Fig. 6:
The present invention relates to a modular, based on the direct and indirect grill and the convection principle, multifunctional, adjustable, light and handy multi-chamber grill, which allows the preparation of food and liquids in different ways simultaneously or in stages, such as direct or indirect grilling , Cooking, roasting, boiling, baking, smoking and heating.
Part of conventional grilling devices, such as the well-known spherical grills, usually have the property that they can only be used either for direct or indirect grilling or for cooking, roasting, boiling, baking in a common fire, grill, Cooking and baking chamber can be used. This type of grill, in which the food to be prepared is located in the same chamber as the fire, is also very unsuitable for fuels that develop large flames because it burns the food. Another type of grilling device has a separate fire chamber, but it is firmly connected to a separate grilling, cooking, baking and smoking chamber, which leads to large and bulky grilling devices.
The invention is based on the object to enable the sole, partially simultaneous or staggered preparation of food and liquids with a single, modular, light and non-bulky device, by means of direct grilling, cooking and heating, indirect grilling based on the recirculation principle , Cooking, roasting, baking and smoking, in particular wood, charcoal, gas, but also other heat sources can be used as fuels.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that a separate fire chamber and one (or more) separate cooking, baking and grilling chamber (s) are arranged with a common, communicating passage opening and are adjustable relative to one another. As a result, the passage opening between the fire chamber and the cooking, baking and grill chamber can be changed and both the temperature, the quantity and the flow properties of the hot air flowing from the fire chamber into the cooking, baking and grill chamber can be regulated as desired.
The adjustable arrangement of these two chambers and the adjustable common opening for the hot air thus allow simultaneous direct grilling over an open fire or grilling on a closed grill, roasting in a pan or cooking over the closed fire chamber and cooking at the same time and indirect grilling with hot air, baking or smoking in the cooking, baking and grilling chamber. The possibility of moving these chambers against each other and positioning them one above the other allows this multifunctional multi-chamber grill to be stored and shipped in a very space-saving manner - all significant advantages over the conventionally known grill models.
In terms of design, the mutual adjustment of the fire chamber to the cooking, baking and grilling chamber takes place, depending on the model variant, either around a common, vertically oriented axis of rotation (rotating multi-chamber grill) or by means of a lateral, parallel displacement of the two chambers along the regulating level (sliding multi-chamber grill ). As a result, the hot air inlet cut into the bottom of the cooking, baking and grill chamber into the cooking, baking and grill chamber is shifted in relation to the hot air outlet recessed in the fire chamber cover and the passage opening is changed and, depending on the position, cold outside air is also added. The overlap is such that no flames or hot air from the hot air outlet of the fire chamber can go directly outside.
The mutual arrangement of the bottom fire chamber to the top cooking, baking and grilling chamber results in a natural air suction effect and leads to the desired adjustable hot air circulation in the cooking, baking and grilling chamber. In order that flames cannot get directly into the cooking, baking and grill chamber, a corresponding flame bar is inserted into the fire chamber. As an optional variant, a fan can also be attached to the two air outlets of the cooking, baking and grilling chamber in order to accelerate the lighting of the fire and increase the hot air flow.
The different mutual positions of the two chambers allow different preparation options. For example, if the two chambers overlap, i.e. the fire chamber is positioned directly below the cooking, baking and grilling chamber, generating a very high bottom heat with simultaneous air circulation.
A further design feature according to the invention are the suspensions of the fire chamber on the fire chamber holder and the cooking, baking and grill chamber on the cooking, baking and grill chamber holder. This novel construction enables the two chambers to be attached and removed quickly and easily, e.g. for cleaning purposes or to replace, and above all enables a light and inexpensive construction of these chambers, since they do not have to perform a supporting function.
The shapes of the fire chamber and the cooking, baking and grill chamber as well as their covers can be designed as desired. The only requirements are that the mutual overlap of the two chambers results in a passage opening that is sealed as well as possible to the outside and that this can be changed either by rotation (rotating multi-chamber grill) or by displacement (sliding multi-chamber grill) and that the two chambers are used for space-saving storage can be rotated or pushed over each other entirely or mostly.
Round, circular segment-shaped, cylindrical or hemispherical, but also other shapes are suitable for the fire and cooking, baking and grilling chamber for the rotating multi-chamber grill variant, while for the sliding multi-chamber grill variant, among other things, cubic shapes are particularly suitable are. The resulting flow patterns of the hot air circulating in the cooking, baking and grilling chamber as well as design and production aspects are decisive for the choice of shape. Ideal flow conditions could be measured in different chamber shapes.
