The present invention relates to a safety plug according to claim 1 and a matching safety socket according to claim 6.
Safety plug connections for high currents are known in many embodiments and have a plug fastened in a housing with a plurality of contact pins which can be plugged into a correspondingly designed socket block. With these multi-pole plug connections, the power cable (for example 25 amps) has several conductors for the individual phases. The socket openings of the socket block are so small that the live sockets cannot be touched. Commercially available plug connections have socket openings with a diameter of, for example, 6 mm.
Unfortunately, these multi-pin plug connections are not suitable for high-current connections with large conductor cross-sections for, for example, more than 40 amps, since such multi-pin plug connections can on the one hand no longer be simply and easily plugged and / or disconnected by hand, and on the other hand the plug pins are not protected against contact, which in particular when operating large electrical loads (coils, capacities, etc. with high switching inertia) can lead to dangerous discharges.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a plug connection in which both the socket block and the contact pins (or contact bolts) of the plug are designed such that they are safe to touch. In particular, a safety plug connection is to be created which is suitable for the manual connection of high-current-conducting cables with large cross sections.
This object is inventively with a safety plug and a safety socket according to claims 1 and. 6 solved. Essential to the invention, the safety plug has a sleeve-shaped contact pin, which is provided on the inside with an insulating inner sleeve that overlaps the end edge of this contact pin, and the safety socket has a contact piece, the connection-side end of which can be pushed onto the sleeve-shaped contact pin. A plug in the inside of the contact sleeve of the safety socket and a protective jacket over the contact sleeve ensure that the bare contact surface of the contact sleeve is protected against contact.
A protective sleeve arranged around the contact pin of the safety plug and an inner sleeve located inside the sleeve-shaped contact pin ensure that the bare contact surface of the contact pin is also protected against contact. Continuous insulation is provided to make these connectors safe for high-current conductors. This continuous insulation may include one or more pieces of shrink tubing, solid insulation parts, and elastic cuffs.
The advantages of the safety plug connection according to the invention are immediately apparent to the person skilled in the art. In particular, the size of the receptacle space, respectively. of the socket area depending on the high-current cable dimensions so that the bare contact surfaces cannot be touched. The present invention also enables an electrical connection with a continuous insulation which, in the event of insufficient grounding, reliably prevents breakdowns and damage to the metallic housing which endanger humans.
According to the socket space, respectively. the receptacle space is dimensioned so that the conditions according to DIN 57470 (test finger) are met.
The invention will be explained in more detail below with the aid of an exemplary embodiment and with the aid of the figures.
Show it:
1 shows a cross section through a safety connector according to the invention;
2 shows a cross section through an associated safety socket;
3 shows a cross section through a safety plug and an associated safety socket in the assembled state;
Fig. 4 shows a cross section through an inventive connector for multiple power supply cables.
In the connector cross section shown in FIG. 1, the contact pin 3 is pressed on the cable side with a copper conductor 12 (for example 20 mm in diameter) in order to ensure good electrical contact. On the connection side, the contact pin 3 is sleeve-shaped. The inner part is lined with an electrically insulating inner sleeve 4, which inner sleeve 4 covers the end edge of the sleeve-shaped contact pin. The pin space 5 formed in this way is dimensioned such that a plug pin 6 of the socket 2 can be inserted in a form-fitting manner. The outside of the sleeve-shaped contact pin remains bare and serves as a contact surface for the electrical connection with a contact sleeve 24 of the socket 2. It is understood that this contact surface can be equipped with contact lamellae 17 to improve the electrical contact.
This sleeve-shaped contact pin part forms, together with the inner sleeve 4, a plug-in sleeve 8 which can be inserted into a plug-in sleeve space 9 of the socket 2. A protective sleeve 10 is attached to the contact pin 3 in such a way that an annular socket space 18 remains free on the connection side between the socket 8 and the protective sleeve 10. This socket space 18 is dimensioned such that a socket 19 of the socket 2 can be inserted therein. It is essential that the socket space 18 does not allow fingers to reach into it. The socket space 18 preferably has an opening of approximately 6 mm. The receptacle 10 is in particular made of an electrically insulating solid and has, for example. On its outside, a thread 20 with which the contact pin can be screwed into the connector housing 7.
