Fig. 1 eine schematische Gesamtdarstellung der Anlage,

The invention relates to a plant for the production of granules by built-up roll granulation from pulverulent substances and granulating liquid, with a granulating drum that can be rotated about its inclined axis, the higher end of which is connected to a powder metering device and the lower end of which is connected to a dryer is, spray cans fed by a granulating liquid metering device are arranged in the interior of the granulating drum.
The systems of this type which have become known to date have various deficiencies. In particular, they cannot or only to a very limited extent for soluble, hygroscopic. sticky and partly plastic, fine powdery substances are used in the moist state. Very fine hygroscopic particles, immediately swept away by the spray, get wet and stick to the nozzles and the drum wall. A high solubility and / or hygroscopicity of the products or mixture components very quickly leads to the formation of deposits, especially in the spray zone where any ambient moisture can prevail. The coating detaches from the drum wall and falls down onto the rolling layer, which usually leads to the formation of tubers. For example, soluble dyes with 5 to 15% residual moisture (depending on the product) are viscous and sticky.
The tubers produced in this area of moisture are difficult to shred.
It has now been found that the product and process-specific application range of systems of the type described can be expanded in a very simple manner. This is achieved according to the invention in that the granulating drum is connected to a blower in such a way that an air flow directed from the entrance to the exit can be generated in its interior.
This measure alone can already considerably expand the product and process-specific area of application of the system. It has now been found that the area of application can be expanded even more particularly by adjusting the inclination angle of the granulating drum and / or adjusting the nozzles as flexibly as possible and / or using a specially designed tuber breaker. All of these measures are specifically described in the claims.
The plant according to the invention is particularly suitable for carrying out the process described in Swiss Patent No. 604 880, since this process works with a relatively high granulation moisture.
The system according to the invention is explained in more detail below on the basis of an exemplary embodiment shown in the figures, in which:
1 is an overall schematic representation of the system,
Fig. 2 is a perspective detail view in the direction of arrow II and obliquely to the drawing plane of Fig. 1 on a larger scale and
Fig. 3 is a section along the line III-III of Fig. 1 also on a larger scale.
The figures show: the powder metering device with PD, the granulating drum with GT, the ganulating liquid metering device with FD, the tuber crusher with KB and the dryer with TR.
The GT granulating drum is rotatably mounted and can be driven by a motor. The speed is preferably infinitely variable in a range from about 5 to 10 rpm. Their inclination to the horizontal is optionally adjustable, preferably in a range of about 1 to 5 ". The inclination adjustability is indicated in FIGS. 1 and 3 by a table-like support 1 which is rotatable about an axis 2 and fixable in the desired positions. The pelletizing drum rests on two rollers 60 and 61 mounted on this carrier, one of which can be driven by means of a motor, not shown.
The powder metering device PD is of conventional design and comprises two storage containers 3a and 3b, two metering screws 4a and 4b and a metering belt weigher 5 known per se. The outlet 6 of the metering device PD opens through a central opening of a front cover plate 7 into the upper part of the Granulating drum GT.
The granulating liquid metering device FD is also of conventional design and comprises a storage container 8 and a metering pump 9. A line 10 leads from the metering pump 9 through a cover 11 to nozzles 12, 13, 14 and 15 arranged in the granulating drum GT.
The tuber crusher KB is through a bal
Genetic line 16 connected to the granule outlet of the cover 11 of the granulating drum GR. The outlet of the tuber breaker opens into the production inlet 17 of the dryer TR.
The dryer TR is a so-called fluid bed dryer of the usual type with two supply air chambers and oblique vibration movement with adjustable amplitude. The dryer TR is connected to an air treatment device LA, which is also of conventional design and includes, among other things, a filter 18, a blower 19 and two heat exchangers 20a and 20b.
A screening chamber 22 is connected to the production outlet 21 of the dryer TR. A Gutkom container 24 is connected to the fine material outlet 23 located under the sieve 22s (vibrating sieve) of this chamber. The dryer dome is connected to a suction fan 70 via a line 26 and a filter chamber 27. The fines are sucked out of the dryer through this line 26. They are retained in the filter chamber and fall down through a funnel-shaped part 28 into a container 29 connected to this chamber. In this part, a funnel-shaped part also opens an incoming line from the large outlet 25 of the sieve chamber. The grains which are too coarse and too fine are thus collected in the container 29.
