Abstract

The device serves to form a Möbius strip by superposing the two ends of a band at an angle of 120 DEG , welding the ends along a line at right angles to the bisectrix of the angle and separating the welded ends along the weld line. Next, one of the welded ends is unfolded so as to be aligned on the other end. In order to automate this method, grippers (11, 15) bring the end of each of two bands (17, 18) from a roll towards a welding station superimposing them at an angle of 120 DEG . Two blocks (5, 7) are actuated in order to move vertically with respect to each other, one (5) of the two blocks having a plane surface and emitting ultrasound, the other block (7) having a ridge (7a). Two tables (1, 2) move with respect to each other and define the welding station. Guide rollers (12, 16) separate the welded bands and unfold the two welded parts so as to align them and the block (5) flattens the weld beads (23a, 23b) on the tables (1, 2). <IMAGE>

   REVENDICATIONS
 1. Dispositif pour souder par ultrasons des extrémités de deux rubans en matière thermoplastique ou en tissu synthétique, afin de former un anneau ordinaire ou une boucle de   Möbius,    par superposition des deux extrémités sous un angle compris entre 100 et   l30#,    soudage des extrémités superposées le long d'une ligne rectangulaire à la bissectrice de l'angle de 100 à   130    et séparation des extrémités soudées le long de la ligne de soudure, dépliage de l'une des extrémités soudées afin de l'aligner sur l'autre extrémité, et aplatissement du bourrelet de soudure, caractérisé par:

 des moyens pour faire tourner à volonté de   180    la bande (18), en amont de la pince (15),
 des moyens (Il, 15) pour amener l'extrémité de chacun de deux rubans (17, 18) d'un rouleau (19, 20) vers un poste de soudage en les superposant à l'angle de 100 à   l30#,

   2. Dispositif selon la revendication 1, caractérisé par le fait que les moyens pour amener les extrémités des rubans comportent des pinces (11, 15) disposées sur des bras (10, 14) montés pour effectuer un mouvement rotatif horizontal.



   3. Dispositif selon la revendication 2, caractérisé par un frein (21, 22) associé à chaque   pince (11,    15).



   4. Dispositif selon l'une des revendications 1 à 3, caractérisé par le fait que l'angle est d'environ 120'.



   La présente invention concerne un dispositif pour souder par ultrasons des extrémités de deux rubans en matière thermoplastique ou en tissu synthétique, afin de former un anneau ordinaire ou une boucle de   Möbius,    par superposition des deux extrémités sous un angle compris entre 100 et 130-, soudage des extrémités superposées le long d'une ligne rectangulaire à la bissectrice de l'angle de 100 à   130    et séparation des extrémités soudées le long de la ligne de soudure, dépliage des deux parties soudées afin de les aligner, et aplatissement du bourrelet de soudure.



   De tels dispositifs sont connus, par exemple de la DE-OS
No 2410055. Ces dispositifs sont actionnés à la main ou fonctionnent de   maniére    semi-automatique. De plus, ces dispositifs connus ne permettent pas un aplatissement des bourrelets de soudage par une opération consécutive simple.



   Le but de la présente invention est de créer un dispositif du type mentionné qui fonctionne entièrement de manière automatique, tout en permettant d'aplatir les bourrelets de soudage également automatiquement immédiatement après le soudage des rubans.



   Pour atteindre ce but, le dispositif selon l'invention est caractérisé par:
 des moyens pour faire tourner à volonté de   180    la bande, en amont de la pince,
 des moyens pour amener l'extrémité de chacun de deux rubans d'un rouleau vers un poste de soudage en les superposant à l'angle de   100 Åa      l30#-,   
 deux blocs de soudage actionnés pour se déplacer verticalement   l'un    par rapport à l'autre,   l'un    des deux blocs présentant une surface plane et émettant des ultrasons, l'autre bloc présentant une arête,
 deux tables se déplaçant horizontalement l'une par rapport à l'autre et délimitant par leurs extrémités le poste de soudage,
 des moyens pour séparer les rubans soudés et déplier les deux parties soudées afin de les aligner,

   et
 des moyens pour aplatir les bourrelets de soudage.



