The invention relates to a drip-provided spout for containers, in particular blow-molded handle bottles, such as those used for liquid detergents.
A known detergent bottle is designed as a handle bottle and has a subsequently fitted spout with a spout, which is provided with a longitudinal slot on the handle side. The pouring spout is surrounded by a collar which has an internal thread for screwing in a screw cap. The screw cap is cup-shaped and has an external thread. The rim of the cup, which is located at the bottom when the bottle is closed, serves as the closing edge by resting on the bottom of the space between the pouring spout and the collar when the closure is closed. If drops run down the pouring spout after pouring liquid, they get into the space between the pouring spout and the collar and can then flow back into the bottle space through the longitudinal slot in the pouring spout.
This known spout has a number of disadvantages. A particularly big disadvantage is that it cannot be made in one piece with the bottle. It must therefore be inserted in the correct position after the bottle has been manufactured. The two-piece production of the bottle has the disadvantage that sealing problems can arise at the junction of the bottle body and the spout. The material required for the spout made of plastic by injection molding is relatively large. Another disadvantage is that the rim of the cup is usually wetted with liquid, with the risk that it will be put down with the rim of the cup after the screw cap has been screwed on, and the storage surface will be contaminated as a result.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a spout for containers provided with a drip catcher, which at least partially avoids the disadvantages mentioned. In particular, a spout construction is to be found which allows a blow-molded container to be produced in one piece with the spout, so that the production of the container can be rationalized and the material consumption can be reduced. The invention provides a spout for containers provided with a drip catcher, which has a pouring part with a pouring channel and is characterized in that the pouring part has a groove on the outside of the wall for collecting droplets, which leads to the outlet channel for droplets caught in the container attributed. Such a spout can be molded in one piece together with the container in the blowing process.
This not only simplifies the manufacture of the container, but also saves a considerable amount of material because the production in the blowing process enables the formation of very thin walls. The pouring part expediently has a pouring lip, the groove running under the pouring lip from one side to the other. This results in a very simple construction, which is very well suited for the production of the container in the blowing process.
The invention also relates to a pouring arrangement with a matching closure. A sealing cylinder is advantageously arranged in the closure which, when the closure is attached, extends into the pouring channel and bears against its inner wall or an inner wall section in order to prevent liquid from flowing out. However, an annular protuberance can also be provided below the groove, which is used to catch and drain off drops, which, when the closure is attached, bears against the inner wall thereof in order to prevent liquid from flowing out. In both cases, liquid that has got into the cap can flow back into the bottle when the bottle is brought upright. This prevents contamination of the thread, among other things.
In order to promote a backflow of the liquid, the annular protuberance is advantageously arranged obliquely, preferably parallel, to the groove.
The spout can have a thread below the groove for fastening the screw cap. The bottle can be easily closed and opened again with a screw cap. The spout and the matching screw cap can be designed so that the slope of the groove is the same as the pitch of the thread of the screw cap, and that the screw cap has a wiper that is adapted to the cross section of the groove. This training is particularly useful if the container is used for liquids with a relatively high viscosity. When the screw cap is turned, the scraper always returns the liquid that has flowed into the groove into the container.
The spout advantageously has a sealing surface beneath the thread, against which the closure can lie in a sealing manner. Since the sealing surface is located in an area where there are generally no drops of liquid, the risk is low that the lower part of the closure is contaminated with liquid and the storage surface becomes contaminated when the closure is removed.
The spout and screw cap can be designed such that the spout has locking means which, when the screw cap is placed on the spout, interact with corresponding locking means of the screw cap in order to hold the screw cap securely in the closed position. For example, the spout can have one or more protuberances on the lower part, which can snap into a groove of the screw cap.
The invention also relates to a blow-molded container which is provided in one piece with a spout according to one of claims 1 to 3. As already mentioned before, such a container can be manufactured particularly efficiently, inexpensively and with low material consumption.
The invention also relates to a method for producing a container, which is characterized in that, after blowing, the upper part of the blown article is cut off at an angle which is greater than the slope of the groove in such a way that a pouring lip is formed below which runs the groove from side to side. This method allows a particularly efficient production of the container according to the invention.
