The subject of the present invention is a bracelet link, in particular for a timepiece, as well as the bracelet equipped with these links, according to the preambles of claim 1 and claim 8, respectively.
Today there are a number of watch straps, the links of which are connected together by pins.
Among other problems that an inventor faces during the design, construction and development of a bracelet, there is that of the ease with which the adjustment to the wrist can be carried out, that of producing at a price of returns as low as possible and, finally, that of aesthetics which should in no case be sacrificed for the benefit of other requirements.
The present invention provides a particularly original and attractive solution to these various problems. This solution is defined in the characterizing part, on the one hand of claim 1 and, on the other hand, of claim 8.
The preferred embodiments and characters are the subject of the dependent claims of the two aforementioned independent claims.
The invention will be described in detail below, in support of the attached drawing, where
fig. 1 is a plan view with partial sections of the bracelet according to a first embodiment, FIGS. 2A, 2B and 2C are side views of several links assembled,
fig. 2D is a side view of a single link,
fig. 3 shows a plan view, partially in section, of a second embodiment of the links of the bracelet according to the invention and
fig. 4 is a side view of several assembled links corresponding to the second embodiment.
We can see in fig. 1 a strand of the bracelet 1 comprising a series of general reference links 2, a connecting element 3 mounted between the horns of a watch 4 and to which a first / last link 2 is connected by means of a retaining means 5, and a connecting element 6 connected, on the one hand, to a clasp 7 by means of a retaining means 8 and, on the other hand, to a last / first link 2.
Each link 2 has a central part 10, an intermediate part 11 extending the central part and a terminal or end part 12 extending the intermediate part. These parts extend on either side of a separation plane, the trace of which is symbolized by the end dashed line 9 and are offset from one another in the same direction. This separation plane and this trace 9 preferably constitute and according to the embodiments described by way of examples, a median plane and an axis of symmetry respectively.
Thus, the parts 10, 11, 13 are "distributed" around an imaginary curved line 13 of vertex 13 min. Again, this curve is preferably and according to the examples below a curve having the axis of symmetry axis 9.
According to a first embodiment, the link 2 has the stepped shape shown in FIG. 1. The male profile 14, located essentially on one side of the curve 13, of general appearance which will be described here as "convex", corresponds to the female profile 15, located essentially on the other side of the curve 13, of general appearance which will be described analogously as "concave", so as to allow a successive harmonious assembly of the different links 2.
The central part 10 is full. The intermediate part 11, essentially forming two branches or sub-parts 11A, 11B, is separated by a recess 18 allowing passage to the central part 10 of an adjacent link. The terminal part 12, essentially forming two branches or sub-parts 12A, 12B, is separated by a recess 19, allowing passage to the intermediate part 11 of this same adjacent link. The length between the shoulders (not referenced), resulting from the stepped shape, of the central part 10 is less than the length between the outer shoulders 11C, 11D of the intermediate part 11 and the length between the shoulders 11C, 11D is less than the length between the shoulders 12C, 12D, the latter forming the maximum length of the link.
Each link 2 is provided with two holes or advantageously bores of the same diameter, one 16 passing through the solid central part 10, the other 17 passing through the intermediate part 11, that is to say each of the sub-parts 11A, 11B. According to the example shown, the axes of these bores are orthogonal to the trace plane 9.
The bracelet, or each bracelet strand is composed of links as they have just been described by way of example and, as will be seen below, pins. The bracelet has a separation plane which will be assumed to be coincident, for simplicity, with the separation plane 9 of the links. We will therefore consider that this is also, preferably and according to the example, a median plane of trace 9.
The assembly of the links as well as the disassembly, link by link, is very easy to understand. For the purposes of the explanation, a distinction will be made, if necessary, between the links 2A, 2B, 2C, it being understood that they are all identical to each other and correspond to a link 2. Starting for example from the link 2C , the link 2B is, initially, placed against it, the profile 14 of the link 2C coming almost against the profile 15 of the link 2B, a slight clearance remaining however between the two profiles (the link 2C could just as well be the link qualified higher by last / first and its profile 15 would then come against the connecting element 6 having a complementary profile).
By this operation, the axes of the bore 16 of the central part 10 of the link 2C and of the bore 17 of the intermediate part 11 of the link 2B are located on the same support 21. In a second step, a reference pin general 20, referenced for the purposes of the explanation by 20C, is introduced into the bores 16, 17 of the two adjacent links 2C, 2B, the axis 21 of this pin 20C now merging with the axes of the aforementioned bores. It is clear that the diameter of the pin is chosen as a function of the diameter of the bores 16, 17; more particularly, the diameter of the pin is advantageously chosen so that the latter remains free in its housing 16, 17. Once the two links thus assembled, only the two ends (not referenced) of this pin 20C are still visible .
Thirdly, the link 2A is placed against the link 2B, so that, like what has just been described, the bores 16, 17 of the central and intermediate parts of the link 2B and 2A respectively. in the extension of one another, and that a new pin 20, referenced 20B, can be introduced into these bores. The three links 2C, 2B, 2A are assembled, while, at the same time, the end part 12 of the link 2A hides the ends of the pin 20C and prevents said pin from coming out of its housings, linking the latter in translation, the pin 20C can at most abut against one or / and the other internal face 12E (reference carried on one of these faces on the link 2C) of the terminal part 12.
These operations are then repeated, a new link 2 being placed against the link 2A before the introduction of the pin 20A (shown in the figure), and so on until the assembly of the first / last link 2 with the connecting element 3, the latter having a female profile (not referenced) matching the profile 15 of this first / last link 2.
