The invention relates to a wheel axle for rail vehicles with a rigid support axle and wheels connected to it.
In the previous system, the wheels of rail vehicles were mounted rigidly on an axle. Since the inner path is shorter than the outer one in curves, one of the two wheels spins empty due to the rigid connection to the other wheel; in other words, it has slip. Due to the centrifugal force of the vehicle, the wheels on the inside of the curve are relieved. So it is primarily the last-named wheels that turn idle or make too many revolutions on the way to be covered. This slip creates friction on the wheels and rails. This causes unnecessary wear to the wheel rims and rails. The unpleasant singing and whistling of the wheels in the curves occurs because they are set into resonance. So far, dampening the resonance on the wheels and lubricating the tracks have helped. In some cases, expensive track lubrication points are installed for this purpose. This results in a sharp drop in performance for locomotives and traction vehicles and at the same time the towed wagons brake due to increased friction. The locomotives are subject to an undesirable loss of power, particularly on winding mountain routes, and the attached wagons also brake.
As a result of the high axle pressure and in the interests of train safety, the wheels had to be refrained from being fitted individually. The large forces in locomotives make it impossible to economically install differential

Es ist daher die Aufgabe der vorliegenden Erfindung,It is therefore the object of the present invention
eine Radachse der eingangs genannten Art ohne die Nach-5 teile der bekannten Radachsen zu schaffen, die derart konstruiert sein soll, dass ein Schlupf der Räder an den Schienen vermieden werden kann.to create a wheel axle of the type mentioned without the disadvantages of 5 parts of the known wheel axles, which should be constructed in such a way that slippage of the wheels on the rails can be avoided.
The object is achieved according to the invention in that two hollow axles are mounted concentrically on the support axle and can rotate independently of one another, on each of which a wheel is mounted. The rotatable hollow axles thus create an independent wheel attachment for the wheels, so that the wheels can can rotate independently.
Each wheel can thus make as many revolutions as it needs for its journey; the inside of the curve less and the outside of the curve more. In the case of wagons, for example, there is no longer any unwanted braking effect, and traction vehicles can transfer their power to the rails with all their wheels. Due to its design, the wheel axle according to the invention is also suitable, for example, for high axle pressures and train safety is also guaranteed, for example .
Advantageous configurations of the wheel axle according to the invention can take place through the features of claims 2 to 9 25. The wheel axle according to the invention can be present as a single axle or, for example, in bogies as a double or multiple axle in rail vehicles of all kinds. It can be present in non-powered wagons as well as in traction vehicles. When used in traction vehicles, for example, there may be independent wheel drive in which each wheel has an independent drive system. However, both wheels of the wheel axle can also be driven separately. Advantageously, the previous wagon material can be converted by inserting the wheel axle according to the invention.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawing in an exemplary embodiment, which shows a section through a non-slip axle.
A support axle 1 is rigidly mounted. Four roller bearings 2 are located on it. A hollow axle 3 is mounted on two roller bearings each. At the outer end of each hollow axle there is a wheel 4 and, in the case of traction vehicles, a gear wheel 5 as well. In the center of the axle there is a center axle part 6 for tracking. Its shape corresponds to that of a hollow cylinder. The two inner bearings 2 are lubricated via this center part of the axle. For this purpose, a bore 8 leading inwards from the jacket of the axle center part 6 is provided, which then splits by 90° in the direction of each bearing 2 . Since the inner bearing 2 rotates when driving, distribution of the lubricant is ensured. The two outer bearings 2 are lubricated in the same way, but from the outside via stuffing boxes 7 with pipe connections 8. These are also fixed on the carrier axle 1 and therefore cannot rotate either. Lubricating nipples or pipe connections for central lubrication can also be provided at the four lubricating points.
In traction vehicles, each wheel has its own motor 9 associated with it. The spinning of a single wheel as a result of bumps on the track or oil on the rails 60 can be prevented with the help of electronic control technology, as is already used in previous single-axle drives. The chassis is preferably placed on the rigid support axle 1 and may support a passenger compartment of a wagon or the body of a locomotive 6S.