The large variance also applies to the materials used for the various construction parts. Among other things, shaped, stamped, welded and treated sheet metal, iron and other metals, but also glass, stone or concrete-like materials are suitable.
On the one hand, the fire chamber can be provided with an open, height-adjustable grill grate, which covers the entire opening of the fire chamber, for direct grilling over an open fire. The cooking, baking and grilling chamber is not used in this application, it can either be turned off or removed completely. The grate contained in the cooking, baking and grilling chamber can be used. On the other hand, the fire chamber can be provided with a closed, flat fire chamber cover that is always positioned in the same way on the fire chamber, which enables use as a multifunctional multi-chamber grill.
The closed fire chamber cover contains, in addition to the passage opening for the hot air, a preferably circular or rectangular recess into which either a closed grill, roasting or plate insert can be inserted. While one side serves as a ribbed grill plate, the other side can be used as a flat heating and roasting plate. A smaller, open grillage or a wok or frying pan can also be inserted into the same recess in the closed fire chamber cover. The simple replacement of these inserts by means of an insertable handle enables optimal cleaning of all parts, even when hot.
Another construction variant according to the invention is created by the possibility of designing the bottom of the cooking, baking and grill chamber as a movable, removable and rotatable insert which is placed in the cooking, baking and grill chamber which is open at the bottom in this variant. The floor also contains the hot air inlet already described and can be inserted and rotated within certain limits in the cooking, baking and grill chamber. For this purpose it is provided with a removable twist grip. With this handle, the bottom of the cooking, baking and grill chamber can be rotated so that the common passage opening between the fire and the cooking, baking and grill chamber is changed.
If the bottom of the cooking, baking and grilling chamber is completely removed and the two chambers are positioned one above the other, a single fire and grill room is created that covers the volume of both chambers.
Another advantageous feature of the present invention is that the fire chamber and the cooking, baking and grilling chamber can be completely removed from the brackets in one movement and that all parts can be easily assembled, cleaned and replaced.
A further design feature according to the invention is the division of the hot air outlet from the cooking, baking and grill chamber into at least two differently arranged air outlets, namely an upper air outlet and a lower air outlet. This division enables precise dosing of the lower and upper hot air circulation and ensures regular crusting of the food and grilled food.
The three-legged or four-legged frame with two wheels, which tapers upwards into the vertically oriented rotating and regulating axis, is particularly suitable as a grill base for the rotary multi-chamber grill variant. The sufficient projection of the frame feet guarantees secure stability in all possible chamber positions. If the grill is set up in the same place, an axis of rotation embedded in the floor or in a heavy base can also be used instead of the multi-legged grill base. For the sliding multi-chamber grill variant, either a four-legged frame with two wheels or a skid-like stand construction are most suitable. Basically, different types of stand constructions can be used for all variants.
The invention and possible non-exhaustive exemplary embodiments are explained below with the aid of a few schematic representations:
Fig. 1: Schematic representation of a rotary multi-chamber grill with the hot air outlet completely open and inserted, closed grill plate above the fire chamber.
Fig. 2: Schematic representation of a sliding multi-chamber grill.
Fig. 3: Schematic representation of a rotary multi-chamber grill with removable bottom.
Fig. 4: Schematic representation of a rotary multi-chamber grill with the bottom of the cooking, baking and grill chamber removed and use as the only fire and grill room.
Fig. 5: Schematic representation of a rotary multi-chamber grill with removed cooking, baking and grill chamber, used as a direct grill with a large, open grill insert.
Fig. 6:
Schematic sectional view of the fire chamber and the fire chamber cover with a) closed grill grate and flat heating plate on the underside, b) small, open grill and c) inserted frying or wok pan.
Fig. 1 shows a schematic representation of a rotary multi-chamber grill with the hot air passage completely open and inserted, closed grill plate above the fire chamber. Fire or heat is generated in the fire chamber 1 either with wood, charcoal on a fire grate 2, a gas heating insert or with other materials. The fresh air 3 required for this reaches the fire chamber through the adjustable fire opening slide or the fire opening door 4. Through this regulating opening of the fire chamber 5, fuel can also be pushed into the fire chamber. The fire chamber cover 6 contains, in addition to the passage opening for the hot air 14, a recess 7 into which a closed grill or plate insert 8, a wok or frying pan 9 or a small, open grill grate 10 can be fitted.
Instead of the fire chamber cover 6, a height-adjustable, open grillage 11 can also be placed over the entire fire chamber. Slide-in openings 12 in the grill and plate insert 8, the open grill grates 10 and 11 allow the safe removal or replacement of these parts even when hot, by means of a free handle 13.
