Description
BESCHREIBUNG DESCRIPTION
The invention relates to a baseboard for accommodating at least one heating core, which extends in the direction of the ledge and can be flowed around vertically by air, with support members fastened to a wall at intervals, and a heating device with such a baseboard. Skirting boards of the type mentioned, which are used for space heating, are known per se, for which reference is made to DE-OS 2 824 628 or to US Pat. No. 4,086,468.
The disadvantage of known skirting boards of this type is, above all, that due to their design they have to be manufactured and installed in certain standard lengths, since an individual length adjustment is not possible. This in turn leads to the need for large inventory of many individual component parts. Since the heating output is to be adapted to the respective room and is not necessarily directly related to the length of the skirting boards, blind elements must also be provided in known systems, which further increases the number of component parts and also leads to aesthetically unsatisfactory butt joints. Finally, in the case of known elements, the heating effect is based predominantly on thermal radiation or predominantly on convection, which in each case has the disadvantages of the chosen type of heating. So far, convectors are too large for skirting boards and are noticeable.
It is therefore the task of designing a skirting board of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it can be adjusted in length by the installer, has as few components as possible, in particular no blind elements, and also permits combined heating.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the features mentioned in claim 1.
The fact that the supporting members serve both to hold the heating core and, independently thereof, to fasten the cover profile, allows the latter elements to be dimensioned independently of one another. While a heating core can be attached to the skirting that only extends over part of the wall length, the cover profile can cover the entire wall length and be cut to the appropriate length. The use of special blind parts is therefore no longer necessary. The cover profile also serves to form a convection duct with the wall and to act as a heat radiator, so that the two heating effects occur side by side.
The claimed solution can be used together with different heater core designs. While the heating core is designed as a fluid heating core in a first embodiment variant, a second variant consists in combined fluid and electrical heating and a third in pure electrical heating. Depending on the installation situation, the suitable variant can be selected without the need for other basic elements - apart from the heating core.
Es zeigen: The three mentioned embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings. Show it:

First, the unchanged components and their function for all variants are explained in more detail using the first two figures.
The skirting is placed on the floor 3 of a room standing along the walls 2. They are attached by support members 4, which are designed as aluminum profile pieces and are screwed to the wall. All other components, in particular a heater core 5, a cover profile 6 and an air deflector 7, are fastened to or with these support members arranged at intervals along the wall. To support the heater core 5, each support member 4 has two webs 8, 9 arranged one above the other. The cover profile 6 is also fastened to the webs 8, regardless of whether there is a heating core 5 at the corresponding point or not. The air deflector 7 is clamped between the wall 2 and the upper part of each support member 4. The support members 4 hold the entire skirting board together as a compact element in the assembled state.
The assembly begins with the support members 4 being loosely screwed along the wall at suitable intervals after the air deflector has previously been pushed behind it. The screw holes 10 on the support members 4 now allow horizontal adjustment, for which purpose the top of the air deflector 7 can be used as a reference, for example for supporting a spirit level. After the adjustment, the supporting members 4 are finally fixed. The heating core 5 can then be attached and connected in certain areas, while remaining accessible from the outside. In areas where no heating is to be done, only connecting pipes or lines are routed. After installation of the heating core 5, the cover profile 6 is arranged on the support members over the entire length.
The cover profile forms with the wall 2 a convection channel which is open at the bottom for sucking in the cold air and at the top for releasing the heated air. The cover profile 6 has at its upper end a back bend against the wall and leaves an opening down. This ensures convection in this area and prevents heat build-up even when objects are placed directly on the skirting board. The upper bend back on the cover profile 6 also causes a chimney effect in the convection channel. The heated air is directed into the room by the air deflector 7, which is bent from the inside out and prevents it from rising directly along the wall and blackening it. A seal 11 between the air deflector 7 and the wall prevents the passage of the heated air behind the air deflector for the same reason. The air deflector 7 is also dimensioned so that the exit of the. Warm air is also possible behind objects placed on the skirting board.
The cover profile 6 also acts in all versions as a heat radiator that emits radiant heat into the room. For this purpose, the heat occurring in the heating core is partially transferred to the cover profile. In the examples according to FIGS. 1 to 4, this is done by heat conduction, while in the example of FIGS. 5 and 6, the heat from the heating core is predominantly transmitted to the cover profile by radiation. In this way, the heating output is roughly halved in the form of heated air and heat

