Alle vorerwähnten Klebstoffe enthalten also Wasser.

The invention relates to a method for producing a tube, in that windings of one or more webs or webs to be wound to the tube are glued together, the web or webs being guided to a winding mandrel.
Such z. B. pipes wound from paper have a wide range of uses. Cans can be made from sections of these pipes. Such paper tubes are also used as a roll core in the textile and paper industry. In the paper industry, such paper rolls can have diameters of over 1 m. The tube used as the core must have a high degree of dimensional stability, since otherwise the core of the paper roll is very unbalanced when the core is compressed. The tube serving as the core should therefore be as hard as possible. H. be unyielding for the loads that occur, such as compressive and torsional forces.
To manufacture such pipes from z. B. Paper webs are usually used with water-based adhesives.
These can be aqueous synthetic resin dispersion adhesives such. As polyvinyl acetate or polyvinyl alcohol. But it can also vegetable glues, such as. B. starch or dextrin. Corresponding mixtures of the abovementioned adhesives are also used. Water glass can also be used. All of the aforementioned adhesives therefore contain water. This moisture present in the adhesives is a disadvantage for the mentioned dimensional stability of the pipe to be manufactured, since now, in order to achieve a certain dimensional stability, the wall thickness of the pipe has to be chosen correspondingly thicker because never all water can escape from the finished pipe. This means that the pipe must have more windings, e.g.
more paper and also more adhesive must be used to manufacture the tube if a desired, predetermined dimensional stability of the tube is assumed. However, so-called hot-melt adhesives can also be used, the serious disadvantage being that applying the adhesive in the so-called continuous bath is very dangerous because of the high temperature. This disadvantage can be largely eliminated by using individual glue units per winding track. Hot-melt adhesives generally have the disadvantage of the price side and the manufacturing effort.
The aim is therefore to create a method which can be used to avoid the disadvantages mentioned. It should now be possible to thin-wall a pipe with the same predetermined dimensional stability, i.e. to be able to manufacture cheaper.
The process according to the invention is characterized in that at least one film made of a meltable plastic is fed to the winding mandrel as an adhesive, that the film is subjected to a first heat treatment in order to melt the film and bring it to a temperature such that it adheres to the adjacent one Web occurs, so that this film serves as a laminate at the same time the connection between the individual web windings.
Hot-melt adhesives, so-called hot-melt, have been known for a long time and their advantages as waterless adhesives are also known.
Since, according to the method according to the invention, the film becomes a laminate and thus a binding agent between the individual web windings and how the webs to be wound are fed as an additional web to the winding mandrel, all of the above-mentioned disadvantages can be avoided, especially if a polyethylene film is used , because it serves as a cheap hot melt adhesive. In the non-activated state, the film has no surface stickiness, so that it can be rolled up without a release film (e.g. made of paper). The heat treatment used to melt the film can take place in the immediate vicinity of the adhesive point. This heat treatment can therefore, for. B. in the inlet gap at the mandrel or shortly before.
In the molten and thus activated state, the plastic film then no longer has to travel a long distance until it lies against the web to be wound or between the webs to be wound, so that no external influences (interference) can occur. The length of the delivery path, i.e. from the roll from which the film is unwound to the point of adhesion, is of no importance, since the film is in the non-activated state before the first heat is applied. So changes in the environment remain
temperature, air currents in the room and the occurrence of dust irrelevant to the effect of the adhesive. Activating the film, i.e. heating to melt the film, can be done by means of a hot gas stream, e.g. B. hot air flow, or by means of a heating shoe (hot plate) or z. B.
by means of heating lamps. Melting by means of a hot air stream is particularly advantageous since it can be produced cheaply and can be changed quickly and easily with regard to the intensity of the heat. So the z. B. fan-shaped hot air flow in its direction and in its dimensions can be easily empirically changed in order to achieve the most suitable heat treatment. The heating of the film can thus be controlled quickly and precisely. There is a wide range of regulation options, depending on the type of plastic used for the film, also depending on the thickness of the film and the speed at which the tube is wound. The film used as hot melt adhesive can be a thermoplastic or thermoset.
The most suitable film material can be selected, taking into account price, adhesive effect with the respective web material and combination materials of e.g. B. paper, aluminum, cardboard, refined papers and fabrics. The cheapest film is commercially available polyethylene, but it is advisable to use high-pressure polyethylene.
The film can be used if the pipe is to be wound from only one web or from several webs. If there are several webs, the film is inserted between two adjacent webs in the inlet gap at the winding mandrel. However, the film does not necessarily have to lie against a web to be wound in the inlet gap at the winding mandrel, it can also take place beforehand. So the film z. B. already lie on a web and are fed together with this to the winding mandrel, the glue point then being in the vicinity of the winding mandrel, at which the film is melted. The film can also be in a first contact area with a web, e.g. B. in the inlet gap or shortly before, and then the melted film adhering to the web can be subjected to a subsequent second heat treatment.
With these different possibilities with regard to a first and a second heat treatment, further the position of the glue point, location of the first contact of the film on a web and regulating possibilities of the effect of heat, the different types of plastic that are used in the form of the film as hot-melt adhesive and the type of film to be wound Railway or lanes are taken into account.
By means of the method according to the invention, the exact thickness of the adhesive can also be maintained in the desired manner by appropriately selecting the film thickness. This ensures that no more adhesive mass is consumed than has been found necessary and sufficient in the experiment, and at the same time the dimensional accuracy is guaranteed. By eliminating environmental influences, it can always be achieved that the adhesive is properly bonded to the web and thus the webs to one another. For winding a single tube, films of various types can be used, e.g. B. to take into account different web materials. Since the film from roll and because of the non-adhesive without a z.
B. existing paper can be delivered, both when the winding machine is at a standstill and when a replacement roll is supplied, which carries the film, no problem.
With a given dimensional stability, the tube produced by the method according to the invention has fewer web windings, i. H. the tube wall is thinner. So this tube was made with less web material. As with the known method to date, the tube according to the invention can be wound both helically and in parallel and can have a round, angular or other cross-sectional area.
