BESCHREIBUNG
Fig. 3 einen Schnitt längs der Linie III-III nach Fig. 1.
DESCRIPTION
With the ever increasing use of plastic pipes, in particular those made of cross-linked polyethylene, for service water pipes, the importance of the pipe connections suitable for this has also come to the fore of the interest of experts. In the case of the known pipe connections which are intended to connect a plastic pipe to a connection piece - for example a fitting part - the connection piece has an external winch on which a union nut can be screwed on. According to a known embodiment, the connection piece projects with a support sleeve into the interior of the tube, on the outer surface of which a slotted clamping ring is pressed by the union nut.
The pipe material suffers a gradual decrease in volume due to the constant change of hot water / subsequent cooling. This results in a reduced pressure on the pipe end on the support sleeve. In extreme cases, this can lead to leaks.
It is therefore the object of the present invention to propose a pipe connection which remains absolutely liquid-tight even after a long period of operation and does not require any readjustments. The invention solving this problem is defined in independent claim 1.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. Show it:
1 is a sectional view of the end portion of a plastic tube after the clamping sleeve and union nut have been pushed on,
Fig. 2 shows the finished pipe connection, also in section and
3 shows a section along the line III-III of FIG. 1st
According to FIG. 1, a slotted clamping ring 3 and a union nut 4 are arranged on the circumference of a plastic pipe 1, which preferably consists of cross-linked polyethylene. As is known to the person skilled in the art, the clamping ring 3 is dimensioned such that it can be pressed together radially while reducing its slot width 3a (FIG. 3). The union nut has on the one hand an internal thread 4a and on the other hand a radially inwardly projecting ring shoulder 4b.
2 protrudes into the plastic tube 1, the support sleeve 2a of a connector 2, on the external thread 2b, the union nut 4 is screwed. Between the ring shoulder 4b of the union nut 4 and the clamping ring 3, a spring assembly F is arranged, which consists of a tightening ring 5, a spring ring 6 and a locking ring 7. The tightening ring 5 and locking ring 7 rest with their chamfers on correspondingly arranged inclined surfaces of the clamping sleeve 3 and the ring shoulder 4b. When the union nut 4 is tightened, the pressure exerted on the spring assembly F is thus transmitted to the clamping ring 3, which is compressed radially, so that the end section 1 a of the plastic tube 1 is clamped between the clamping ring 3 and the support sleeve 2a (FIG. 2).
If the end section la of the pipe comes to flow under the influence of the temperature alternating stresses, the material loss associated therewith is automatically compensated for by the spring ring 6, since the spring ring constantly presses the tightening ring 5 against the clamping ring 3 and this thus continues when the pipe material yields compresses in the radial direction. Leaks are thus excluded from the outset.
The embodiment of the pipe connection shown is merely an example to illustrate the inventive concept and can be varied in several ways by a person skilled in the art within the scope of the inventive concept. Among other things, it would also be possible, for example, to implement the invention in connection with a pipe connection without a support sleeve. Instead of the clamping ring 3, it would also be possible to use a fully cylindrical, axially slidable compression sleeve.
Instead of the spring ring 6, the person skilled in the art could also use a different, appropriately dimensioned elastic adjusting element.
