la fig. 1 représente les dispositifs connus de l'art antérieur;
la fig. 2 représente une vue en perspective d'une forme de réalisation avantageuse du dispositif selon l'invention;
la fig. 3 représente une autre forme de réalisation du dispositif de l'invention;
la fig. 4 représente une vue partielle en plan de la bande métallique perforée du dispositif représenté par la fig. 3;

The present invention relates to a device for positioning pipes in a concrete slab, this device comprising a cradle for supporting a pipe, a height-adjustable support carrying this cradle, elements making it possible to fix the support to the formwork, and members for linking rigidly the pipe to the cradle.
Devices of this type are already known for supporting and positioning pipes in a formwork, in particular before pouring concrete, intended for the production of a slab in which are embedded a number of inclined supply or flow pipes according to determined slopes. Such a device is illustrated in FIG. 1 and described in more detail below. These devices of the prior art generally consist of a clamping flange 1 composed of two complementary elements 2 and 3 in the form of a semicircle whose ends are extended by lugs 4 and 5, making it possible to close the flange when the pipe is in place by means of bolts 6. The lower element 3 is welded to the top of a U-shaped support 7, produced by folding a perforated metal strip.
When installing this device, the operator folds the legs 8 and 9 of the support 7 in the direction of the arrows A and B, to bring them respectively into the positions 8 'and 9'. The distance a between the legs 8 'and 9' folded horizontally and the base of the element 3 determines the height of the pipe relative to the formwork, that is to say relative to the base of the slab.
These well known and commonly used devices have many drawbacks. First of all, their realization which involves the separate manufacturing, machining and assembly of several elements, constitutes a relatively expensive operation. Then, when the distance a is relatively small, that is to say when the legs 8 and 9 of the support 7 are folded very high, that is to say near the lower element 3 of the clamp 1, the fixing of these legs to the formwork, by means of nails driven through the perforations of these legs, is difficult since the space available between the folded legs and the clamp is, in this case, particularly reduced.
Another very significant drawback of these known devices is due to the fact that it is essential to have as many different types of these devices as there are varieties of pipes to be fixed in the concrete slabs. However, these devices are currently commonly used to position plastic pipes having 50, 56, 63, 75, 90 or 110 mm in diameter, or cast iron pipes having 60, 80 or 100 mm in diameter. Consequently, there are currently nine different types of these devices, and the installer or reseller is obliged to maintain a stock of these nine different varieties of devices at all times, in order to meet the most common needs. This is a major economic disadvantage.
The present invention proposes to overcome the various drawbacks mentioned above by producing a universal device, produced in one dimension and capable of replacing all of the various devices of the prior art. In addition, the production of this device is much more economical, since it eliminates all the machining and assembly operations which were necessary for the production of known devices. Finally, the installation itself of the device of the invention is facilitated, especially when the legs of the support must be folded very high.
These advantages are obtained thanks to the device according to the invention as defined above, characterized in that the cradle and the height-adjustable support consist of a perforated metal band folded in the shape of an M, and in that the members for binding rigidly the pipe to the cradle has a flexible flange connected to the cradle, equipped with a clamping and locking device.
The characteristics and advantages of the present invention will be better understood with reference to the description of a preferred embodiment and the attached drawing, in which:
fig. 1 shows the devices known from the prior art;
fig. 2 shows a perspective view of an advantageous embodiment of the device according to the invention;
fig. 3 shows another embodiment of the device of the invention;
fig. 4 shows a partial plan view of the perforated metal strip of the device shown in FIG. 3;
Fig. 5 shows a cross-sectional view of the flexible flange, and
fig. 6 shows a partial view in longitudinal section of the flexible flange of FIGS. 2 and 3.
With reference to fig. 2, the device of the invention consists of two independent elements, one made of metal, the other of synthetic material. The first element is constituted by a perforated metal strip 10, folded in the shape of an M and constituting, on the one hand, the cradle 11 of a pipe 12 and, on the other hand, the support adjustable in height, consisting of two legs 13 and 14 parallel to each other and parallel to the axis of symmetry of the cradle 11. As for the devices of the prior art, the two legs 13 and 14 can be folded and fixed to the boards of a formwork, by means of nails or of screws driven through one or more of the perforations 15 of the perforated strip 10. This element is produced in one piece by stamping and folding a pre-perforated metal strip, or can be produced in
a sequencing machine during different stamping and folding operations.
The second element 16 is constituted by a flange of fluted synthetic material which surrounds the pipe 12 and passes through two perforations 15 of the perforated strip 10, then the central opening of a blocking piece 17, so as to allow a tightening and a quick locking in position of the pipe 12 on its cradle 11.
The cradle 11 is dimensioned in such a way that it can receive pipes of different diameters. The small diameter pipes, as shown in the figure, are supported on the three planar segments which constitute the cradle 11. The larger diameter pipes (not shown) are supported only on the two inclined faces of the cradle 11. The perforations 15 through which the clamp 16 is passed are chosen according to the diameters of the pipes supported by the device.
Fig. 3 shows another embodiment of the device illustrated in FIG. 1. In this case, the cradle 21 has a very open V shape and the height-adjustable support consists of two legs 22 and 23 attached to the upper ends of the branches of the V. The cradle and the legs are made by folding a perforated metal strip. The lower ends of the legs 22 and 23 can be folded back to be fixed, for example by means of nails 24, to the boards of a formwork 25. In this example, the metal strip comprises two types of perforation: perforations of substantially rectangular shape 26, allowing the passage of a clamp 27, surrounding a pipe 28, and perforations 29 of circular shape, better suited for securing the tabs 22 and 23 to the formwork boards 25.
In this example, the plastic flange 27 has at one of its ends a stop 30, the dimensions of which are greater than those of the rectangular perforations. Furthermore, the rectangular perforations, which are described in more detail with reference to FIG. 4, are arranged to cooperate with the grooves of the clamping flange 27.
Fig. 4 shows the profile of the perforations 26 intended to cooperate with a flange 27, shown in cross section in FIG. 5 and in longitudinal section through FIG. 6. The perforations 26 comprise two teeth 31 which define a narrowing of the perforation 26 in its central zone corresponding substantially to the thickness b of the flange 27, this thickness being measured between two opposite recesses of the grooves formed on the two faces of a flange 27. The zones widened at the longitudinal ends of the perforations 26 have a height which corresponds substantially to the thickness c of the edges 32 of the flange 27. The grooves of the flange 27 have a profile, known per se, which allows blocking in position of the flange 27 in the perforations 26 of the metal strip.
Since the distance between the legs 22 and 23 of the support is greater than or equal to the diameter of the pipe 28, it is easy to fix the curved ends of these legs to the formwork, without the operator being hampered by the cradle or by the pipe for driving nails or screws 24 into the formwork boards 25.
The perforations 29 are made on an optional basis, since the perforations 26 can also be used to fix the device to the formwork.