   Le dessin annexé montre schématiquement, à titre d'exemple, une forme d'exécution du dispositif selon l'invention.



   La fig. 1 montre, en perspective, les éléments principaux du dispositif.



   Les fig. 2 à 11 montrent, soit de face soit en plan, des phases successives du fonctionnement du dispositif selon la fig. 1.



   Le dispositif illustré schématiquement à la fig. I comporte deux tables horizontales 1 et 2 respectivement, se déplaçant en sens opposé dans la direction des flèches 3 et 4 respectivement. Au-dessus des tables 1 et 2 se trouve un bloc supérieur 5 de soudage, se dépla çant en direction des flèches 6, tandis qu'en dessous des tables 1 et 2 se trouve un bloc inférieur 7 de soudage se déplaçant en direction des flèches 8.



   Un tourniquet supérieur 9 comporte des bras 10 se déplaçant entre le bloc 5, lorsqu'il est en position supérieure, et les surfaces supérieures des tables 1 et 2. Chaque bras 10 porte à son extrémité une pince 11 et un rouleau de renvoi 12. Un tourniquet inférieur 13 avec des bras 14 portant aux extrémités des pinces 15 et des rouleaux de renvoi 16 est disposé sous les tables 1 et 2.



   Deux rubans 17 et 18 respectivement, provenant chacun d'un rouleau 19 et 20 à travers un frein 21 et 22 respectivement, sont tirés par les pinces 11 et 15 respectivement.



   Avant que la pince 15 saisisse la bande   18,1'ensemble    du rouleau 20 et du frein 22 oscille pour faire tourner la bande de   180 ,    afin qu'elle se présente dans la bonne position pour obtenir finalement un anneau de   Möbius.   



   Tous les éléments mentionnés sont actionnés et commandés par des moyens mécaniques, électromécaniques ou hydromécaniques connus comme tels.



   Le dispositif décrit fonctionne comme suit:
 Le ruban supérieur 17, amené par la pince 11, et le ruban inférieur 18, amené par la pince 15, sont disposés entre les tables 1 et 2 et les blocs 5 et 7, comme représenté de face à la fig. 2 et vus en plan à la fig. 3. Les deux rubans 17 et 18 se croisent à un angle de 100 à   130 .   



   Lorsque les deux rubans 17 et 18 sont dans la position représentée par les fig. 2 et 3, le bloc inférieur 7 monte vers le haut et presse les rubans 17 et 18 avec son arête 7a contre le bloc 5 (fig. 4). Etant donné que le bloc 5 est muni d'un générateur d'ultrasons, les deux rubans 17 et 18, en un matériau thermoplastique, sont soudés ensemble le long de l'arête 7a. Le soudage est suivi immédiatement d'un coupage le long de la ligne de soudure. Puis on déplie les parties soudées de 17 et 18 pour les aligner, comme on le voit sur la fig. 6.



   Ainsi, une ligne de soudure 23 avec un bourrelet 23a, visible à la fig. 6, est formée, tandis que les bouts 17a et 18a des rubans soudés sont jetés dans cette phase de début (fig. 5).

 1.    The present invention relates to a device for ultrasonically welding the ends of two tapes of thermoplastic material or synthetic fabric, in order to form an ordinary ring or a Möbius loop, by superposition of the two ends at an angle between 100 and 130-, welding of the superimposed ends along a rectangular line at the bisector of the angle from 100 to 130 and separation of the welded ends along the weld line, unfolding of the two welded parts in order to align them, and flattening of the bead of welding.



   Such devices are known, for example from DE-OS
No 2410055. These devices are operated by hand or operate semi-automatically. In addition, these known devices do not allow a flattening of the welding beads by a simple consecutive operation.



   The object of the present invention is to create a device of the type mentioned which functions entirely automatically, while making it possible to flatten the welding beads also automatically immediately after the welding of the tapes.



