BESCHREIBUNG
DESCRIPTION
The invention relates to a method for the continuous production of a filler tape electrode for joining and deposit welding as well as for inoculation and modification purposes in metallurgical process engineering, in which a tube is formed from a strip and is charged with a filling of metallic and / or mineral granulate components, whereupon the filled tube is rolled into a flexible filler tape in a stretch-reducing operation, and a filler tape electrode which is manufactured according to the method.
It is known to produce filler tape electrodes that have a filling of metallic and / or mineral components in a batch process.
For the production of such filling tape electrodes, a metallic tape is assumed, which is formed into a tube and welded on its longitudinal edges. Granules of metallic and / or mineral components are filled into the interior of this tube as a filling. Then the tube with the filling is subjected to a vibrating operation in which the filling is compressed.
When compaction is complete, the pipe is rolled into a strip in a stretch reduction operation, with the filling inside.
This type of production is initially complex because the production cannot be carried out in a continuous process, but rather takes place discontinuously. Furthermore, a tape with a relatively large wall thickness, e.g. 1.8 mm are assumed, so that very large forming capacities are required to roll the relatively thick-walled tube with a compressed filling into a strip, the wall thickness of which is approximately 1 mm. In addition, it is not possible to produce a tape of any length, since the tube with the filling cannot exceed a certain length due to the vibrating operation.
This is where the invention comes in, which is based on the object of designing a method of the type described in the introduction in such a way that a filler tape electrode can be produced in any length in a continuous manufacturing process and the production capacity can thereby be increased. The method according to the invention is also intended to be able to reduce the required rolling power.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the band is shaped in a channel shape, the granulate components are introduced into the channel-shaped band, the longitudinal edges of the band are bent and welded, whereupon the tube formed in this way before the stretching reduction operation is compressed the powder filling is deformed into a band. The fact that after the longitudinal welding of the tube a deformation operation is carried out without a substantial reduction in cross-section, there is no need for compression by vibrating and it can be assumed that the tapes used to shape the tube are much thinner than the wall thickness required for vibrating tubes can have.
The invention further comprises a filling band electrode, which enables an optimal application of the method. This object is achieved in that the starting strip has a wall thickness of less than 1.0 mm and the finished rolled filler strip has a strip thickness of 1.0-3.0 mm.
It is known to produce round wires with a powder filling in a continuous manufacturing process in any length (EP-A-3 370). In this known method, the cored wire is produced as a powder-filled tube from a metallic band, the channel first being used to form a channel into which the powder is introduced, whereupon the channel is deformed and welded into a tube. After welding, the welding bead formed on the tube by welding is leveled and the tube is calibrated before it is reduced to the final diameter by a pulling operation. However, this method is not suitable for the production of filler tapes, since a circular wire cross section is required for the pulling operation.
But even if a stretch reduction operation is planned after welding, this requires a circular wire cross-section for the compaction of the filling.
The invention is shown in the drawing in one embodiment and described below. Show it:
Fig. 1 is a schematic representation of a continuous production of filler tape electrodes and
Fig. 2 is a schematic representation of the cross sections formed in the manufacture of filler tape electrodes of the metallic tape used for the manufacture.
In the plant for the continuous production of filler tape electrodes shown schematically in FIG
1 denotes a roll of the tape used as the starting material for the production of the filling tape electrode. The
Volume 2 first passes through a station 3 for smoothing the
Band edges. In a subsequent forming station 4, the strip is preformed in a trough shape. For this, several, e.g. B. 4-6 substations 5 used. In a subsequent metering station 6, the powder filling is introduced into the now pre-shaped band 2. The powder filling can be composed of various components of metallic or mineral type in any mixture. The powder filling can also be separated, e.g. B.
with two or more dosing scales.
A closing station 7, which consists of several, e.g. 2 - 4 substations 8 can exist. Here, the preformed trough-shaped band 2 is deformed into a closed cross section and can now be welded to the longitudinal edges that meet, for which purpose a welding station 9 is provided. Various welding methods can be used in the welding station 9, e.g. B. high-frequency welding, roller seam welding, TIG or laser welding.
The now welded tube 10 is deformed into a band in a deformation station 11 to such an extent that the powder filling is compressed. This deformation operation is essential, since there is practically no reduction in the cross section, but above all the powder filling is compressed. It has now surprisingly been found that after the deformation operation with simultaneous compression of the powder filling, there is a band with which the reduction to the filling band in its final form can be achieved without problems. For this purpose, the strip deformed in the forming station 11 is rolled in a stretch-reduction mill 12, whereupon an annealing in a continuous station 13, e.g. with a medium frequency annealing. The finish rolling is then carried out in a stretch-reduction mill 14.
This is followed by cleaning of the filling tape in a cleaning station 15, whereupon the finished tape is wound up on a reel in a winder 16.
In the continuous production of cored wire, see EP-A-158 693, it is necessary to remove the welding bead which arises during the welding of the longitudinal edges of the preformed pipe, so that the stretch-reducing operation can be carried out without problems. The bead removal has also been provided in the system according to FIG. 1, but the bead removal could be dispensed with, since it was found that this does not result in any disadvantage when rolling in the stretch-reducing stations 12 and 14.
It is also possible to arrange the continuous annealing in the annealing station 13 also after the finish rolling station 14.
Such annealing is necessary to ensure problem-free winding in the rewinder 16.
2 shows two examples of how the filling tape electrode 17 can be produced from the output tape 2. In the top row, a circular channel and then a circular tube is first produced and welded lengthways. Then the deformation takes place without substantial cross-section reduction in the deformation station 11 and then the stretch reduction in the stations 12 and 14. Details of the production of the circular tube can be found in the aforementioned EP-A-158 693. In the lower row, the production of an oval-shaped groove from the output belt 2 is shown. This channel is then welded after the powder filling has been introduced, so that an oval-shaped tube is formed. However, this is initially only formed into a band with simultaneous compression of the powder filling, which is only followed by the stretch-reducing operation.
With the system described, strip electrodes can now be produced continuously in the same way as cored wire electrodes.
