   DESCRIPTION

   DESCRIPTION

The present invention relates to foldable glasses comprising at least one articulation of the facial part of the frame, allowing the two lobes of said facial part to fold back towards one another.

Such foldable glasses are known per se.

The object of the present invention is to provide glasses of the aforementioned type which can be worn on the wrist like a bracelet, this both for making a high-end object, such as evening glasses, and for making , on the contrary, a mass production object, such as sports glasses, for the beach in particular.

This object is achieved by the means defined in claim 1.

The drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the subject of the invention and variants.

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of folding glasses in the deployed position.

Fig. 2 is a perspective view of these same glasses in the semi-folded position.

Fig. 3 is a perspective view of these glasses in the folded position.

Fig. 4 is a perspective view of these glasses, in the folded position, worn on the wrist, and
fig. 5 and 6 are elevation views of two variants of folding glasses.

The glasses shown in fig. 1 to 4 comprise a wire frame, generally designated by 1, carrying two lenses 2 which form, with the frame, two lobes constituting the facial part of the glasses. These two lobes are articulated one on the other at 3, on the nasal bridge of the frame, the articulation axis 3 being directed perpendicular to the plane of the facial part.

The upper edge of the two lobes, designated by 4, being substantially rectilinear, the facial part can be folded back, in a movement indicated by the arrows 5 of FIG. 2, until it occupies a position in which these two edges are substantially adjacent (fig. 3).

The arms of these glasses are formed of rigid elements or sections 6 hinged to each other at 7, which makes them flexible.

They each end with a ring 8 offset from the longitudinal axis of said branches. As a result, when the glasses are folded, as shown in fig. 3, the two rings 8 are superimposed and can therefore hang on to the end of the hinge pin 3 which has a length sufficient for this purpose.

This axis may end with a head to which the rings 8 hang.

The folded glasses (fig. 3) can be worn on the wrist, like a bracelet, as shown in fig. 4.

Thanks to this arrangement, the glasses can be taken with you without causing discomfort, whether in the evening in the case of high-end items or whether at the beach, for example, in the case of junk items, which allows their user to always have them available.

The variants of fig. 5 and 6 show glasses, generally designated by 9 and 10 respectively, produced on a principle identical to that of the first embodiment, and which differ only in their general appearance.

As a variant, provision could be made for the case where the branches of the glasses are made of a flexible material rather than using rigid elements articulated to each other. The means for hooking the ends of the branches to the axis of articulation of the lobes of the facial part may also be different from those which have been described and shown.

We could even consider the case where the foldable glasses will have the lobes of their facial part articulated one on the other not around an axis perpendicular to the plane of said facial part but around an axis located in this plane, perpendicular to the nasal bridge.

The two lobes will then fold over one another, the arrangement being such that the two branches are applied one against the other.

They will then attach, by their ends, to attachment means that will present for this purpose the nasal bridge.