It is understood that, if all the pins 20, that is to say the axes of these pins, extend parallel to one another, their length is however not subject to any particular precision. Indeed, it suffices, according to the embodiment described, that said length is equal to or less than the dimension separating the two shoulders 11C, 11D, and sufficiently greater, for satisfactory maintenance, to the dimension between the shoulders of the part central 10. More generally, the length of the pin will be defined so that its ends do not emerge from the profile 14 but are preferably flush or come close to it.
Disassembly is performed in the reverse direction. Considering again the three links 2A, 2B, 2C, the first / last link 2 being released from the connecting element 3 (it being understood that one can imagine that this first / last link 2 is the link referenced 2A) , the gou pille 20B can be easily extracted by pulling it out of its housing constituted by the bore of the central part of the link 2B and the bore of the intermediate part of the link 2A, after having pushed one of the two ends, these ends having become apparent again, which will allow the pin to be grasped by the other end. With the link 2A removed, the pin 20C can in turn be extracted, freeing the link 2B, and so on until the last / first link 2.
It will be observed that it is advantageous to provide that the connecting means 5 comprise a pin 20, the axial movement of this pin then having to be prevented or limited so as to prevent it from leaving its housing, by means of one of the multiple elements blocking or stopping known to those skilled in the art, so that the pin 20 can be released as simply as possible.
Figs. 2A, 2B, 2C are partial side views of a strand of the bracelet essentially revealing the terminal parts 12 of the links.
In fig. 2A, the general line of curvature of the strand, symbolized by fine dotted lines and referenced 22, is that of a deployment corresponding to a mean wrist turn: in this position, it is noted that the ends of the pins 20 are entirely masked each time by the end portions 12 of the links 2 in accordance with the explanation given above. In fig. 2B, the line of curvature 23 corresponds to a maximum deployment or opening, while in FIG. 2C, the line of curvature 24 corresponds to a minimum deployment or opening. In these two extreme positions, the end portions 12 must continue to fulfill their function of translational connection of the pins 20, so as to prevent the latter from leaving their respective housings.
Consequently, once a strand has been assembled, it is important that the freedom of articulation or the amplitude of "rotation" in one direction or the other remains limited.
This limitation on the amplitude of articulation around the pins results from the conformation and / or the assembly of the link. We can see in fig. 2D a side view of a link 2 of the first embodiment. According to this form, the end part 12 of the link has a rounded face 25 and a flat part 26, the intermediate part 11 two flat parts 27, 28 and the central part two flat parts 29, 30.
It is understood that once assembled together according to the process described above, it will possibly be possible to see, but only partially, the ends 20 of the pins, the amplitude of the articulation of the links between them being a function of on the one hand, of the chosen conformation of these flats and of the face 25, respectively of the profiles 14, 15 and, on the other hand, of the more or less tight assembly mode of the links between them, as described represented in the example , that is to say of the play remaining between the profiles 14, 15. In any case, the aforementioned linkage function in translation must remain ensured, while preserving a sufficient amplitude of articulation.
Fig. 3 shows a second embodiment of the links constituting the bracelet. Seen in plan, these links, of general reference 40, instead of being stepped, have the shape of a crescent, of axis of symmetry 41, corresponding to the trace of the median plane of the bracelet. The convex profile 14 min of a link is such that it follows the concave profile 15 min of an adjacent link, like the profiles 14, 15 of the first embodiment.
Similarly in the same way as in the first embodiment, each link has three zones offset from each other in the same direction with respect to the track 41, a solid central zone 42, comprising a bore 45, an intermediate zone 43 formed essentially of two sub-parts 43A and 43B separated (not entirely in this example) by a recess and symmetrical with respect to the plane 41, and a terminal zone 44, formed of two sub-parts 44A and 44B also separated by a recess resulting from the concavity and symmetrical with respect to plane 41.
Using, for example, the link referenced 40A in the figure, it can be seen that the bore 45 is not straight, but has the approximate shape of a V. The axes of the two branches of the V are referenced 51 and 52; their point of competition is on the axis 41 and is referenced 53. The axes 54 and 55 of the two identical bores 46 of the two sub-parts 43A and 43B of the intermediate part 43 have a similar orientation, but slightly more inclined than the axes 51, 52. The axes 54, 55 intersect at point 56 located on axis 41.
The assembly, disassembly and articulation processes of the links are in all respects analogous to those explained in support of the first embodiment, but instead of straight pins, the links 40 are connected to the means of curved pins 50, preferably made of spring steel, so as to allow their introduction into the bores described above. In the figure are shown two pins of the same reference 50, the axis of each of these also bearing a single reference 48. Like the axes of the pins 20 of the first embodiment, it can be seen that the axes 48 are also oriented parallel to each other. The point of intersection of the axis 48 with the trace 41 bears the reference 49. The point of tangency to the axis 48 at the point 49 is perpendicular to the axis of symmetry.
Fig. 4 shows four links 40 linked together, seen from the side. The same reasoning as that explained in support of the first embodiment, with regard to the limited articulation of the links around the pins and of the pin retaining function fulfilled by the terminal parts 44 is applicable by analogy.
It goes without saying that the links of the bracelet according to the invention can take any other form that it is possible to imagine, provided that each of these links meets the characteristics described above in support of the two preferred examples of execution. It will be understood that in the assembled state of the bracelet, the apparent flanks of the links, that is to say faces 12C, 12D of the terminal parts according to the first embodiment, similar faces not referenced of the terminal parts 44 (and partially of the visible faces of the intermediate parts, depending on whether the curvature of the link, seen in plan, is more or less large) of the second embodiment, can have any arbitrary shape that one can imagine.
Thus, the bracelet according to the invention makes it possible to ideally combine the simplicity of manufacture and assembly, the speed of adaptation of the bracelet to the wrist and the aesthetics, thanks to the multiple possible forms of presentation.
