EMI1.6
EMI2.2
und R5 -COOCH3 darstellen.
Besonders interessante Einzelverbindungen sind z.B.:
N-( 1 '-Methoxycarbonyläthyl)-N-(methylsulfonoxi)acetyl-2,6 dimethylanilin, N-(I I '-Methoxycarbonyläthyl)-N-(äthylsulfonoxi)acetyl-2,6- dimethylanilin, 1 I '-Methoxycarbonyläthyl)-N-(n-propylsulfonoxi)acetyl-2,6- dimethylanilin,
N-( I '-Methoxycarbonyläthyl)-N-(n-butylsulfonoxi)acetyl-2,6 dimethylanilin, N-( l '-Methoxycarbonyläthyl)-N-(methylaminosulfonoxi)acetyl-2,6dimethylanilin, N-(l -Methoxycarbonyläthyl)-N-(methylsulfonoxi)acetyl-2,3,6- trimethylanilin.

Biologische Beispiele
A. Wirkung gegen Phytophthora infestans auf Tomaten (= Solanum lycopersicum) I) Kurative Wirkung
B. Wirkung gegen Plasmopara viticola (Bert. et Curt.) (Berl. et DeToni) auf Reben I) Resiciualpräventivr Wirkung

In the context of the present invention, crop plants are, for example, cereals, maize, rice, vegetables, sugar beets, soybeans, peanuts, fruit trees, ornamental plants, but above all vines, hops, cucumber plants (cucumbers, pumpkins, melons), solanaceae such as potatoes, tobacco and tomatoes, and also also banana, cocoa and natural rubber plants.
With the active compounds of the formula I, the fungi which occur on plants or parts of plants (fruits, flowers, leaves, stems, tubers, roots) of these and related crops can be contained or destroyed, and plant parts which are growing later are also spared by such fungi. The active substances are active against the phytopathogenic fungi belonging to the following classes: Ascomycetes (e.g. Erysiphaceae); Basidiomycetes such as especially rust fungi; Fungi imperfecti such as Cercospora; then especially against the Oomycetes belonging to the class of the Phycomycetes such as Phytophthora, Peronospora, Pseudoperonospora, Pythium or Plasmopara. In addition, the compounds of the formula I have a systemic action.
They can also be used as dressing agents for the treatment of seeds (fruits, tubers, grains) and plant cuttings for the protection of fungal infections and against phytopathogenic fungi occurring in the soil.
An interesting group due to their action are those which contain compounds of the formula I in which
R, methyl or methoxy R2 methyl, ethyl, butoxy, chlorine or bromine
R3 is hydrogen, methyl, chlorine or bromine and
R4 is hydrogen or methyl.
At R, alkyl or the group optionally substituted by halogen
EMI2.1
prefers.
Also of interest are agents with compounds of the formula I from the above two groups, in which Rl is methyl, R2 is methyl or ethyl and R3 is hydrogen or methyl.
Also to be emphasized are agents with compounds from the above three groups in which the substituent R2 is ortho to the amino group.
In Formula I and especially within these four groups, agents with those active ingredients are preferred in which
EMI2.2
and R5 represent -COOCH3.
Particularly interesting individual connections include:
N- (1'-methoxycarbonylethyl) -N- (methylsulfonoxy) acetyl-2,6-dimethylaniline, N- (II '-methoxycarbonylethyl) -N- (ethylsulfonoxy) acetyl-2,6-dimethylaniline, 1 I' -methoxycarbonylethyl) - N- (n-propylsulfonoxy) acetyl-2,6-dimethylaniline,
N- (I '-methoxycarbonylethyl) -N- (n-butylsulfonoxy) acetyl-2,6-dimethylaniline, N- (l'-methoxycarbonylethyl) -N- (methylaminosulfonoxy) acetyl-2,6-dimethylaniline, N- (l-methoxycarbonylethyl) -N- (methylsulfonoxy) acetyl-2,3,6-trimethylaniline.
The new compounds of formula I are prepared by using a compound of formula II
EMI2.3
or their salt, preferably alkali salt, with a compound of formula III
Hal converts SO2 R7 (III), if necessary in the presence of an acid-binding agent, where in the formulas II and III the substituents R1 to R7 are as defined under formula I and Hal represents halogen, preferably chlorine or bromine.
The reactions can be carried out in the presence or absence of solvents or diluents which are inert to the reactants. For example, the following are possible: aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbons such as benzene, toluene, xylenes, petroleum ether; halogenated hydrocarbons such as chlorobenzene, methylene chloride, ethylene chloride, chloroform; Ether and ethereal compounds such as dialkyl ether, dioxane, tetrahydrofuran; Nitriles such as acetonitrile; N, N-dialkylated amides such as dimethylformamide, dimethyl sulfoxide and mixtures of such solvents with one another.
The following bases are suitable as acid-binding agents: tertiary amines such as triethylamine, dimethylaniline, pyridine bases, inorganic bases such as hydroxides and carbonates of alkali and alkaline earth metals, preferably sodium and potassium carbonate.
The reaction can be carried out at temperatures between - 40 and +180 C, preferably - 20 "and + 60 C, and under normal pressure.
The preparation of the starting material of the formula II is generally carried out analogously to methods known per se (see, for example, German Offenlegungsschrift No. 2417781). The new starting materials of formula II and a further process for their preparation are described in Swiss Patent No. 621042.
There are two possible asymmetric carbon atoms in the compounds of the formula I, which can be found at positions 1 and 2 in the following formula:
EMI2.4
1 * asymmetrical if X
EMI2.5
means 2 * asymmetrical if R6 is methyl.
The preparation of the pure optical isomers can e.g. by using already separated antipodes of the starting materials. These are e.g. obtained by salt formation with optically active bases with subsequent fractional crystallization, and release of the corresponding antipode.
Regardless of the optical isomerism, an atropisomerism around the phenyl-N # axis is usually observed in cases where the phenyl ring is unsymmetrical to this axis (possibly also by the presence of additional substituents).
Unless a specific synthesis for the isolation of pure isomers is carried out, a product is usually obtained as a mixture of all isomers.
The following examples serve to explain the invention in more detail without restricting it. The temperature specifications relate to degrees Celsius. Unless otherwise noted, the term racemic mixture is always used to refer to an active ingredient of the formula I which can occur in optically active forms.
Manufacturing example
Preparation of: N- (l'-methoxycarbonylethyl) -N- (methylsulfonoxy) acetyl-2,6dimethylaniline of the formula
EMI3.1
26.5 g of N- (l'-methoxycarbonylethyl) -N-hydroxyacetyl-2,6-dimethylaniline and 8.7 g of pyridine in 150 ml of acetonitrile were added dropwise while stirring at 5 "CC with 12.6 g of methanesulfonyl chloride in 50 ml After stirring for 8 hours at room temperature, the reaction mixture was poured onto 500 ml of water, extracted 3 × mil each with 150 ml of methylene chloride, the combined extracts were dried over sodium sulfate, filtered and the solvent was evaporated off. The solid residue melts after crystallization from ether / Petroleum ether (40-60) at 58-61 "C.
The following connections can be made using the method given above.

