10. Seating with a support element according to claim 1 for the resilient connection of the backrest and seat.
The present invention relates to an elastic support element according to the preamble of independent claim 1 and to a piece of seating furniture according to the subject matter of independent claim 10.
In seating, in particular in chairs with a seat and backrest, it has become known to hold the backrest resiliently with a leaf spring or also two coil springs, one of which is arranged in the side frame. It is important that the springs act rigid up to a certain pressure against the backrest to give the user the feeling that he can lean on. Above this pressure, which should be around 15 kg, the spring must be elastic and give in to the pressure so that the user can rest. The restoring force of the spring and the highest pressure that can be exerted by the user with normal weight are balanced at around 30 kg. Of course, both values are higher for a heavily overweight user and much lower for a child or light-weight person.
These forces cannot be adjusted for leaf springs and only within a narrow range for coil springs in the frame. In any case, a chair for children and heavyweight people has never been trained the same.
It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a solution to this problem in such a way that the restoring force of a spring element can be set within widely spaced limits.
According to the invention, this is created by a support element which has the features in the characterizing part of independent patent claim 1. An application to chairs is characterized in claim 10.
An embodiment is shown in the drawing and is explained below. Show it:
Figure 1 is a sectional view of a longitudinal section through a support element for two holding elements rotated by 90C and
FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of an elastic member of the support element according to FIG. 1.
The support element according to the drawing consists of links 1 made of elastic material, which are lined up with the interposition of separating elements 2 made of rigid material on a core 3, for example a flexible rope or a strand made of tensile material. The core 3 is connected in one piece to a head 6 and on the other hand to a threaded rod 7. On the outer separating elements 2a and 2b there are sleeves 4a, 4b with a sleeve bottom 5. The head 6 lies on the bottom 5 of one sleeve 4a, and a threaded sleeve 8 is supported on the other sleeve 4b. With this arrangement, the soul 3 can be tensioned against the force of the limbs 1. The threaded sleeve 8 can be provided with a rotary knob 9 for easier actuation.
According to FIG. 2, each link 1 consists of two flanges 12, 13, through which an outer surface 10, 11 is formed, and a central part 14. The central part 14 has a smaller cross-sectional area than each flange 12, 13. The two flanges 12, 13 and the middle part 14 have a central bore.
As can be clearly seen from the drawing, the outer surfaces 10, 11 of the flanges 12, 13 lie in planes intersecting at an angle a.
By choosing the angle a, the arc between the two sleeves 4a and 4b or the number of links in a given arc can accordingly be determined.
Separating elements 2 are inserted between adjacent links 1. These separating elements 2 consist of a rigid material, for example a metal. As clearly shown in FIG. 1, they have a bore 20 in the center, which is arranged in a recess 21. The depression 21 is lowered like an eye and acts as a centering with such a depression in the limbs 1.
It is easy to see that with a tensile force on the core 3 by tightening the threaded sleeve 8, which counteracts the elastic force of the links, the angle a is changed equally for each link 1.
The elastic force is thus increased in each link 1, and a greater force is required on the two sleeves in the radial direction in order to deform the arch.
To improve the appearance of this support element, the sleeves 4a, 4b can be covered by a plastic sleeve 40, and a bellows 41 can be placed around the members, and the opening of the sleeve 4a can be closed with a cover screw 42. The links themselves can be molded from foamed plastic or they can be made from molded rubber.
In use to connect a seat to a seat
Backrest in chairs, the plastic sleeves 40 can then be used in openings in the frame. But in addition to this one application, due to the variety of forms of the limbs, medical applications are also possible, such as in orthopedics for limited elastic fixation of joints or for correcting postural damage or the like.
To limit the bending angle of the links. the separating elements can be connected in one piece with these comprehensive sleeves. Separating elements of both types can then be combined for one and the same support element or each type can be used alone.