Hot circulating air enters the cooking, baking and grilling chamber 17 through the passage opening of the fire chamber 14 and the hot air inlet, which is rotatably attached above it, into the cooking, baking and grilling chamber 17. This chamber can also be used as a smoking chamber if the fuel is suitable.
The cooking, baking and grilling chamber 17 can be rotated about the regulating axis 18 with respect to the fire chamber 1, so that the size of the communicating passage opening 19 is changed. This changes the amount of hot air, the flow properties and the temperature in the cooking, baking and grilling chamber. Depending on the position, the temperature can also be regulated by the entry of cold outside air 20 directly into the cooking, baking and grill chamber.
The shape of the passage opening fire chamber 14 and the hot air inlet cooking, baking and grill chamber 15 advantageously has a lenticular shape in the rotary multi-chamber grill variant, advantageously a rectangular shape in the sliding multi-chamber grill variant. But there are also other shapes or several smaller openings, e.g. Slots, conceivable.
The food or baked goods 21 are located on the height-adjustable indirect grill grate 22 and are treated with the selected temperature in a forced-air process, i.e. cooked, indirectly grilled, baked or smoked. So that the flames cannot get directly into the cooking, baking and grilling chamber, a flame bar 23 (FIG. 6) is attached in the fire chamber. The temperature in the cooking, baking and grilling chamber can be read off at any time by means of a thermometer 24 which can be pushed into the cover of the cooking, baking and grilling chamber 16. A handle on the cooking, baking and grill chamber 25 enables safe covering even when hot. Hot parts can be placed on several brackets 27 attached to the grill frame 26 without damaging the floor.
Both the fire as well as the cooking, baking and grill chamber are hooked onto the holder fire chamber 28 and the holder cooking, baking and grill chamber 29 and can be attached and removed without tools. The two handles 30, each attached to the fire and cooking, baking and grilling chamber, allow these chambers to be safely turned, attached or removed even when hot. The handle 43 at the upper end of the regulating axis 18 enables the grill to be moved on its wheels 31 in the hot or cold state. The cantilevered support legs 32 guarantee a secure stand in any possible position of the two chambers. The upper 33 and lower air outlet 34 are both adjustable with a slide and allow additional metering and control of the hot air circulation.
FIG. 2 shows the sliding multi-chamber grill functioning according to the same principles, the passage opening 35 being moved from the fire chamber 1 into the cooking, baking and grill chamber 17 not by rotation, but along the lateral regulating plane 36. As a variant, the size of the passage opening 35 can be achieved not only by moving the cooking, baking and grilling chamber, but also by inserting the fire chamber cover 6 into the passage opening 35. All other functions are analogous to the possibilities offered by the rotary multi-chamber grill.
Fig. 3 shows the schematic representation of a rotary multi-chamber grill with removable and rotatable bottom in the cooking, baking and grilling chamber. In this inventive embodiment variant, the communicating passage opening 19 is not achieved by rotating the entire cooking, baking and grilling chamber 17 with respect to the fire chamber 1 about the regulating axis 18, but by rotating the movable base plate 37 on the narrow inwardly curved edge of the otherwise open cooking -, Baking and grill chamber 42 by means of the removable rotary handle base plate 38 within the slot for the range of movement of the base plate 39. The insertion opening 40 for the rotary handle 38 and the slot position 39 are selected so that the passage opening 19 can be opened from fully open to fully closed ,
Fig. 4 shows the schematic representation of a rotary multi-chamber grill with the bottom of the cooking, baking and grill chamber 37 removed and used as a single fire and grill room. With the cylindrical shape of the two chambers, the fire chamber cover 6 can be completely removed, while with the conical chamber shapes the fire chamber cover remains inserted so that the lateral cover of the fire chamber remains. If the closed grill and plate insert 8 is used, the grill works in the recirculating air principle with high bottom heat, since the cooking, baking and grill chamber is located directly above the fire chamber.
5 shows the schematic representation of a rotary multi-chamber grill with the cooking, baking and grill chamber 17 removed, used as a direct grill with a large, height-adjustable, open grill insert 11. The cover of the cooking, baking and grill chamber 16 can be used if required.
Fig. 6 shows the schematic sectional view of the fire chamber 1 and the fire chamber cover 6 with the various inserts in the fire chamber cover 8 (closed grill and plate insert), 9 (wok or frying pan) and 10 (small, open grill) and the flame bar 23, which prevents flames from passing through the fire chamber 14 into the cooking, baking and grilling space.
