Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft einen Schnuller für zahnende Kleinkinder nach dem Oberbegriff des unabhängigen Patentanspruches. Diese zahnende Phase erstreckt sich in der Regel über das Kindesalter von 2 bis 24 Monaten. Es sind verschiedene Gegenstände bekannt, die eigens für zahnende Kleinkinder geschaffen wurden, damit diese darauf beissen können, um dem Zahndurchbruch nachzuhelfen und die Schmerzen zu lindern. Zu diesen Gegenständen gehören zum Beispiel Beissringe, die beim Daraufbeissen einen kühlenden und damit schmerzlindernden Effekt entfalten. Bekannt sind auch besondere schmerzlindernde Mittel, die auf das Zahnfleisch aufgetragen ihre Wirkung entfalten. Es gibt zum Beispiel Zahnkügel-chen zum Lutschen, die ein schmerzlinderndes Mittel enthalten. Diese Zahnkügelchen werden jedoch von den Kindern oft verschluckt und somit ist auch die Dosierung problematisch. Weiter gibt es spezielle Zahn-Gels, die auf das Zahnfleisch aufgetragen werden können und eine lokal anästhesierende Wirkung haben. Die Nachteile solcher Gels liegen vorallem bei deren Applikation.