   To achieve this goal, the device according to the invention is characterized by:
 means for rotating the strip 180 at will, upstream of the clamp,
 means for bringing the end of each of two tapes from a roll to a welding station by superimposing them at the angle of 100 Åa l30 # -,
 two welding blocks actuated to move vertically relative to each other, one of the two blocks having a planar surface and emitting ultrasound, the other block having an edge,
 two tables moving horizontally relative to each other and delimiting the welding station at their ends,
 means for separating the welded tapes and unfolding the two welded parts in order to align them,

   and
 means for flattening the welding beads.



   The accompanying drawing shows schematically, by way of example, an embodiment of the device according to the invention.



   Fig. 1 shows, in perspective, the main elements of the device.



   Figs. 2 to 11 show, either from the front or in plan, successive phases of the operation of the device according to FIG. 1.



   The device illustrated schematically in FIG. I comprises two horizontal tables 1 and 2 respectively, moving in opposite directions in the direction of the arrows 3 and 4 respectively. Above tables 1 and 2 is an upper welding block 5, moving in the direction of the arrows 6, while below tables 1 and 2 is a lower welding block 7 moving in the direction of the arrows 8.



   An upper turnstile 9 comprises arms 10 moving between the block 5, when it is in the upper position, and the upper surfaces of the tables 1 and 2. Each arm 10 carries at its end a clamp 11 and a deflection roller 12. A lower turnstile 13 with arms 14 carrying at the ends of the clamps 15 and deflection rollers 16 is arranged under the tables 1 and 2.



   Two ribbons 17 and 18 respectively, each coming from a roller 19 and 20 through a brake 21 and 22 respectively, are pulled by the clamps 11 and 15 respectively.



   Before the clamp 15 grips the band 18, the assembly of the roller 20 and the brake 22 oscillates to rotate the band 180, so that it is in the right position to finally obtain a Möbius ring.



   All the elements mentioned are actuated and controlled by mechanical, electromechanical or hydromechanical means known as such.



   The device described operates as follows:
 The upper ribbon 17, brought by the clamp 11, and the lower ribbon 18, brought by the clamp 15, are arranged between the tables 1 and 2 and the blocks 5 and 7, as shown from the front in FIG. 2 and seen in plan in fig. 3. The two ribbons 17 and 18 cross at an angle of 100 to 130.



   When the two strips 17 and 18 are in the position shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the lower block 7 rises upwards and presses the ribbons 17 and 18 with its edge 7a against the block 5 (fig. 4). Since the block 5 is provided with an ultrasonic generator, the two strips 17 and 18, made of a thermoplastic material, are welded together along the edge 7a. Welding is immediately followed by a cut along the weld line. Then unfold the welded parts of 17 and 18 to align them, as seen in fig. 6.



   Thus, a weld line 23 with a bead 23a, visible in FIG. 6, is formed, while the ends 17a and 18a of the welded ribbons are thrown in this start phase (fig. 5).



   In the next phase, shown in fig. 6, the bead 23a is brought to the table 1 and flattened by the block 5 which, in this phase, presses the bead 23a against the table 1.



   After these phases, the following pliers 11 and 15, respectively, bring the ribbons 17 and 18 into the position shown in FIG. 7, identical to that of FIG. 3, while the preceding pliers continue to pull the strips 17 and 18, welded along the weld line, in the position shown in FIG. 8. At the same time, a new weld 23 with cutting is made, as seen in FIG. 9, identical to fig. 4. In the next phase, shown in fig. 10, the clamps 11 and 15 have brought the ribbons 17 and 18, welded together with cutting along the weld line, on the tables 1 and 2, and the beads 23a and 23b are flattened by the block, emitting ultrasound.



   After this phase, the two welded tapes are stretched by the first clamps 11 and 15 and presented in the correct position for the welding and flattening operation of the welding bead 23a.



   Thus, we form a Môbius loop, as we see in



  fig. 8 and 11. This Mobius 24 loop is removed by means not shown (fig. Il).



   Thus, the first complete work cycle is completed and the following cycles will be identical.



   The device described can be used in particular for shaping ribbons for typewriters in Möbius loops. Such loops are commonly used in modern typewriters.



   In a variant where an ordinary ring would be formed, the assembly 20-22 would not be rotated by 180 before the clamp 15 grips the strip 18.
