- nella fig. 1 una vista prospettica parziale di una lampada facente parte dell'apparecchiatura per realizzare il procedimento secondo l'invenzione che proietta la sua immagine luminosa sul tetto di una carrozzeria in modo che venga riflessa verso un osservatore;
- nella fig. 2 la vista prospettica dell'immagine della lampada percepita dall'osservatore quando essa è distorta per la presenza di una incurvatura avente la concavità rivolta verso l'alto;
- nella fig. 3 la sezione trasversale parziale dell'elemento di carrozzeria di fig. 1 mentre viene azionata una leva sagomata, pure facente parte dell'attrezzatura, per ottenere il riallineamento della lamiera;
- nella fig. 4 la sezione di un elemento scatolato di carrozzeria mentre viene azionata una leva sagomata dell'attrezzatura per ottenere il suo riallineamento;
- nella fig. 5 l'immagine riflessa non più distorta della lampada suddetta alla fine dell'intervento di riallineamento della lamiera;
- nella fig. 6 la vista laterale di un esempio di leva sagomata facente parte dell'apparecchiatura dell'invenzione;
The present invention relates to the field of repairs of sheet metal elements of the bodywork of motor vehicles which have concavities caused by impacts or similar events.
In the current state of the art, body repairers who have to eliminate gibbosity or concavity present on the bodywork sheets of motor vehicles must intervene in the vast majority of cases with procedures, long and expensive, of grouting the parts after stripping, and subsequent repainting.
This is because it is currently impossible for them to intervene differently since the sheets to be realigned are often part of a self-supporting box-like structure formed by two layers of sheet superimposed and spaced by means of cavity zones variously shaped and resulting from the conformation to be given to the different components to the in order to obtain the desired resistance to static and dynamic stresses. Even the so-called hammering of the parts, in the not very frequent cases where it is possible, does not prove to be suitable for carrying out work in a workmanlike manner, also because of the difficulty in carrying out an effective control of the result. In fact, the irregularities of the sheet are often considerably attenuated, but not impeccably eliminated.
For this reason it is preferred to fill the concavities with putty, in order to easily create a flat surface to be repainted.
This kind of intervention, however, as already mentioned, is very laborious and consequently expensive. Think of the cases of humpbacks or multiple bending caused for example by a hailstorm: the cost of repair becomes considerable, and moreover the external surface of the vehicle is definitively altered for the purpose of gloss and durability due to the existence of various areas thick stuffed with stucco.
The inventor of the present invention, in order to eliminate the problems of the type described above, has developed a procedure that allows to identify and repair quickly and flawlessly an indefinite number of damaged and curved areas without having to paint, stucco and repaint the parts.
The process object of the invention is characterized by what is expressed by the characterizing part of the attached claim 1.
An object suitable for carrying out the process in question also falls within the object of the invention.
The process of the invention and the aforementioned apparatus will now be described in more detail also with reference to the attached drawings, which represent:
- in fig. 1 is a partial perspective view of a lamp forming part of the apparatus for carrying out the method according to the invention which projects its luminous image onto the roof of a bodywork so that it is reflected towards an observer;
- in fig. 2 the perspective view of the image of the lamp perceived by the observer when it is distorted by the presence of a curvature having the concavity facing upwards;
- in fig. 3 the partial cross section of the bodywork element of fig. 1 while a shaped lever, also part of the equipment, is actuated to obtain the realignment of the sheet;
- in fig. 4 is a section of a boxed bodywork element while a shaped lever of the equipment is actuated to achieve its realignment;
- in fig. 5 the no longer distorted reflected image of the aforementioned lamp at the end of the sheet metal realignment intervention;
- in fig. 6 is a side view of an example of a shaped lever belonging to the apparatus of the invention;
- in fig. 7 the side view of another example of shaped lever.
The realization of the process, in the exemplary case that will be described, begins with the positioning of one or more lamps 1 (one in fig. 1) with linear development on a support member 2 with respect to which they can slide and rotate. In this way, the lamps can be arranged in a position parallel to the section of sheet metal involved in the treatment, for example substantially horizontal in the case of the roof, hood or trunk, and substantially vertical in the case of the sides. In doing this, we also proceed to fix the lamps at a height suitable to ensure that their image reflected by the sheet reaches the eye 3 of an observer, or rather of the operator in charge of the repair, when he is in a position suited to the operation to be performed.
The operator himself, with slight displacements of his visual point, "scrolls" the reflected image 4 of the lamps until it identifies, resulting in that distorted moment 4 min (fig. 2), one of the areas on which must intervene.
In fig. 2, the distorted image produced by a curvature of the sheet which makes it concave with respect to the outside, is shown as in the case of fig. 1; if the sheet is instead convex, the image will still be distorted, albeit with a different pattern of the reflected lines, which, instead of diverging, converge with each other and intersect on the vertex of the part of the curved surface (case not shown) .
At this point the said operator, who in the case of fig. 1 had previously connected a 5 min lever (fig. 6 and 7), specially shaped to intervene on that part of the motor vehicle, for example to a lateral rib of the roof 6 by means of a support hook 7, it will move the lever until it reaches its end 5 min (figs. 3 and 7) will be exactly in the center of the curved area 8 and therefore, by exercising in sequence a sequence of force pulses F on its other end 5 min min, it will exert a pressure P on the curved part until obtaining its perfect realignment, which will be confirmed by the fact that, after the operation, the reflected image 4 of the lamps will appear linear and no longer distorted.
In the event that excessive pressure P has inadvertently been exercised in the operations described above, which has caused the sheet metal to curve, with a convexity of the opposite part to that existing before the intervention, the inventor expects to exert a predetermined pressure in the opposite direction to the previous one using rounded tips or punches made of non-abrasive synthetic material (not shown).
In the case of interventions on other so-called "boxed" body parts, the inventor has foreseen to apply another type of levers 11 (fig. 4 and 6) shaped in such a way as to fit into the cavity of the shaped element and to embed themselves on a support point 10 provided by the same stiffening sheet 12, so that, operating in the same way as explained in the previous case, it is possible to realign the sheet 13 due to the pressure exerted by the free end 11 min of the lever in a direction almost perpendicular to the zone 9 where the sheet is curved.
The inventor plans to obtain a series of specially shaped levers for each motor vehicle in order to be able to intervene on any point of the bodywork, regardless of where it is located.
It is thus possible to obtain the realignment of all the damaged parts of a motor vehicle without, as mentioned, having to fill and repaint, and therefore the invention has achieved the aims intended by the inventor.
It is obvious that the operating details of the method may vary with respect to the preferred example described and illustrated so far.
Even the lamps and levers used in the equipment may be modified and have forms more suited to individual cases and to different needs, but processes and equipment falling within as described in the attached claims will in any case result in the scope of the protection conferred by this application. patent.
