Claims (7)
- Device for adjusting the length of a bracelet provided, between two ends (1a, 1b) of the bracelet, with a fastener (2) with folding leaves (2a, 2b, 2c), in order to form with it an endless connection whose length can vary between two sizes, a size in which said folding leaves (2a, 2b, 2c) are folded, and a size in which they are unfolded, comprising an adjustment link (6) with two parallel hinge pins (5, 7) transverse to said connection, one of these two hinge pins being associated with one of the folding leaves (2c) of said fastener and the other to a second link (8) of said connection in order to make it possible, by pivoting said adjustment link (6) about one (5) of said pins (5, 7), to reverse the respective positions of these two hinge pins (5, 7) with respect to each other along the length of said connection and thereby to define two predetermined lengths of adjustment of this connection with a short fixed distance between these lengths, selected to enable the connection to be adapted to the variations in the circumference of the wrist of the user, said second link (8) associated with one of said hinge pins (5, 7) compring a number of locking means (8d, 8'd, 8"d, 8*d) that extend parallel to said hinge pins (5, 7), on the path described by a portion of said adjustment link (6) that is parallel to said hinge pins (5, 7), when said link pivots from its position corresponding to said longest length of adjustment to its position corresponding to said shortest length of adjustment of said connection, these locking means being engaged elastically with said portion of this adjustment link (6) when it is in its position corresponding to said shortest length of adjustment of said connection by exerting forces perpendicular to said hinge pins (5, 7).
- Adjustment device according to Claim 1, characterized in that said second link (8, 8', 8", 8*) is hinged both to one (7) of the transverse pins (5, 7) of said adjustment link (6) and to one end (1b) of the bracelet and in that said adjustment link (6) has a limit stop (6a) designed to limit its angular movement by bearing against one face of said leaf (2c) of the fastener (2) to which it is hinged, in the position in which said adjustment link (6) defines said longest length of adjustment.
- Adjustment device according to either of the preceding claims, characterized in that when said adjustment link (6) is engaged with said locking means (8d, 8'd, 8"d, 8*d), the pivot pin (5) of this adjustment link (6) is situated to one side of the straight line passing through the two hinge pins (7, 9) of said second link (8, 8', 8", 8*) and on a side of this straight line which is so selected that a pulling force (F2) acting in the direction of this straight line produces, about the pivot pin (5) of said adjustment link (6), a moment tending to keep this link (6) in engagement with said locking means (8d, 8'd, 8"d, 8*d).
- Adjustment device according to Claim 3, characterized in that when said limit stop (6a) of said adjustment link (6) is bearing against said face of the leaf (2c) of the fastener, the pivot pin (5) of this adjustment link (6) is situated to one side of the straight line passing through the two hinge pins (7, 9) of said second link (8, 8', 8", 8*) and on a side of this straight line which is so selected that pressure (F6) acting in the direction of this straight line produces, about the pivot pin (5) of said adjustment link (6), a moment tending to cause said adjustment link (6) to rotate away from its position corresponding to said longest length of adjustment, to the other position corresponding to said shortest length of adjustment of said connection.
- Adjustment device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the elasticity of said locking means (8d, 8*d) is provided by a curved leaf (8a, 8*a) of said second link (8, 8*), the locking means (8d, 8*d) being formed at one end of this curved leaf (8a, 8*a).
- Adjustment device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said locking means (8'd) are mounted on said second link (8').
- Adjustment device according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that said second link (8, 8', 8", 8*) has a housing (8c) for accommodating said adjustment link (6) in the locked position of this adjustment link (6).
