DESCRIPTION The invention relates to a method for controlling the juicing of organic products by means of a press which is provided with a press chamber having a drainage device and a drivable press member.
For this purpose, mainly mechanically, pneumatically or hydraulically operated presses are used, the pressing member being predominantly formed as a piston or flexible membrane. The entire pressing process takes place in several pressing cycles, which are carried out in subsequent intervals. During a pressing cycle, the pressing member is initially pressed persistently against the mash found in the pressing room and then pulled back into a rest position. During this return stroke movement, the mash made of fruit, grapes or the like is loosened for a certain time, for example by rotating the press container.
With this discontinuous method of operation, the time required for the mash batch to be juiced is of crucial importance for the economic benefit of a press. This means a high juice yield with the shortest possible total dwell time for the process while avoiding harmful effects on the juice obtained. Due to its diversity, this requirement places high demands on the task.
It is therefore the task of the expert to create a method for controlling the juicing of organic, primarily agricultural products such as fruit, vegetables, grapes or the like. Fruits by means of a press with which a high juice yield with a relatively short total time and high economic benefits can be achieved without loss of quality. At the same time, the apprenticeship to be carried out should convey the implementation of ideal juicing processes and the saving in energy expenditure and wear.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the pressing stroke of a pressing cycle is ended at the earliest when the maximum average juice output obtained during this pressing cycle is reached.
The press cycle has lasted since the interruption of the press stroke of the previous press cycle and includes the return stroke of the press member as well as a possible loosening phase and the press stroke of this press cycle. The first pressing cycle after filling the press is affected by the method according to the invention insofar as it starts the procedural procedure immediately upon reaching the maximum average juice output at the end of this pressing stroke.
The duration of a pressing cycle depends on the maximum average juice output of two subsequent pressing cycles, the average juice output corresponding to the amount of juice obtained in the cycle time used for this purpose as an average value.
The maximum average juice output LQ of a pressing cycle is calculated from the amount of juice Q per unit of time gained during a certain time, which increases more sharply at the beginning of the pressing stroke and then reaches the maximum value of the juice output due to the decreasing pressability of the pressed material. At this critical point, optimum economy is achieved with every single press cycle.
A further improvement in economy over several pressing cycles in the juicing of agricultural products, which has been confirmed by tests, can be achieved or occurs when the pressing stroke of a pressing cycle only after reaching the maximum average juice output LQ (obtained from this pressing cycle). K ... K) is ended. This general definition takes into account the subsequent pressing cycle, the maximum average juice output of which is known to be lower than that of the previous cycle, and reduces the juice output difference of two pressing cycles in favor of the economy of the process.
A further benefit can be achieved if the pressing stroke of a pressing cycle is not ended after the expected maximum average juice output LQ (K) of the next pressing cycle, which takes account of the gentle mash treatment.
It proves optimal to end the pressing stroke of a pressing cycle when the current juice output Q reaches the expected maximum average juice output LQ of the next pressing cycle, so that over-pressing of the mash can be avoided under favorable economic conditions. These procedures are based on the comparison of the current juice output with the expected maximum average juice output of the next pressing cycle and are particularly suitable for juicing fruit, fruits, grapes or other agricultural products.
As a device for carrying out the method according to the invention, a press proves to be advantageous in such a way that the juice outlet arrangement has a measuring sensor designed as a flow meter, which is connected to a processor and this to a device controlling the drive elements of the press.
Further details and advantages of the invention result from the subsequent description and the drawing, to which express reference is made to all details not described in the text. 1 shows a schematic representation of the method according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows a schematic representation of the method according to the invention in an improved version, and FIG. 3 shows a schematic device for carrying out the method.
Fig.1 gives a graphic representation of the sequence of the process for controlling the juicing of organic products, primarily fruit, fruits, grapes or the like. Agricultural products, using a press using a quantity (Q) / time (T) diagram. During the first pressing cycle within the time T, the pressing member moves out of the rest position against the mash and remains in the pressing position until the maximum average juice output LQ from this pressing cycle has been reached.
The juice yield initially increases more and later flattens, with the amount of juice Q steadily increasing, while on the other hand the mean juice performance, i.e. H. the average amount of juice reached up to the assumed point in time after its maximum value has developed is decreasing. In addition to these parameters, the curve of the current juice output Q increases steeply at the beginning and, after reaching the maximum output, falls with almost the same slope and is asymptotic.
Below the vertex of the Q curve is the change point on the middle juice performance curve, after which the increasing increasing average juice performance changes into a section flatter towards the apex and then drops again. The vertex is at the same time the interface of the average juice output LQ and the current juice output Q, which is determined using a flow meter and computer. From this point on, the pressing process should be ended and the next pressing cycle should be initiated. This begins with the withdrawal of the pressing member and is shown in FIG. 1 within the time interval TI.
The loosening of the mash, for example by turning the press container, can already start during the retraction of the pressing member. The withdrawal of the pressing member is indicated in FIG. 1 by the characters TR and the loosening by TA. The duration of the individual press cycles depends on the process sequence, it is variable. The current juice output is reduced with increasing pressing cycles.
FIG. 2 shows the process sequence according to the invention with the start of the press cycle being delayed compared to the procedure of FIG. 1; H. the return stroke of the pressing member takes place after the maximum average juice output has been reached. This measure is based on the fact that the juicing performance of the pressing cycles is reduced in the course of the pressing process.
In order to avoid a high juice performance gradient that affects the economy of the pressing process, the next pressing cycle can be carried out by decommissioning or return stroke movement of the pressing element after the maximum value of the average juice performance has been achieved, this procedure having to be based on the probability of empirical values occurring. It should be noted that the time delay Kv does not drop below the maximum average juice output value to be expected from the next pressing cycle.
Alternatively, the pressing stroke of a pressing cycle can be ended when the instantaneous power Q corresponds to the expected maximum average juice output of the next pressing cycle.
As a device for carrying out the method according to the invention, a press of the known type is used, to the juice outlet arrangement of which a flow meter as a sensor is connected to a processor, which controls the drive elements of the press to suit the prevailing conditions.
3 u. a. a receptacle 3 or the like, which can be connected to the outlet arrangement 2 of the press 9 and is provided with a wall 4 designed as an overflow. A measuring line 5 which opens into the collecting trough 3 from below is provided with a pressure measuring device 6 as a measuring transmitter which measures the level changes occurring during the individual pressing cycles and forwards them to a processor 7.
Of course, a float, ultrasound or a pressure cell at the bottom of the sump 3 could be used to measure the level changes in the sump 3. On the basis of the values registered by a processor 7, control is exerted on the drive elements of the press 9. At the end of each press cycle, the drip pan 3 is emptied via a separate line 10, with a slide 12 controllable by the processor 7 or manually being provided for this purpose. The collecting trough 3 itself is designed with a bottom part 11 set back upwards, so that the juice can flow into the area of the measuring line 5.
