- in fig. 1 una vista prospettica della detta preferita realizzazione di una stazione multipla secondo l'invenzione;
- in fig. 2 una vista prospettica della sola struttura portante a "C" della stazione della fig. l;
- in fig.
The present invention relates to the field of machine tools with chip removal, and refers more particularly to a multiple operating station suitable for said machines and equipped in such a way as to be able to perform, through a plurality of operating units, milling, turning operations , boring and grinding according to the direction of several predetermined axes.
An operating station of this type is currently obtained by overlapping or in any case the mechanical connection of several parts, of which each can usually translate in the direction of only one axis of the orthogonal Cartesian triad and / or perform a rotation, all these translations and / or rotations being necessary to give the different motions of advancement, work and adjustment of the different tools and / or the piece to be worked.
This necessarily implies that each of the overlapping parts making up the station must be constructed in such a way as to have sufficient rigidity to allow the desired working precision, and that consequently massive and heavy structures must be used.
Furthermore, since the parts adapted to translate with respect to each other in a desired direction are connected to each other with a sliding guide system, a very accurate execution of the guides is necessary, so that the machining tolerances and the clearances between the pieces that make up the guides of the different overlapping parts or in any case connected to each other making up the operating station, adding the effects of their inaccuracies and their vibrations, do not compromise the desired degree of machining precision.
A last non-negligible drawback presented by the operating stations according to the current state of the art is constituted by the fact that, by performing a grinding operation, the very fine abrasive fragments of the springs used inevitably tend to fall on the parts of the machine located lower down, inserting itself in the sliding guides between the parts or between them and the support base, with the obvious results of serious deterioration of the parts themselves. Therefore, said stations cannot normally be used to perform grinding operations too, unless expensive and cumbersome devices are provided to prevent said action of the tiny fragments of grinding wheel.
Summarizing the drawbacks listed above, it can be noted that multiple operating stations according to current knowledge are more expensive and heavier, with a working precision that is relatively difficult to obtain, and with the limitation of not being able to normally carry out grinding work among others .
The inventor of the present invention has conceived a light and simple construction multiple operating station, in which the various component parts are located and coordinated so as to substantially reduce the drawbacks and limitations set forth above.
For this purpose, in fact, the inventor has conceived the object of the present invention, which consists of a multiple operating station for a machine tool with chip removal for turning, milling and grinding operations on several axes, characterized in that it comprises a plurality of independent operating units adapted to be connected indifferently to a tool or a piece to be machined, and to give them respectively the work and / or feed motion, said units being applied on a bearing structure of an arcuate shape with the concavity turned downwards, and being positioned so that below the area in which the piece is located during any phase of the processing, there are no functional parts of the machine subject to moving relative motion with respect to each other.
A more detailed description of a preferred embodiment of the operating station according to the invention will now be made, from which all the achievable advantages will be evident.
The description will also refer to the attached drawings, which represent:
- in fig. 1 is a perspective view of the said preferred embodiment of a multiple station according to the invention;
- in fig. 2 is a perspective view of the only "C" bearing structure of the station of fig. L;
- in fig. 3 is the perspective view of another embodiment of the invention in which the operating units, in order to obtain a higher rigidity, are interposed between two parallel C-bearing structures.
If we consider fig. 1 you can see what a multiple operating station according to the present invention looks like: on a bearing structure 2 of an arched shape with the concavity facing downwards, which in the preferred embodiment shown has the shape of a "C" a plurality is applied of independent operating units 3, 4, 5, three in the present case. These operating units are all provided with a spindle 3m, 4m, 5m, suitable for being connected indifferently to a tool with a suitably shaped shank, for example conically, of a known type, or to a workpiece holder also equipped with a connection shank similarly shaped.
One 3 of said units is fixed on the median area of the horizontal side 2a of the "C" and has vertical axis K, while the other two 4, 5 with horizontal axis h, z are fixed respectively in a position facing the other two sides 2b thereof, 2c.
The said operating units are thus positioned so that, at any stage of the machining, and regardless of which units act as a tool holder and as a workpiece holder, there are no functional parts of the machine under the zone 6 where the piece is located. subject to moving relative motion to each other. This arrangement allows, as already mentioned, to be able to also perform grinding operations without having to worry about the fragments of the grinding wheels, which at most settle on a smooth surface that can constitute the base support of the multiple station 1 (not shown), and which can therefore be periodically removed with known methods without any problems whatsoever.
The operating possibilities of each unit, 3, 4, 5 may vary according to the needs of the work cycles envisaged.
According to an indicative example provided by the inventor, each of the spindles 3m, 4m, 5m of the said operating units 3, 4, 5 can be moved by rotary motion at predetermined speeds, so as to be able to carry out operations such as drilling and reaming, etc. with the spindles bearing the tools, or turning operations with the spindle carrying the workpiece.
The operating unit 3 with vertical axis k is adjustable in the vertical direction and its said axis k can also be rotated by predetermined alpha angles on the vertical plane which contains it and which is parallel to the "C" structure 2.
Each of the two operating units 4, 5 arranged on the vertical sides 2b, 2c of the "C" structure 2, or the relative mandrel, is furthermore adjustable in an axial direction, that is in a direction parallel to the structure itself, and lateral, that is perpendicular to it .
The latter movement can be imparted, for example, by sliding the operating unit with respect to guide pins 7, which slide axially within holes 8 (figs. 1 and 2) obtained in the supporting structure 2.
The spindles 3m, 4m, 5m of the said operating units 3, 4, 5 can also be rotated by predetermined angles around the respective respective axes k, h, e, z, and then be kept in this position for example for the duration of a processing phase in which the spindles 3m, 4m, 5m perform the function of workpiece holder.
It is clear to a person skilled in the art how this latter possibility of adjustment is much easier and more effective, for example, than the use of a known type heat cost allocator.
From a multiple station like the one just described, even highly complex and delicate work cycles can be performed quickly and with minimal relative movements between the various parts, thus obtaining an optimal result in terms of precision with a much simpler, lighter and more versatile station than to the traditional ones.
The supporting structure 2 can be arranged not only vertically as in the case shown, but also according to different orientations.
To give even greater rigidity to the whole, a multiple operating station according to the invention can also comprise a second arched supporting structure 12 arranged parallel to the first 2, with the different units slidingly inserted between the two structures 2 and 12, as also indicated with the hatching in fig. 3.
Finally, multiple multiple stations can be arranged side by side and aligned to each other, so that their concavities form a tunnel along which the pieces can be transferred from station to station in the case of automated work cycles.
Finally, other construction solutions are within the reach of a person skilled in the art to obtain the optimal solutions for given work cycles from time to time. Such realizations, if different from those described and represented so far, will always result in the scope of the protection conferred by the attached claims if they refer to the concepts they express.