Embodiments of the invention will now be described with reference to the drawing. It shows:
1 is a one-piece blow molded bottle with the spout,
2 the bottle of FIG. 1 seen from the side, the part separated after blowing being shown in dashed lines,
3 shows a second exemplary embodiment of the invention, the design of a screw closure suitable for the pouring spout also being shown,
4 a screw cap with a sealing cylinder fitting into the pouring channel,
5 shows a further exemplary embodiment of the invention, in which a seal is made on the outer wall of the spout,
Fig. 6 shows the formation of a spout as in Fig. 3, but designed for subsequent attachment to a container.
In the embodiment according to Figs. 1 and 2, the plastic, e.g. Polyethylene or polypropylene, existing container 11 formed as a handle bottle, which has a handle 13. The spout 10 is formed in one piece with the handle bottle 11 and therefore, like the bottle body, has a relatively thin wall. A pouring lip 17 is formed on the tubular pouring part 15. On the outside of the wall of the pouring part 15 there is a groove 19 which leads to the pouring channel 21 in order to return drops flowing down the lip 17 back into the container 11. In order to enable automatic return, the groove 19 has a slope to the pouring spout 21. The groove 19 runs below the pouring lip 17 from one side to the other. Below the groove 19 there is a thread 23 for fastening a screw cap.
A screw cap 30 is shown by way of example in FIG. 3. In the embodiment of FIGS. 1 and 2, the groove 19 has a greater slope than the pitch angle of the thread of the screw cap. As will be shown later with reference to FIG. 3, however, it is expedient in certain cases if the slope of the groove 19 is the same size as the pitch of the thread of the screw closure.
Below the thread 23 there is a sealing surface 25, against which a screw cap can lie sealingly.
The described container 11 with spout 10 can be produced in one piece by blow molding with little material expenditure. So it is possible to manufacture containers with 1 l content with a weight of 30 g. After blowing, the upper part 27, which is shown in broken lines in FIG. 2, is cut off along the parting plane 29. This gives the spout 10 the desired shape with the pouring lip 17, under which the groove 19 runs from one side to the other and opens into the pouring channel 21 (FIG. 1).
In the embodiment of FIG. 3, the spout 10 in turn has a spout lip 17, below which the groove 19 for receiving and draining drops into the spout runs. In contrast to the embodiment of FIG. 1, the slope of the groove 19 corresponds to the pitch of the thread 23.
The screw cap 30 has a thread 31 corresponding to the thread 23 of the spout 10. Furthermore, the screw cap 30 has a scraper 33 which fits into the groove 19. Furthermore, a protuberance or protrusion 35 is provided on the spout 10 min, which can snap into a groove 37 of the screw cap 30 when the screw cap 30 is in the closed position. This prevents the screw cap from becoming loose, for example due to vibrations during transport. This is particularly important when the pitch of the screw cap thread is relatively large.
FIG. 4 shows a 30-minute variant of the screw closure from FIG. 3. This screw cap 30 minutes has a sealing cylinder 38, the cone 40 of which extends when the screw cap is screwed onto the spout 10 minutes into the pouring channel 21 and comes to rest on the inner surface of the conical section 40 minutes of the spout. This prevents liquid from flowing out into the space 44 when the bottle is closed. Instead of a conical section 40 minutes, an annular protuberance could also be provided on the cylindrical inner wall of the pouring channel 21, against which the sealing cylinder 38 comes to rest when the screw cap is screwed on.
The embodiment of FIG. 5 differs from that of FIG. 3 essentially in that an annular protuberance or projection 42 is provided on the spout for 10 minutes under the groove 19, which protrudes against the inner wall of the screw cap for 30 minutes when screwed on is coming. This creates a seal. Any liquid that has flowed into space 44 flows back into the bottle when it is brought into the upright position. This is favored by the oblique arrangement of the annular protuberance 42, since this creates a gradient which directs liquid into the pouring channel 21 (FIG. 1).
Although it is preferred that the container 11 be made in one piece with the spout using the blowing method, it is also possible to manufacture the spout separately, e.g. in plastic injection molding. Such a spout 10 min min min is shown in Fig. 6. The outer shape is the same as in Fig. 3 with the exception of the lower part 41 for insertion into a container. On the lower part 41 there is a flange 43 with a sealing surface 45 for the screw cap. Lugs 47 are provided to snap into corresponding recesses in the container in order to ensure a firm connection to the container.
Various changes are possible without departing from the inventive concept. For example, a type of bayonet lock would also be possible instead of a screw lock. This in turn would make it possible to design the groove for receiving the drops without a slope, because the scraper could then also move horizontally.
