The invention relates to a safety device with a protective hood on a circular saw according to the preamble of claim 1.
Usual protective hoods on circular saws are arranged in such a way that they have to be removed by hand and put back over the saw blade. This is generally very dangerous because the protective hood is always forgotten. With circular saws on building sites, where different people cut different workpieces in rapid succession, the danger is particularly acute.
The object of the invention is therefore to create a device with a protective hood on a circular saw which is particularly suitable for construction and which is as foolproof as possible.
To achieve this object, the device characterized in claim 1 is proposed.
In the invention, the protective hood is therefore in the rest position on the table and covers the saw blade there. If a workpiece is now pushed on the table to the saw blade in the feed direction, the workpiece hits the inlet side of the protective hood. Because this inlet side is inclined from the top to the table in the feed direction, the workpiece lifts the protective hood that rests on the workpiece until the cutting process is complete. As soon as the workpiece has been pushed far enough, the protective hood lowers back onto the table. This is made economically advantageous and reliable by the features mentioned in the characterizing part of claim 1, so that the risk of accidents is at least considerably reduced.
The protective hood axis is preferably arranged above and in front of the saw blade axis in the feed direction, so that the inlet side of the protective hood can pivot back to the table or back to the table when the workpiece is still being sawn. This significantly increases security.
Even earlier, the safety hood is pivoted back and swings back to the table if, in a more preferred manner, the protective hood axis is arranged above and preferably in front of the saw blade in the feed direction.
In order to avoid that the protective hood can tip backwards, whereby the saw blade would be exposed, the device is preferably designed such that when the protective hood is raised, the support arm is pivoted up on its inlet side. For this purpose, suitable stops between the protective hood and the support arm can be provided.
The inlet side of the protective hood is preferably curved somewhat convexly, so that its point touched by a workpiece forms an angle of approximately 42 degrees with the table top. You can influence the lifting process favorably.
If at least one adjustable compensating spring is preferably provided, the weight with which the protective cover rests on the workpiece can be partially compensated in such a way that the protective cover can be lifted easily enough, but still has a stabilizing effect on the workpiece.
Because on construction sites sawing has to be carried out very often, it is particularly advantageous if the protective hood preferably has a viewing opening on its inlet side, which viewing opening should naturally extend far enough towards the saw blade.
In particular, in order to prevent chips from escaping through the viewing opening, it is preferably provided that the viewing opening is shielded by a chip protection device which can lie outside the field of vision.
The transparent or even see-through design of the protective hood is preferred for safety reasons, because then the danger can be recognized rather than when it is covered.
An impact-resistant, robust plastic is therefore particularly suitable for the protective hood.
In order not to wear out the protective hood itself, interchangeable runners are preferably provided on it, which can only be given a warning color. Such runners can be made of a particularly suitable plastic in the form of snap-on profiles.
The invention is discussed below, for example, using the purely schematic drawing of a currently preferred embodiment. Show it:
1 is a side view of the device according to arrow I in Fig. 2,
Fig. 2 is a plan view according to arrow II in Fig. 1 and
3 to 6 several stages of the work based on the smaller representations similar to FIG. 1.

221 front of 2.
222 saw blade axis.

3 material to be cut, in Fig. 3 to 6 a bar.
1 to 3, the device is still shown in the rest position, in which the protective hood 16 covers the saw blade 22 projecting above the table 21 and thereby rests on the table 21.
In Fig. 3 one can see the beam-shaped workpiece 3 lying on the table 21, which just came into contact with the feed side 162 of the protective hood 16 when advancing in the feed direction Z.
By pushing in the feed direction Z, the workpiece 3 gradually gets under the protective hood that is being lifted, which, as shown in FIG. 4, is initially pivoted together with the support arm 13 about the support arm axis 12, because the stops 161 on the support arm prevent this the protective hood is already pivoting about the protective hood axis 15.
Only when the workpiece 3, as shown in FIG. 5, has reached below the protective hood pivot axis 15 and has been pushed slightly below it, does the protective hood again lie horizontally by pivoting about the protective hood axis 15.
If the workpiece then moves further in the direction of the feed direction Z, the protective hood 16 tilts forward about the protective hood axis 15, as shown in FIG. 6.
Finally, after passage of the workpiece, the protective hood 16 together with the support arm 13 returns to the rest position shown in FIGS. 1 to 3.
So there is always excellent protection, but you can still look through the viewing opening 163 (Fig. 1) and in the protection of the chip protection 164 on the saw blade and saw after tearing.
