Abstract

The thermometer includes a coiled bimetallic strip (2) which is able to rotate a shaft (3) in guide bearings. One of these bearings exerts a force in order to dampen oscillations of the mechanism. The shaft carries a drum with a scale (6) having graduations (12) arranged in a helicoidal pattern. The drum turns within a transparent tube (7) which includes a vertical reference marker (13). The tube serves as a magnifying lens. The thermometer includes a support loop (14 or 15). ADVANTAGE - Thermometer covers range minus 60 deg.C to plus 90 deg.C.

  L'invention concerne un thermomètre mécanique de petit format destine à être porté sur soi et offrant une gamme de températures d'environ 100 DEG C. Ce thermomètre est caractérisés en ce qu'il comporte:
 - un corps solidaire d'une partie motrice en bimétal entraînant un axe guidé par un premier palier,
 - un tambour-cadran solidaire en rotation dudit axe et portant des graduations disposées hélicoïdalement,
 - un tube transparant solidaire dudit corps, qui entoure ledit tambour et porte un trait de repère parallèle à l'axe du tambour, et
 - un capuchon muni d'un deuxième palier, la lecture de la température étant définie par la position relative des graduations et du repère. 



  Cette construction utilise un système de spiral bimétallique appelé aussi bimétal, que l'on rencontre dans la plupart des thermomètres à usages multiples. 



  Elle a pour but de permettre à quiconque de porter facilement et agréablement un instrument de mesure des températures de la vie quotidienne telles que celles:
 - de l'eau, par exemple pour le bain,
 - de la neige, par exemple pour le fartage,
 - de l'air ambiant, par exemple pour s'habiller correctement,
 et ceci dans des plages extrêmes de -60 DEG C à +90 DEG C. 



  Dans une variante préférentielle, l'axe portant le tambour-cadran pivote dans des paliers de guidage dont l'un au moins est muni d'un frein à friction pour amortir les vibrations du bilame sans nuire à la mesure, et éventuellement incorporer un système anti-chocs. 



  En outre, on peut prévoir d'usiner la partie du tube transparent portant le trait de repère en forme de loupe, de manière à faciliter la lecture. 



  Le capuchon est façonné de manière à recevoir un moyen de suspension tel que boucle ou clip. Il peut également être muni d'un objet, notamment d'une boussole, d'un affichage de l'heure ou d'une pointe servant à écrire. 



  Le dessin annexé représente, à titre d'exemple non limitatif, une forme d'exécution de l'objet de l'invention. 



  La figure unique est une vue en coupe longitudinale. 



  La forme du capteur-corps 1 offre la propriété de transmettre rapidement la température à l'élément  bimétallique 2 qui, sous l'action des différences de température, s'enroule ou se déroule, entraînant l'axe 3 qui lui est associé en rotation dans un palier 4 de forme ad hoc, pour offrir une résistance minime en matériau antifriction. L'axe 3 porte un tambour-cadran 6 très léger, comportant des graduations 12 disposées en spirale et correspondant aux différentes températures à mesurer. 



  Les graduations 12 du tambour-cadran 6 sont arrangées de façon à améliorer la lecture, qui s'effectue par rapport à un trait de repère 13 vertical, imprimé à l'intérieur d'un tube 7 en matière non conductrice et transparente et dont la forme permet d'agrandir la vision. Ce tube 7 est solidaire du corps 1 et d'un capuchon 9 portant un palier arrière 8, la fixation entre le corps 1 et le tube 7, et celle entre le tube et le capuchon 9 étant réalisées de façon à obtenir une étanchéité satisfaisante de l'instrument. 



   Le capuchon 9 peut être équipé d'un trou 14 de fixation d'une boucle, d'un clip 15 ou de tout autre moyen de suspension ou de fixation du thermomètre. 



