Gleiche Bezugszeichen bedeuten in allen Figuren gleiche Einzelteile.
The invention relates to a compressor control of a fuel cell arrangement according to the introductory part of independent claim 1.
To operate a fuel cell, a certain pressure on the gas and air side is required, which has a decisive influence on the efficiency. With increasing compressor work, however, the system efficiency of a fuel cell system, which comprises a reformer, a compressor, pumps, the actual fuel cell and other components, is reduced. It is therefore necessary to achieve a low pressure drop in the system.
For a gas-side safety chain, two independent gas valves are required for gas devices, one of which generally also regulates the gas flow. In the case of a fuel cell arrangement with a compressor, however, it must be ensured that the gas valves are open when the compressor is in operation. Otherwise, the compressor could create a negative pressure in the gas lines compared to atmospheric pressure, which would allow air to enter the gas path.
The aim of the invention is to propose a compressor control of the type mentioned at the outset, which is distinguished by a simple structure.
According to the invention, this is achieved in a compressor control of the type mentioned at the outset by the features of the independent claims.
The proposed measures result in a very simple construction, in which there is only a very small pressure loss in normal operation.
It is particularly advantageous to provide the features of the first dependent claim.
The proposed measures make it possible for the compressor to start up when the electromagnetically operated gas valve is open, initially building up a negative pressure on the suction side, as a result of which the check valve opens. The check valve is designed so that it remains closed when the normal gas connection pressure is applied, even when the second valve is open. This avoids excessive vacuum in the gas path and the compressor begins to build up an overpressure on its pressure side. When a certain pressure is reached, the pressure-dependent gas valve opens and the check valve closes.
According to a variant of the invention, the features of the second dependent claim are provided.
This embodiment results in a relatively simple construction, in which there is also only a slight pressure loss in normal operation.
In the technical embodiment according to the third independent claim, it is additionally advantageous to minimize the pressure loss during the starting phase.
The features of the next independent claim 5 result in a particularly simple structure, but with somewhat higher pressure losses.
The features of the last independent claim result in the advantage that the gas throughput can be regulated.
The characteristics of the last dependent claim also make it possible to regulate the gas throughput.
The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to the drawing. 1 to 4 schematically show different embodiments of a compressor control according to the invention.
The same reference numerals mean the same individual parts in all figures.
In the embodiment according to patent claim 2 and FIG. 1, a gas filter 2 is connected to a gas supply line 1 to a reformer 23 of a fuel cell 24, which is followed by a gas valve 3 with an electromagnetic drive 15. This gas valve 3 is followed by a parallel circuit 22, which is formed from a further gas valve 4, which is controlled by a pressure transmitter, and a check valve 8, which is connected to the gas valve 4 via pipes 7. This parallel connection 22 is followed by a compressor 6 driven by a motor 20, a control line 5, which leads to the drive 17 of the gas valve 4, being connected to the pressure side 16 of the compressor 6. A controller 21 acts on the motor 20 and the drive 15. Before the motor 20 of the compressor 6 starts, the gas valve 3 is opened by the controller 21.
In this embodiment, when the compressor 6 starts up, it first builds up a negative pressure through which the check valve 8 opens. This prevents an excessive vacuum from developing in the gas path and the compressor begins to build up an overpressure on the pressure side 16. When the compressor 6 has reached a minimum overpressure, the gas valve 4 is opened and the flow path is opened, the check valve 8 closing.
This keeps the pressure loss across the parallel circuit very low. The gas throughput is regulated by changing the compressor output by means of the controller 21.
In the embodiment according to claim 3 and FIG. 2, the structure of which is essentially similar to that of FIG. 1, instead of the pressure-controlled gas valve 4, a gas valve 11 is provided, the electromagnetic drive 18 of which is controlled by a differential pressure meter 10. The differential pressure meter 10 is connected via control lines 9 to the suction 19 and pressure side 16 of the compressor 6. The differential pressure meter 10 is connected via a signal line 12 to the electromagnetic drive 18 of the gas valve 11.
In this embodiment, just as in the embodiment according to FIG. 1, depending on the volume of the gas line between the gas valve 3 and the compressor 6, the check valve 8 can be dispensed with.
In the embodiment according to claim 5 and FIG. 3, the second gas valve is dispensed with. A gas filter 2 is connected to the gas supply line 1 and is followed by a gas valve 3. Furthermore, the gas valve 3 is followed by a check valve 8, which is connected upstream of the suction side of the compressor 6.
This embodiment is distinguished by a high degree of simplicity, although there is a somewhat higher pressure loss compared to the embodiments according to FIGS. 1 and 2.
In the embodiment according to claim 6 and FIG. 4, the suction side of the compressor 6 is preceded by a gas filter 2 and a gas valve 3. The pressure side of the compressor 6 is followed by a pressure regulator 13 and this a gas control valve 14. The pressure regulator 13 and the gas control valve 14 can be combined in one valve. With this version it is easily possible to regulate the gas throughput.
Furthermore, it is also possible to provide the gas pressure regulator 13 and the gas regulating valve 14 in the other embodiments as well, according to the statements made in accordance with the remaining patent claims.