Strahlung abgegeben. Emitted radiation. The high radiant power in the floor area has a favorable effect on the indoor climate and prevents the formation of unnecessary heat cushions on the ceiling, without sacrificing convection and thus the formation of a heat curtain along the walls. This means that the heat can be optimally distributed in the room, and there is in particular no point heat.
The heating core 5 can, as the exemplary embodiments show, be designed in different ways and thus be adapted to the respective conditions.
1 and 2, an embodiment for pure fluid heating, in particular hot water heating, is shown. The heating core consists of a flow line 13 and a parallel return line 14, which are arranged one above the other and connected by a plurality of fins 15. The fins 15 are press-fitted on the lines 13, 14 and form a compact package, to which side bends 16, each of which extends to the adjacent fin, contribute. The fins are spaced from each other so that free air circulation in the vertical direction is possible. The side bends 16 are in the assembled state in press contact with the cover profile 6 and serve to transfer the heat to this. In order to ensure a sufficient press contact, the cover profile is hung like a hinge in the upper web 9 of each support member 4 and can be clamped against the lower web 8 with a screw 17. For this purpose, the lower web 8 has a continuous groove 18, which makes an exact alignment of the cover profile 6 and support members 4 unnecessary.
3 and 4, the embodiment described is supplemented by an electric heating element 20 which can be inserted into an empty tube 19 provided for this purpose in the fins 5 and is provided at its ends with electrical connections 21, so that a bivalent water-electric heating system is used arises. In transition periods, the boiler for the heating water can remain out of operation and can only be heated via the heating element 20. The electrical supply lines are accommodated in an underlying cable tube 22, which is arranged in a cable carrier 23 provided on the support member 4. The cable duct also serves to accommodate other room installations, such as power, telephone or TV cables. Its location in the cold zone, i.e. in the suction area for the cold convection air, ensures that the cables are not damaged by the influence of heat.
For a description of further details, reference is made to FIGS. 1 and 2, in which, apart from the additional heating element 20, the same elements are used.
A third embodiment shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 is constructed as a pure electric heater. Nevertheless, except for the heating core, the same elements can be used as in the previous versions, which considerably rationalizes the storage for the manufacturer and installer. In this variant, the heating core 25 consists of a flat, vertically arranged casting 26 in which a heating rod 27 runs, which transfers the heat generated to the casting by pressing contact. This heating core is held in grooves 28, which are arranged on the webs 8, 9 of the support members, at a distance from the cover profile 6 and in a parallel position thereto. This arrangement, together with the black surfaces of the casting 26, causes a considerable part of the heating power to be transmitted as heat radiation to the cover profile 6 and radiated from there into the room. Furthermore, the relatively large surface of the casting 26 is coated with convection air, which, as explained above, escapes upwards.

This heating core is heated to a higher temperature than the large-area plate pack of the previous examples. In order to avoid overheating of the cover profile 6 accessible from the outside, the casting is therefore not in direct contact with it. Rather, the radiation from the heating core is sufficient to heat the cover profile, which acts as a heat radiator. In this example as well, the electrical feed lines run in the cold zone below in a cable pipe 22.
For assembly in this version, the support members in the area of the heating core are first pushed onto this and then, as described, provisionally attached to the wall.
In addition to the elements described so far, essentially only inner corner pieces, outer corner pieces and end pieces are required, which are configured identically for all designs and do not have any function that is essential in terms of heating technology, which is why their description is omitted. Since the heating cores of various designs are only arranged in 5 flat wall areas and are connected to one another via corners by means of connecting pipes (for heating water, preferably plastic pipes) or pipes, the corner pieces mentioned essentially have only a diaphragm function.

In addition to the advantages already explained, the described arrangements are easy to maintain. The cover profile 6 can be removed at any time by loosening the screws 17, after which the entire installations 15 are accessible from the outside.
