Abstract

In an image, in particular a bright photographic image for publicity purposes, at least two levels of brightness are introduced not by affecting the subject before taking the photograph nor the pigmented layers, but by varying the emitted light/diffused light ratio of areas of the substrate arbitrarily chosen by the operator.

Description

This invention relates to the light advertising image, and more particularly to that which uses a light box.

Light advertising is well known, as is the fact that light intensity increases the attractiveness of such advertising.

The graphic designer strives to give the message maximum impact through design and colors. One can also imagine that a neon tube could be formed and placed in such a way that it will bring out the main message with maximum impact. The possibility exists, but its application is unlikely because of its price and because it will be impossible to precisely define the important parts of a graphic composition of the parts of less interest.

The only possibility known to date for bringing out an important subject in a light advertisement consists in the positioning of the subject in the middle of a black background increasing by this artifice the visual light force of the message to underline.

The present invention elegantly and easily solves the problems posed, while being efficient and inexpensive in its execution. It solves these problems using an image according to the characterizing part of claim 1. According to the invention, it suffices to control the light intensity transmitted from behind the color pigment forming the advertising image by acting on the print support.

In a variant, it is possible to print a certain type of varnish which has the wetting effect of the oil and which makes the paper in the printed area more transparent.

In another variant, a gray solid color is printed, preferably on the back of the light image, covering the areas of least interest. The dorsal print of the gray solid prevents alteration of the colors of the print.

In the variant DIASEC JOUR + NUIT (registered trademark of DIASEC-SOVILLA) which is executed by superimposing 2 photographic prints in paper and where only one of the two prints has been film-coated and free of any paper fibers, the message is also removed behind the message more important any paper fiber which is in the back of the 2nd color print. The light intensity increases by about 40% and makes the colors burst with maximum intensity and depth.

In the variant using photographic films for light boxes of the CIBACHROME CL type (registered trademark of Ciba-Geigy) as a base and which simultaneously have a layer used for the diffusion of light, the diffusing layer is removed, which is in the back of the film and we replace it with a more transparent light diffuser. By analogy, we work with transparent slide films using 2 diffusers with a different transparency force.