The connection between the dryer TR, the tuber crusher KB and the granulating drum GT and the introduction of the metering outlet 6 into the latter are so tight that an air flow of approximately 0.02 to 0.2 m / s is formed in the granulating drum due to the suction effect of the blower 70 can.
As can be seen from FIG. 2, the granulating drum GT has an inwardly projecting, relatively low annular flange 30, which forms a kind of overflow for the product. This flange is interchangeable, making it easy to change the height of the overflow. The hood 11 encloses the lower end of the drum dust and gas-tight to a certain extent. The front of the cover is equipped with sliding doors 38a and 38b.
The nozzles 12 to 15 sit on a rod-like carrier 31, which in turn is fastened in the interior of the hood 11 by means of a holder. This holder enables universal adjustment of the nozzles symbolized by the arrows X, Y and Z in the longitudinal direction (X), in the vertical direction (Y) and with respect to the angle (Z). For this purpose, the holder comprises a component 40 with two mutually perpendicular clamps 32 and 33, one (32) of which is slidably and fixably mounted on a vertical rod 34 attached to the hood, and the other (33) on a second rod 35 sits, which runs parallel to the longitudinal axis of the rod-like nozzle carrier 31 and is firmly connected to this by a component 36. The clamp 32 enables the height adjustment Y and the clamp 33 the longitudinal and the angular adjustment X or Z.
The spray nozzles 12 to 15 are connected to the granulation liquid supply line 10 via a collector 37.
This collector has a valve 12v, 13v, 14v and 15v for each spray nozzle. The spray nozzles are preferably single-component pressure nozzles with a swirl body and with a hole diameter of approximately 0.1 to 0.6 mm. The swirl body is interchangeable, which means that the spray cone angle can be adjusted.
As can be seen from FIG. 3, the granulating drum is provided on the inside with axially parallel ribs 41. The height of these ribs is preferably about 20 mm. A fender 42 is arranged like a roof over the row of nozzles 12 to 15. The plate 42 and the nozzle holder 31 are connected to a vibrator 43.
As can be seen from FIG. 2, the tuber crusher KB consists of a sieve drum 50 which can be driven by a motor 51 and which is enclosed at the bottom at a distance by a channel-like sieve 52. This novel double sieve arrangement is located in the lower part of a funnel-like housing 53, the lower sieve 52 being fixed to the housing walls at its two edges, but being easily replaceable.
The distance between the two screens 50 and 52 is optionally adjustable and is normally 6 to 15 mm. The speed of the sieve 50 can be regulated between 40 and 120 rpm. The mesh size of each of the two screens is preferably about 8 mm. The two screens are arranged as shown so that their webs are preferably at an angle of approximately 45 to one another.
The system works as follows:
The plant works continuously.
The product to be granulated is fed continuously from the powder metering device PD via its outlet 6 into the upper end of the rotating granulating drum GR. At the same time, the FD liquid metering device also continuously sprays granulating liquid through the nozzles 12 to 15 inside the granulating drum. The blower 70 is set in such a way that (via 27-26TR-17-KB-161 1) an air flow occurs at a speed of approximately 0.02 to 0.2 m / s in the granulating drum.
The powder and liquid dosing, the speed of the pelletizing drum and its inclination as well as the number of effective spray nozzles and their position, spray direction and spray cone are adapted to the material to be pelletized. Furthermore, the characteristic of the granulation can be influenced by the height of the overflow 30 (FIG. 2).
The granulation process is best seen in Fig. 3.
The vibrator 43 is switched on during the granulation process. This largely prevents crust formation on the mudguard 42 and on the nozzle holder 31.
The wet granulate formed by granulation in the granulation drum falls into the tuber crusher KB. Any tubers between the sieves 52 and 50 are crushed there with relatively low shear forces. The product falls from the bulb crusher into the dryer TR.
In the dryer TR, the fine fraction is carried along with the exhaust air to the filter 27 during the drying process.
The dryer therefore also acts as an air classifier. The air flow conditions in the dryer hood or in the dome are decisive for the sighting. The vacuum in the dryer outlet is regulated between about 50 to 70 Nm-2. At the dryer outlet 21, the granules in the sieve chamber 22 are divided into oversize and oversize. The gut grain falls into the container 29. In the last, the too fine fractions reach via 26-27-28.
