   DESCRIPTION

   DESCRIPTION

The subject of the invention is a device for horticulture comprising an enclosure intended to receive soil, this enclosure having a bottom pierced with holes, this bottom having support supports projecting from its underside, the enclosure having at least one passage for a capillary mat intended to cover the bottom above the holes and a part of which hangs below the bottom in order to be able to soak in a horticultural tank.

Already known from Swiss patent N "639,241 an assembly comprising a tank in which pots are arranged inside which is mounted a support grid for a compost and whose bottom pierced with holes is mounted on feet. , mounting the gnlle in the pot and the cost of the grid itself are tedious and relatively expensive.

To overcome these drawbacks, the device according to the invention is characterized in that the enclosure is made up of two parts, its upper part having a plurality of separate spaces, open upwards and downwards, this upper part being intended to be placed on a bottom plate having said holes and the support supports.

The accompanying drawing shows schematically and by way of example an embodiment and a variant of the device according to the invention.

Figure 1 shows the lower part of a device consisting of two main parts.

FIG. 2 shows the upper part which is intended to be placed on the part illustrated in FIG. 1.

FIG. 3 shows a variant of a lower part of the kind of that shown in FIG. 1.

The device comprises a lower part shown in FIG. 1 and comprising a bottom 1 pierced with ventilation holes 2 and having two parallel slots 3 for the passage of a capillary mat 12. This bottom has lateral partitions 4 having openings 5 for the passage of air and water. Indeed, the device is intended to be placed in a tank containing deep water of a few centen meters. Thus, the capillary mat is impregnated with water to wet the entire upper face of the bottom 1. Above the lower part, according to FIG. 1, an upper part 6, illustrated in FIG. 2, which presents the form of a frame surrounding a series of cells 7 opening onto the two main faces of this upper part.

This therefore constitutes an enclosure intended to receive the soil for cultivation.

For the cultivation of the plants, a series of lower parts, according to FIG. 1, are placed in an elongated tank containing water and each of these lower parts is covered with an upper part, according to FIG. 2. The cells are filled with soil and each of them is intended to receive a plant. When the growth of these plants is sufficient, the horticulturist can plant them to transplant them to a larger area.

It is advantageous to provide guiding means by interlocking of recessed 8 and raised 9 parts to fix the position between the upper and lower parts.

FIG. 3 shows a variant of the lower part of the device, a variant in which several parts can be assembled to form a base of larger surface. To this end, two lateral sides of this lower part have grooves 10, while the other two opposite sides have ribs 11. It is thus possible to assemble several similar parts by engaging the ribs in the grooves.

It is understood that one can provide many variants without departing from the scope of the invention.

In the case of the lower part, illustrated in FIG. 1, the slots 3 could be omitted, the capillary mat then being simply placed on the lower part and provided sufficiently long or wide so that at least one of its edges falls back on one or more of its side partitions 4, in order to soak in the water contained in the tank.

It goes without saying that the upper part could also consist of several elements juxtaposed or even placed at a distance from each other.

In the assembly described, the device has been provided in expanded synthetic resin, but it is clear that any other material can be used and in particular make the device in terracotta.
