Abstract

The complementary hand (7) is driven by the movement (1) at a constant angular velocity synchronised with the hour hand (2.1) when the flat portion (3) of a plane differential gear, concentric with the hands, is held motionless. The flat portion (3) can be moved by a manual corrector through an angle sufficient to offset the complementary hand (7) without effect on its synchronism. The deg. of offset is indicated by a selector ring (11) whose edge pivots in a recess (1.11) in the ring (1.1) underlying the dial (10). Markings on the selector ring (11) appear in a window (10.1). USE/ADVANTAGE - For displaying local times pertaining to different zones. New supplementary indications can be given without adaptation of basic movement necessitating extra space and energy consumption incompatible with slim quartz watches.
