The invention relates to an ink jet printer system for the continuous printing of a textile fabric according to the preamble of claim 1.
The printing of textile fabrics by means of an ink jet printer is known, wherein the sheets are printed both with a continuous pattern and with patterns for labels. In one embodiment, in analogy to a stationary printer office printer, the sheet continuously fed along a y-coordinate is printed line by line by means of at least one printhead reciprocated along an x-coordinate at right angles to the web's trajectory.
In another embodiment, in analogy to the plotter with a movable support, the sheet is placed in a printing position and the printhead is moved across the sheet along the x and y coordinates. A disadvantage is considered that even in printers with high technical standard streaking can not be prevented by failure of individual nozzles in the printed pattern.
The invention has for its object to improve an ink-jet printer system.
The solution to this problem arises from the claim. 1
Further developments are the subject of the dependent claims.
The invention is based on the idea that a simple printer system is provided by the combination of a stationary support for the movable in the x-direction printheads with a movable along the y-coordinate holder for the printheads.
With the invention, the possibility is created in an advantageous manner to print both fabric panels and cloth tapes with patterns for labels.
The print heads can be moved stepwise with at least one of the nozzle pitch corresponding step length along the y-coordinate, wherein the program control is preferably designed such that the pattern program is adjustable by the stride length opposite to the Y direction such
that the printheads in the advanced position print the same pattern parts as in the previous printing step. As a result, voids caused by the failure of nozzles can be filled and printing errors that have occurred during a previous printing sequence can be eliminated or the print quality of the patterns can generally be decisively improved. For printing patterns of different dimensions, the printheads can perform a plurality of print sequences.
In a further development, an arrangement for turning the sheet for the two-sided printing of the sheet is provided, wherein the arrangement comprises a plurality of guide rods.
The advantage of this arrangement is to be seen in the simple structure and low maintenance.
Embodiments of the invention are explained below with reference to schematic drawings in a three-dimensional representation, showing:
<Tb> FIG. 1 <sep> An embodiment of a printing system for single-sided printing of a fabric web,
<Tb> FIG. 2 <sep> is a view in the direction of the arrow A in FIG. 1,
<Tb> FIG. 3 <sep> an embodiment of a printing system for double-sided printing of a fabric web,
<Tb> FIG. 4 <sep> an embodiment of a printer system for printing on one side of a fabric band and
<Tb> FIG. 5 <sep> an embodiment of a printer system for printing on both sides of a fabric band.
Reference is made to FIGS. 1 and 2. The printing system includes a device 1 for feeding and positioning a fabric 2 with the predetermined front side 3 along the y-coordinate in a printing position and a printer device 5. The device 1 for feeding and positioning the fabric 2 is known per se and usually includes a feed roller 6 and a tension roller 7.
The printer device 5 is arranged on a support 8 which is fixedly mounted on a frame, not shown, and two parallel guide rods 9 for reciprocating method of the printer device 5 in the x-direction.
As shown in Fig. 2, the printer apparatus 5 comprises a carriage 11 hereinafter called a shuttle having a plurality of print heads 12 having a plurality of nozzles arranged at a pitch. For example, a suitable printer head has 500 nozzles each having a diameter of 0.07 mm, arranged in staggered rows at a pitch of 0.08 mm. The printer device includes a holding assembly 13 for the printheads 12 and a stepper motor 14.
The shuttle 11 is arranged on the guide rods 9 and connected to a program control, not shown signal transmitting, so that the shuttle 11 is moved according to the control signals on the parallel guide rods 9 along the x-coordinate back and forth. The support assembly 13 is mounted to the front of the shuttle and includes two guide rods 15 cantilevered to the shuttle and a retainer 16 slidably disposed on the guide rods 15. The stepper motor 14 is disposed on the rear of the shuttle and drivingly connected to the holder 16.
Hereinafter, the operation of the above-described embodiment of the ink-jet printer system for printing on one side of a fabric web 2 with a plurality of each one label representing patterns 21 will be described.
The fabric 2 is moved along the y-coordinate in a printing position and held in the printing position under tension. The printer device 5 is shifted to a starting position a corresponding to the printing position. Subsequently, the printing device 5 is activated, wherein the print heads 12 are moved from a rest position along the x-coordinate from right to left and are activated during this movement, so that a portion 22 of the pattern is printed. Thereafter, the printheads 12 are moved from left to right in the rest position, wherein the printheads are inactive, so that is not printed. For printing the complete pattern, the inactive printheads 12 are shifted in the rest position by means of the stepping motor 14 with respect to the web 2 along the y-coordinate in a second position b shown by dashed lines.
The subsequent printing process is the same as the printing process for the section 22.
To improve the print quality, the same print sequence is repeated in each case, wherein the print heads 12 are advanced stepwise at least with one of the nozzle pitch corresponding step length along the y-coordinate. Preferably, in the program control, the pattern program is simultaneously shifted by the corresponding step length in the opposite direction to the Y direction such that new nozzles print the same pattern parts as in the preceding print sequence.
As a result, voids caused by nozzle misfires are filled in and the pressure is generally improved.
It should be noted that the fabric 2 can be printed with several each representing a label patterns.
Reference is made to FIG. 3, which shows a printing system for printing on both sides of a fabric web. In this embodiment of the printing system, the device 1 for feeding and positioning the fabric 2 and the printer device 5 are the same as in the printer system for one-sided printing of a fabric and are therefore not described. This printer system has an arrangement for turning the material web, so that the fabric web on the front side 3 and on the back 4 is printed by the print heads 12.
This arrangement comprises a pair of rotatably arranged rollers 23 and 24, a rod 25, a second rod 26 and a second pair of rotatably arranged rollers 27 and 28. With this arrangement for deflecting the fabric web is achieved that each section with the front 3 and a portion with the back 4 side by side and in the same plane lying in the printing position are arranged. The advantages of this arrangement are that the length of fabric between the printing positions of the front 3 and the back 4 is kept to a minimum and that the front 3 and the back 4 are printed with the same printer device. The rollers or rods are arranged in bearings or holders, not shown, which are adjustably mounted in the frame.
This has the advantage that the fabric length can be determined in the arrangement for turning.
Referring to Figs. 4 and 5, which shows a printing system for printing a fabric ribbon 31 having a plurality of patterns 32 representing a label. In this embodiment of the printer system, the device 1 for feeding and positioning the fabric strip 31 and the printer device 5 are the same as in the printing system for printing a fabric and are therefore not described.
The printing system includes two rods 34 and 35 for deflecting the fabric ribbon 31 so that the fabric ribbon 31 extends with the front side 32 along the x-coordinate below the print heads 12.
For printing on both sides of the fabric band 31, as shown in Fig. 5, for turning the fabric band additionally three rods 36, 37 and 38 are provided, so that in each case a portion with the front 33 and a portion with the back 39 side by side and lying in the same plane lying in the printing position. Instead of the rod 37, a roller may be provided with a drive member to assist in controlling the belt tension.
