The subject of the present invention is a device for fixing, on a ski boot, a first hooking part intended to be hooked in a second hooking part secured to a tensioning device fixed on another part of the shoe.
The ski boot buckles consist, on the one hand, of a fixed part, ring or denture, fixed on one part of the boot and, on the other hand, of a tensioning lever fixed on another part of the shoe and connected to a fastening member which hooks into the ring or the rack. Such a loop is described for example in US Pat. No. 4,051,611. The rack, as in all known loops, is fixed to the chase by means of a rivet. A replacement of this rack can therefore only be done by removing the rivet, a tedious operation which cannot moreover be carried out without risking damaging the shoe. When a fixed ring is provided instead of a fixed rack, the replacement of this can also be much more frequent.
The object of the present invention is to allow the instantaneous removal and replacement, without tools, of the attachment piece fixed to the shoe by a rivet.
The device according to the invention is characterized in that it consists of a plate, the lower face of which has a first part conforming to the surface of the shoe and a second part having a clearance for the passage of the first attachment part. between the plate and the shoe, this clearance being interrupted, however, by at least one protruding projection in at least one housing of the first hooking part to retain the latter in traction, and in that the first part of the plate has a hole for fixing it to the shoe by a rivet, the hole in the plate having a counterbore with a diameter greater than the diameter of the head of the rivet and inclined in the direction of the attachment piece relative to the axis of the rivet, a washer elastic being placed, under pressure, between the inclined counterbore and the head of the rivet,
in such a way that the plate can be moved away from the shoe by compressing the elastic washer.
The elastic washer is preferably a Belleville washer, but it could also consist of a relatively thick elastomer washer.
The elastic washer does not need to apply the pad against the shoe with a high force, because the pad is only subjected to a tensile force transverse to the rivet, which by the breakdown of forces tends to apply it against the hull.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the projection of the plate consists of a transverse rib of oblique section in the shape of a parallelogram, the housing of the hooking part has a shape conjugated to that of the rib and the front end of the hooking piece engaged under the plate is in the form of a ramp, so that the hooking part can be hooked to the plate by simply pushing it against the rib which rises on the ramp and then falls back in the housing of the hanging part. To remove the attachment piece, simply lift the end of the plate. This can be done with a pocket knife or any other suitable object or instrument.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows a complete loop in perspective.
Fig. 2 is a view in longitudinal median section of the right half of the loop shown in FIG. 1, with two parts of the shoe on which the two parts of the buckle are fixed.
The shoe buckle shown in fig. 1 comprises, in known manner, a tensioning lever 1 articulated by means of two axes 2 in a stirrup 3 secured to a base 4 intended to be fixed on a part 5 of a shoe (fig. 2) and at a point intermediate of which is articulated, around an axis 6, a tie rod 7 at the end of which is articulated a rack 8.
The shoe buckle also consists of a rectangular ring 9 formed of a U-shaped piece and a transverse bar 10 which hooks into one of the teeth of the rack 8. The ring 9 is fixed to another part 11 of the shoe by means of an intermediate plate 12 having a hole 13 by means of which it is fixed to part 11 of the shoe by a rivet 14.
The underside of the plate 12 has a first part 15 conforming to the curvature of the shoe and a second part having a clearance 16 whose height is such that it can receive the uncut portion 9a of the ring 9. This clearance 16 is however interrupted by a transverse rib 17 of oblique profile in the form of a parallelogram. This rib 17 is engaged in a cutout 18 of the ring 9 of shape combined with that of the rib 17. The ring 9 is thus perfectly hooked on the rib 17.
Around the hole 13, the first part of the plate 12 has a counterbore 19 with a diameter slightly greater than the diameter of the head 20 of the rivet 14. This counterbore 19 is further inclined in the direction of the ring 9. The rivet 14 has a first section 21 passing through the wall of the shoe and a section 22 of larger diameter, between the head 20 and the shoe and coming to bear by a bearing against the shoe. This section 22 creates a space between the head 20 of the rivet and the counterbore 19. In this space is housed a spring constituted by a Belleville washer 23 which is placed obliquely relative to the axis of the rivet 14. The distance between the counterbore and the head 20 is such that the washer 23 is slightly compressed and that the plate 12 is consequently pressed against the shoe.
The end of the part 9a of the ring ends in an oblique face 24 whose slope is substantially the same as that of the walls of the cutout 18.
The ring 9 and the plate 12 can be made of metal, as shown, for example aluminum, or hard plastic.
If one wishes to change the ring 9, for example because of its breakage or more generally to adapt the shoe to the client, it suffices to lift the plate 12 by its end close to the rib 17. This is possible due to the inclination of the counterbore 19 and the remaining possibility of compressing the spring washer 23 by the lower part of the counterbore. In the raised position 121 shown in phantom, the rib 17 is released from the cutout 18 and it is possible to remove the ring 9. The establishment of a new ring is performed even more easily. It suffices to push the latter under the plate 12. The front ramp 24 of the ring 9 raises the plate 12 by sliding on the inclined face of the rib 17, which then falls back into the cutout 18.
Instead of an oblique rib 17 cooperating with an oblique cutout 18, it would be possible to provide one or more ribs or studs perpendicular to the plate 12 and engaging in corresponding holes in the ring 9. In this case, the insert 12 should also be lifted by hand to install a new ring 9.
The ring 9 could of course be replaced by a denture cooperating with a ring or a denture integral with the tensioner.
Instead of a Belleville washer, it would be possible to use any other elastic element such as an elastomer ring.
With certain types of rivets sections of different diameters 21 and 22 are not necessary. This is the case, for example, of rivets with a hollow end which are fixed by flaring and crushing of this end.