This connector housing 7 is not the subject of the present invention and can be equipped in a known manner with clamping levers 21 and a protective cover 22.
A rubber-elastic sleeve 15 placed on the protective sleeve 10 has an electrically insulating and moisture-blocking effect, which further reduces the risk of leakage currents.
The cross section of the socket 2 shown in FIG. 2 shows a contact piece 23 according to the invention, which in turn is mechanically connected to a conductor 24 on the cable side. On the connection side, this contact piece 23 is shaped like a sleeve and has a centrally arranged plug pin 6 inside, which is dimensioned such that it can be inserted into the pin space 5 of the plug 1. In the socket 9 located between this plug 6 and this contact sleeve 24, the socket 8 of the plug 1 can be inserted frictionally. On the outside of the contact piece 23, a protective jacket 25 is applied, which covers the connection-side end edge of the contact sleeve. The inside of the contact sleeve 24 remains bare and serves as a contact surface for the electrical connection to the contact pin 3 of the plug 1.
The contact sleeve 24 forms with this protective jacket 25 a socket 19 which is dimensioned such that it can be inserted into the socket space 18 of the plug 1 with a friction fit. The contact sleeve 24 is made of an electrically insulating solid and, in a preferred embodiment, has a thread with which the entire contact piece 23 can be attached to a socket housing 26. This socket housing 26 can be equipped in a known manner with counterpart levers and a protective cover.
The electrical and mechanical functions of the individual components can be clearly seen from the cross section shown in FIG. 3. When plugged together, the plug 6 made of an insulating plastic lies in a form-fitting manner in the electrically insulating inner sleeve 4. The bare contact surfaces of the contact sleeve 24 and the contact pin 3 lie on one another in an electrically conductive manner. In order to ensure good contact, the respective contact surfaces can be equipped with contact lamellae 17 or are designed as a contact tulip in a known manner. The thickness of the contact pin depends on the dimension of the high-current cable. It goes without saying that the size of the contact surface by the depth of the socket space 18 and. of the receptacle 9 can be determined.
In any case, the width of the socket space 18 or. of the receptacle 9 according to the protection against accidental contact according to DIN 57470 (test finger).
The use of these contact sleeves according to the invention. Contact pins allow moisture-proof insulation 13 to be continuous between the cable insulation and the protective sleeve 10 on the one hand. to install the protective jacket 25 on the other hand. These insulations 13 can comprise a suitable shrink tube, a rubber-elastic sleeve or consist of immersed or cast solid insulation materials.
A further development of this preferred embodiment is shown in FIG. 4. In this embodiment, a plurality of current-carrying conductors 24 are electrically conductively connected to a collecting plate 31 via a compression sleeve 33. To reduce the electrical transition losses, elastic contact disks 32 are preferably inserted between the copper conductors 24 and the collecting plate 31. The centrally attached to this collector plate 31 contact piece 23 of the safety socket is formed on the connection side as a contact sleeve 24 and has a plug 6 in the interior thereof. A protective jacket 25 and a cast insulation 13 ensure the required electrical insulation against the socket housing 26. The associated plug is constructed in an analogous manner.
Essential to the invention is also in this embodiment, the diameter-independent connector with a socket 9 or. a socket space 18, which is narrow enough to ensure contact protection according to DIN 57470 (test finger).
It goes without saying that the embodiments described above are dimensioned or adapted according to the applications by the person skilled in the art without inventive intervention. can be shaped. In particular, the concentric structure described above can be replaced by a construction chosen with rectangular cross sections. The safety plug connection according to the invention is particularly suitable for the manual coupling and decoupling of electrical cables in railways, high-speed trains or other compositions of electrical machines, which are also operated by unskilled personnel.
