6. Device according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that a pneumatic control device for achieving a multi-stage or continuous change in the flow rate between the position former (14) and the positioner (7) can be inserted.
The invention relates to a device according to the preamble of the first claim.
Such facilities go z. B. from the magazine Giesserei, Issue No. 10 of May 12, 1977, pages 263-267, Fig. 9c. A signal converter controls the stopper stroke as a function of the measured degree of filling in the container, with the total casting time for casting being specified per casting mold. This enables constant casting speeds or quantities to be achieved at different bath heights.
The weighing device usually has a plurality of load cells which generate an electrical control signal and feed a stepper motor which adjusts a stop corresponding to a stopper stroke height. The plug is opened and closed by a compressed air cylinder.
A disadvantage is that both pneumatic and electrical equipment are available and that electrical equipment and electrical lines are arranged in the immediate vicinity of a container filled with molten metal. In the rough, hot and dusty atmosphere of a foundry, this electrical equipment is particularly at risk.
It is therefore an object of the invention to eliminate the disadvantages mentioned above and, based on the prior art, to propose a device which is simpler and cheaper to design, which is less susceptible to malfunction and which, if malfunctions occur. can be restored more quickly.
This object is achieved according to the invention by the features of the first claim. Advantageous embodiments emerge from the dependent patent claims.
The fact that the entire apparatus - weighing, regulating, actuating - is designed pneumatically, makes setup easier and cheaper, and there is no need to go through motors. It also becomes less susceptible to faults that often occur in the electrical part. In the event of faults, only fitters from a single specialist area are responsible, which has a positive effect on the duration of the fault.
The invention will now be explained in more detail with reference to an embodiment shown in the single figure.
A stopper container 1 for the metered pouring of a molten metal into a plurality of identical casting molds is equipped with an actuating device 2, in the example shown a diaphragm drive, for the axial up and down movement of a stopper 3, the diaphragm drive 2 is regulated by a pneumatic positioner 7 such that at falling bath height of the melt 8, the outflow into a casting mold is kept constant.
The weighing device is designed in such a way that the container I is tiltably supported on one side in a tilting bearing 9, while it is supported on the opposite side by a spring 13 which is compressed to a greater or lesser extent depending on the contents or bath height. On the side of the spring 13 there is a pneumatic position transducer 14 assigned to the weighing device, which is connected to an arm 15 of the container 1 fastened to the container 1.
The position transducer 14, to which the deflection of the arm 15 is transmitted, generates a pneumatic control signal in the control line 19 which is proportional to the content, i. H. the amount of melt, the container. The line 19 leads to a multiplication element 20. Also connected to the multiplication element 20 is a line 21 which comes from a setpoint generator 22. By specifying the setpoint of the setpoint generator 22, the system air 23 can be throttled to a specific basic setting value which corresponds to a specific initial stroke of the plug 3. The signal emanating from the multiplication element 20 is fed to the positioner 7 via line 28, which also has a three-way solenoid valve 29 for ventilation purposes.
The position converter 14 is thus operatively connected to the diaphragm actuator 2 via the positioner 7, the control pressure in the element 20, which is proportional to the constantly changing content of the container, correcting the control pressure of the basic setting and thereby the stopper stroke.
With a pneumatic differential relay 32, which can be inserted between the multiplication element 20 and the positioner 7 via an input line 33 and an output line 34, it is possible to switch from a high to a smaller outflow quantity during a casting. The casting characteristics required for the mold in question are initially determined empirically by the operator. As an example, a total casting time of 20 seconds can be divided into two time segments of 10 seconds each, a maximum outflow quantity being demanded in the first time segment and half the outflow quantity in the second time segment. Then by means of knob 35 on the differential relay 32 factor 0.5 is set, so that the control pressure in line 33 of z.
B. 1.8 bar an output pressure in line 34 of 1.4 bar (the pressure is halved). A timing relay 39 in the control cabinet is connected to a three-way valve 40 arranged between the lines 28 and 34 and determines the duration of the time segments and the total casting time. Instead of the differential relay 32, another program device or a control for multi-stage or continuous change of the outflow quantity can also take place. Several differential relays and timing relays can also be used.