  Une dernière fonction faisant l'objet de l'invention est la réalisation d'un frein 5 évitant toute vibration angulaire produite par l'élasticité du bilame 2. Le palier avant 4 est partie intégrante d'une douille chambrée 10, remplie d'une pâte spéciale graisse plus additif, qui a la propriété de freiner l'axe 3 qui traverse cette chambre. Ce frein 5 est en même temps un élément antichoc puisque muni d'une pastille-piston 11 tournant dans la pâte. 



  
 



  The invention relates to a mechanical thermometer of small format intended to be carried on oneself and offering a range of temperatures of approximately 100 DEG C. This thermometer is characterized in that it comprises:
 - a body integral with a bimetal drive part driving an axis guided by a first bearing,
 a drum-dial integral in rotation with said axis and carrying graduations arranged helically,
 a transparent tube integral with said body, which surrounds said drum and carries a reference line parallel to the axis of the drum, and
 - a cap provided with a second bearing, the temperature reading being defined by the relative position of the graduations and of the mark.



  This construction uses a bimetallic hairspring system also called bimetal, which is found in most multi-purpose thermometers.



  Its purpose is to allow anyone to easily and comfortably wear an instrument for measuring the temperatures of daily life such as:
 - water, for example for the bath,
 - snow, for example for waxing,
 - ambient air, for example to dress properly,
 and this in extreme ranges from -60 DEG C to +90 DEG C.



  In a preferred variant, the axis carrying the drum-dial pivots in guide bearings, at least one of which is provided with a friction brake to damp the vibrations of the bimetallic strip without harming the measurement, and possibly incorporating a system anti-shock.



  In addition, provision can be made to machine the part of the transparent tube carrying the reference mark in the form of a magnifying glass, so as to facilitate reading.



  The cap is shaped so as to receive a suspension means such as a loop or clip. It can also be fitted with an object, in particular a compass, a time display or a writing tip.



  The appended drawing represents, by way of nonlimiting example, an embodiment of the subject of the invention.



  The single figure is a longitudinal section view.



  The shape of the sensor-body 1 offers the property of rapidly transmitting the temperature to the bimetallic element 2 which, under the action of temperature differences, is wound or unwound, driving the axis 3 which is associated with it in rotation in a bearing 4 of ad hoc shape, to offer minimal resistance in anti-friction material. The axis 3 carries a very light drum-dial 6, having graduations 12 arranged in a spiral and corresponding to the different temperatures to be measured.



  The graduations 12 of the dial drum 6 are arranged so as to improve the reading, which is carried out with respect to a vertical reference line 13, printed inside a tube 7 made of non-conductive and transparent material and the shape enlarges vision. This tube 7 is integral with the body 1 and a cap 9 carrying a rear bearing 8, the fixing between the body 1 and the tube 7, and that between the tube and the cap 9 being made so as to obtain a satisfactory seal of the instrument.



   The cap 9 can be equipped with a hole 14 for fixing a loop, a clip 15 or any other means for suspending or fixing the thermometer.



  A final function which is the subject of the invention is the production of a brake 5 preventing any angular vibration produced by the elasticity of the bimetallic strip 2. The front bearing 4 is an integral part of a chambered socket 10, filled with a special fat plus additive paste, which has the property of braking the axis 3 which passes through this chamber. This brake 5 is at the same time an anti-shock element since it is provided with a pellet-piston 11 rotating in the dough.

Thermomètre mécanique de petit format destiné à être porté sur soi et offrant une gamme de températures d'environ 100 DEG C, caractérisé en ce qu'il comporte: - un corps (1) solidaire d'une partie motrice en bimétal (2) entraînant un axe (3) guidé par un premier palier (4), - un tambour-cadran (6) solidaire en rotation dudit axe et portant des graduations (12) disposées hélicoïdalement, - un tube transparant (7) solidaire dudit corps (1), qui entoure ledit tambour (6) et porte un trait de repère (13) parallèle à l'axe du tambour, et - un capuchon (9) muni d'un deuxième palier (8), la lecture de la température étant définie par la position relative des graduations (12) et du repère (13).       1.
