The present invention relates to a sunshade for windows of buildings consists of a set of parallel blades and adjustable by the simultaneous pivoting of each of the blades around a horizontal axis by means of a rod mechanism driven by a electric motor.
Such sunscreens are well known. They are installed outside the windows of buildings, especially administrative and similar buildings. The blades are oriented by means of one or two rods hinged to the edge or near the edges of the blades and only when the sunshade is fully deployed. They also make it difficult to clean windows.
The object of the invention is to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks.
For this purpose, the sunshade according to the invention is defined by claim 1. A bay window provided with such a sunshade is also defined in claim 9.
The vertically movable frame allows positioning it to prevent the passage of direct sunlight and guide the position of the blades without closing the entire surface of the bay window.
In a preferred embodiment the sun breeze is located inside the bay window sheltered from the weather and does not protrude on the facade. Cleaning the bay outdoors is easy.
The engine could also be mounted in the side of the frame.
It is simply a frame with parallel blades. The frame being movable vertically, it can be moved to clean the bay window.
The amounts of the frame are further advantageously hidden between two trim profiles of the embrasure.
Advantageously, the height of the frame is only a fraction, for example half, of the height of the bay.
The vertical displacement of the frame is advantageously provided by means of a second motor installed at the top of the bay and driving the frame by ropes, or cables, or any other means.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the invention. Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the brise-soleil. Fig. 2 is a sectional view, on a larger scale, along II-II of FIG. 1. FIG. 3 is a sectional view, on a larger scale, along III-III of FIG. 1. FIG. 4 is an exploded end of a blade and its connection to the orientation rod. Fig. 5 is a view similar to that of FIG. 1 showing the frame of the sunshade in its maximum high position.
The sun blind shown comprises a rectangular frame 1 consisting of two horizontal sides or crosspieces 1a and 1b and two vertical sides or uprights 1c and 1d, the side 1d not being visible in FIG. 1, but shown in section in FIG. 2. At least sides 1c and 1d are formed of a closed U-shaped rectangular section, on the outside of the frame, by a closure plate 2. In the uprights 1c and 1d are mounted pivoting blades 3, seven in number in the example shown.
At the crosspieces 1a and 1b, the uprights 1c and 1d of the frame 1 are provided with rectangular pads 4 (FIG 3) of self-lubricating material such as TEFLON (registered trademark), these pads being slidable in fixed vertical rails 5 on the embrasure of the bay, in the example shown, on steel columns 6 of an existing structure. As seen in fig. 3, the pads 4 are slidably mounted on rods 7 and 8 fixed on brackets, such as the bracket 9, fixed to the cross members of the frame 1, and the pads 4 are pushed into the slides 5 by springs 10 and 11 mounted around the rods 7 and 8 and working in compression between the pads 4 and the bracket 9 so as to eliminate any transverse clearance.
The uprights 1c and 1d of the frame 1 also move between two aluminum profiles 12 and 13 fixed to the posts 6 by fastening tabs 14 and 15. These sections 12 and 13 have the sole role of hiding the slides 5 and the uprights. 1c and 1d in view and, in general, contributing to the aesthetics of the whole.
The frame 1 is movable vertically by means of an electric motor housed in an upper rail 16 connecting two posts 6 at the top of the bay window. This motor drives the frame 1 by drums on which unrepresented ropes or cables are wound.
Each of the blades 3 consists of an aluminum profile whose shape is visible in FIG. 4. The ends of these profiles are closed by flanges 17 provided at their center with a shaft end 18 carried by a brass ring 19 fixed in each of the uprights 1c and 1d. The end of one of these shaft ends 18 projects beyond the ring 19 inside an amount of the frame 1 and this end has a rectangular profile 20 engaged in a cutout of the same shape 21 of a wafer 22 retained on the shaft end 18 by means of a screw 23. The plate 22 is provided with two holes 24 and 25. One of these holes, the hole 24 in the example shown in FIG. 4, is used to rotatably mount a crank pin 26 on an axis 27 (FIG 2). This crank pin 26 has a diametrical hole 27 crossed by a rod 28.
The pin 26 is secured in translation of the rod 28 by a screw 29 screwed into the crankpin 27. The plate 22 and the crankpin 26 thus constitute a crank driven by the rod 28. This crank is located inside a frame amount 1, such as 1c frame 1d, fig. 2. On the side of the upright 1d, is fixed a motor 30 driving, via a gearbox and a screw or a rack, an arm 31 rigidly connected to the rod 28, so that the rod can be driven axially. The rod 28 in turn drives the cranks of the blades 3. The side 13a of the profile 13 is of course interrupted over a distance corresponding to the travel of the frame 1, to allow the displacement of the motor 30.
In the lower part of the bay, the space between the sections 12 and 13 is closed by a finishing cap 32 whose upper end 33 constitutes a stop for the frame 1, limiting its low, normal position.
The motor 30 could also be housed inside the amount 1d or in an extension of this amount, in particular in the form of a tubular motor.
The rod 28, as well as the frame 1, could of course be driven in another way, for example by worm and sliding nut.
In any case, it can be seen that the mechanisms of orientation of the blades and frame drive are completely hidden. In addition, the blade orientation means are housed in a space with a small footprint in the width of the bay. In the example shown, this size is approximately 60 mm.
