Darin zeigt:
Fig. 1 eine Ladevorrichtung mit einer Beschleunigungseinrichtung, und
Fig. 2 eine Beschleunigungseinrichtung.

PATENT CLAIM E

8. Device according to one of claims 5-7, characterized in that a low-pressure accumulator (44) is connected to the return line (42).
An acceleration device according to the preamble of the claim is known from the FH77B field howitzer from Bofors. In this known embodiment, the projectile is partially swung into a tube on a shell with the closure open and then enclosed in the tube by the acceleration device. The acceleration device comprises a hydraulic cylinder which is displaceable on a permanently mounted, continuous piston rod and which can be pivoted about the cylinder axis and carries a trough on one arm for filling the load. During the forward stroke of the cylinder, the projectile is rammed into the tube through the front end of the trough.
This known acceleration device requires a relatively large amount of space in the pipe axis direction behind the pipe end. The rear pipe end must therefore be arranged relatively high from the ground in order to enable large elevations. This is disadvantageous for the stability of the gun as well as for camouflage and armor.
The object of the invention is to eliminate these disadvantages. This object is achieved with the characterizing features of claim 1.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to the attached drawing. It shows:
Fig. 1 is a loading device with an accelerator, and
Fig. 2 shows an acceleration device.
The rear end of a gun barrel 50 and a loading device 51 are shown schematically in FIG. In the tube 50, a chamber 54 for the load and the barrel 52 of the tube are arranged in the rear. Behind the tube, a projectile 56 to be loaded is placed on a carriage 58. The carriage 58 is guided on a guide 64 by means of rollers 62. The carriage 58 is moved by an arm 60 through a hydraulic cylinder unit 2 arranged below the carriage, in which the piston rod 8 only protrudes from the cylinder 4 on one side. With this arrangement, the overall length of the loading device 51 corresponds approximately to the floor length.
To insert the projectile 56 into the tube 50, the carriage 58 is strongly accelerated by the unit 2 over the relatively short distance d1. The projectile 56 then flies over the distance d2 in free flight and finally remains stuck a few cm deep in the barrel 52 of the tube. Large forces are required to accelerate. In order to avoid the risk of kinking of the piston rod 8, it is subjected to tension during the acceleration phase.
Fig. 2 shows the cylinder unit 2 with the associated control device. At the bottom 5 of the cylinder 4, a rod 10 arranged coaxially to the cylinder 4 is fastened, which penetrates a bore 12 in the piston 6 in a sealed manner and projects into a cavity 9 of the piston rod 8. The piston rod 8 is connected to the arm 60 via a joint 20.
The rod 10 has a longitudinal bore 11 which connects the cavity 9 with a first connection 34 on the cylinder base 5. The end face 18 of the rod 10 is considerably smaller than the annular surface 14 between the inner wall of the cylinder 4 and the piston rod 8; the area ratio is e.g. approximately 1: 5. As a result, when the cylinder accelerates, the volume displaced in the cavity 9 and therefore the flow rate in the connection 34 is considerably less than the volume supplied to the annular space 15 or the flow rate through a second connection 22 on the rod side. The third, piston-side connection 32 of the cylinder 4 is connected to the atmosphere via an air filter 33.
The energy required for the piston stroke is stored in a high-pressure accumulator 24 designed as a bladder accumulator. The line 21 between the accumulator 24 and the connection 22 has a large flow cross-section, so that practically the full accumulator pressure acts on the annular surface 14 even when the piston 6 is moved. A great acceleration is achieved.
To supply the accumulator 24, the latter is connected to a feed line 26 via an unlockable check valve 28, a line 23 and a switching valve 46. The valves 28, 46 and the lines 23, 26 require a considerably smaller flow cross-section than the connection 22, because the accumulator 24 is charged much more slowly than it is discharged.
In order to control the pulse transmitted to the projectile 56 during the acceleration phase, the first connection 34 is connected via a throttle 36 and an unlockable check valve 38 to a low-pressure accumulator 44 designed as a piston accumulator. The accumulator 44 is connected via a line 43 and the valve 46 to a return line 42. The accumulator 44 ensures a practically constant back pressure at the throttle 36 during the acceleration phase, regardless of the oil viscosity and the acceleration of the oil column in the lines 42, 43. To trigger the acceleration process, the valve 38 is opened via a pilot line 40. The piston 6 held by the counterpressure in the cavity 9 is thus released and the accumulator 24 discharges into the annular space 15.
The flow volume through the connection 34 is smaller than the inflow through the connection 22 by the ratio of the end face 18 to the annular surface 14, so that relatively small flow cross sections are also required for the valve 38.
In order to be able to adjust the impulse transmitted to the projectile according to the pipe elevation, so that the projectile always gets stuck in the same position in the barrel 52, the throttle 36 can be provided variably. As a variant, a further switching valve 39 is provided in FIG. 2 with a further orifice 37 parallel to the valve 38.
Depending on the pipe elevation, either the valve 38 or the valve 39 or both are activated by the associated pilot lines 40, 41 during the acceleration phase.
After the charging process, the piston 6 is returned to the illustrated starting position of the four-way valve 46 and the cavity 9 is thus supplied with the feed pressure P. The check valve 28 is unlocked via a pilot line 30 branched off from the line 43, so that the annular space 15 communicates with the return line 42 via the connection 22 and the lines 21, 23.
