The invention relates to a window opening device with two collapsible legs which are articulated at one end and are provided at the other end with a fastening element which can be fastened to the window or window frame.
Devices of this type are known to open the window and then hold it in at least a half-open position. For this purpose, spring-loaded retaining means are generally provided in the region of the hinge axis. A device of this type is described in EP-PS 0 542 334.
It is disadvantageous here that the device can be operated relatively easily from the outside when the window is closed, for example with the aid of a metal wire which is passed through the window frame which has been drilled through beforehand. The device is then actuated in such a way that the window is brought into the half-open position with little effort.
The invention is based on the object of avoiding this disadvantage and of providing a window opening device of the type mentioned at the outset which, when the window is closed, ensures the necessary security against unauthorized opening of the window.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the legs of the device are provided in the area of the fastening elements with locking members which engage in one another when the legs are folded and which cooperate with a locking device which blocks the locking members when the legs are folded.
In this way it is achieved that when the window is closed, the then folded legs are firmly locked together, the locking being releasable only after the locking device has been unlocked.
In window opening devices of the type mentioned, the legs of which are each provided with a holder articulated on the leg for its fastening element, one holder being pivotable transversely and the other holder axially parallel to the hinge axis of the legs, and the fastening elements being designed as fastening flanges and on one holder axially parallel and on the other holder articulated transversely to the hinge axis of the legs, the invention provides that the pivotable holder axially parallel to the hinge axis of the legs is provided with a coaxially arranged to the hinge axis of its mounting flange guide pin which with folded legs with a interacts in the other holder co-axially arranged to its pivot axis guide bushing,
wherein a locking member on the holder with the guide bush and the other locking member on the mounting flange of the holder with the guide pin are arranged. In this way, a secure interlocking of the locking members is guaranteed when folding the legs. It is advantageous here in terms of the strongest possible locking effect if the locking members are formed by a V-shaped or U-shaped longitudinal edge of the holder or the fastening flange.
According to the invention, the guide pin and the guide bush are arranged in such a way that their central axes coincide when the legs are folded together and form a common pivot axis for the folded legs.
This makes it possible, when the window is closed, to pivot the folded legs towards the window about their common pivot axis with interlocking locking members.
Here, the invention provides that the axially parallel to the hinge axis of the pivot holder is provided with a side extension and the folded legs can be pivoted about their common pivot axis into a position in which the extension engages over the interlocking locking members. This further enhances the locking effect.
In window opening devices, the legs of which have a U-shaped cross-sectional profile, with one leg receiving the other when the legs are folded together, it is provided according to the invention that the leg receiving the other leg is provided with a lateral recess which allows the folded legs to be pivoted about their common pivot axis allows.
The invention also provides that the locking device is provided with a locking bolt which is mounted in one leg and which overlaps the other leg on one or both sides when the legs are folded. In the case of window opening devices, one leg of which is provided with a lateral recess which enables the folded leg to be pivoted in, it is advantageous if the locking bolt is mounted in the leg with the lateral recess.
The invention is explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment with reference to the drawing. 1 shows a window opening device according to the invention, shown in a side view and in a half-open position, FIG. 2 shows the window opening device from FIG. 1, shown in a side view and in the closed position, FIG. 3 shows a view of the window opening device in the direction of the arrow III in Fig. 2, Fig. 4 is a partial view of the window opening device in the direction of arrow IV in Fig. 2, Fig. 5 is a partial view of the window opening device in the direction of arrow V in Fig. 2 and Fig. 6 is a partial view of the window opening device in the direction of Arrow VI in Fig. 1.
The window opening device shown in FIGS. 1 to 6 has two collapsible legs 1 and 2 with a U-shaped cross-sectional profile, which are articulated at one end about an articulation axis 3 and at the other end with one at a window 4 or the window frame 5 fixable mounting flange 6 and 7 are provided.
The legs 1 and 2 each have a holder 8 or 9 for the mounting flanges 6 and 7, the holder 8 being transverse and the holder 9 axially parallel to the hinge axis 3 of the legs 1 and 2 being pivotable about a hinge axis 10 or 11.
The mounting flanges 6 and 7 are articulated on the brackets 8 and 9 axially parallel or transversely to the hinge axis 3 of the legs 1 and 2. Their hinge axes are marked with the reference numbers 12 and 13 respectively.
The holder 9 is provided with a guide pin 14 which is arranged coaxially to the hinge axis 13 of its fastening flange 7 and which, when the legs 1 and 2 are folded together, cooperates with a guide bush 15 arranged in the other holder 8 coaxially to the pivot axis 10 thereof.
The holder 8 and the mounting flange 7 are each provided with a locking member 16 and 17, which is formed by a V-shaped bent longitudinal edge of the holder 8 and the mounting flange 7.
The guide pin 14 and the guide bush 15 are aligned coaxially to one another when the legs 1 and 2 are folded together, so that their central axes then coincide and form a common pivot axis 18 for the folded legs 1 and 2.
The axially parallel to the hinge axis 3 of the legs 1 and 2 pivotable holder 9 is provided with a side extension 19. When the window is closed, the folded legs 1 and 2 can be pivoted about their common pivot axis 18 into the position shown in FIG. 5, in which the extension 19 engages over the interlocking locking members 16 and 17. In order to enable the folded legs 1 and 2 to be pivoted in, a lateral recess 20 is provided in the leg 1.
In the leg 1 a locking device 21 is arranged with a locking bolt 22 mounted in the leg 1 with an axis of rotation 23. In the closed position shown in FIGS. 2, 3 and 4, the locking bolt 22 is aligned transversely to the longitudinal axis of the legs 1 and 2, so that when the legs 1 and 2 are folded together, they overlap the leg 2 on both sides. As a result, the interlocking locking members 16 and 17 are blocked until the closing device 21 is unlocked again.
As shown in simplified form in FIG. 6, the locking device 21 is provided with a security lock 24 which is actuated with a key 25.
The window opening device also has two cams 26 and 27 which can be rotated together with the leg 2 about the pivot axis 3 and which can be latched into a trough 28 of a leaf spring 29 installed in the leg 1 and serve to hold the window in two different half-open positions. A handle 30 is provided on the leg 1 for actuating the device.