The compounds of formula I can be used alone or together with suitable carriers and / or other additives.
Suitable carriers and additives can be solid or liquid and correspond to the substances commonly used in formulation technology, e.g. natural or regenerated mineral substances, solvents, dispersants, wetting agents, adhesives, thickeners, binders or fertilizers.
The content of active ingredient in commercially available agents is preferably between 0.1 to 90%.
For application, the active compounds of the formula I can be present in the following processing forms (the percentages by weight in brackets representing advantageous amounts of active compound):
Fixed processing forms:
Dusts and grit (up to 10%): pellets (grains),
Granules, coating granules, impregnation granules and homogeneous granules (I to 80%);
Liquid processing forms: a) Water-dispersible active ingredient concentrates: wettable powders and pastes (25-90% in the retail pack,
0.01 to 15% in ready-to-use solution); Emulsion and
Solution concentrates (10 to 50%; 0.01 to 15% in ready-to-use solution); b) solutions (0.1 to 20%); Aerosols.
The active ingredients of the formula I can be formulated, for example, as follows: dusts:
The following substances are used to produce a) 5% and b) 2% dusts: a) 5 parts of active ingredient
95 parts of talc b) 2 parts of active ingredient
1 part of highly disperse silica

The active ingredients are mixed and ground with the carriers and can be dusted in this form for use.
Granules:
The following substances are used to produce 5% granules:
5 parts of active ingredient
0.25 parts of epoxidized vegetable oil
0.25 part of cetyl polyglycol ether
3.50 parts of polyethylene glycol 91 parts of kaolin (grain size 0.3-0.8 mm)
The active substance is mixed with epoxidized vegetable oil and dissolved with 6 parts of acetone, then polyethylene glycol and cetyl polyglycol ether are added. The solution thus obtained is sprayed onto kaolin, and the acetone is then evaporated off in vacuo. Such microgranules are advantageously used to control soil fungi.
Spray powder:
The following constituents are used to prepare a) 70% b) 40% c) and d) 25% e) 10% wettable powder: a) 70 parts of active ingredient
5 parts of sodium dibutylnaphthyl sulfonate
3 naphthalenesulfonic acid phenolsulfonic acid formaldehyde condensate 3: 2: 1

12 parts of champagne chalk b) 40 parts of active ingredient
5 parts of lignosulfonic acid sodium salt
1 part dibutylnaphthalenesulfonic acid sodium salt
54 parts of silica c) 25 parts of active ingredient
4.5 parts of calcium lignin sulfonate
1.9 parts of champagne chalk / hydroxyethyl cellulose mixture (1:
:1)
1.5 parts of sodium dibutylnaphthalenesulfonate
19.5 parts of silica
19.5 parts champagne chalk
28.1 parts of kaolin d) 25 parts of active ingredient
2.5 parts isooctylphenoxypolyoxyethylene ethanol
1.7 parts champagne chalk / hydroxyethyl cellulose mixture (1: 1)
8.3 parts of sodium aluminum silicate
16.5 parts diatomaceous earth
46 parts of kaolin e) 10 parts of active ingredient
3 parts mixture of the sodium salts of saturated fat alcohol sulfates
5 parts of naphthalenesulfonic acid / formaldehyde condensate
82 parts of kaolin
The active ingredients are intimately mixed with the additives in suitable mixers and ground on appropriate mills and rollers. Spray powder of excellent wettability and suspension is obtained, which can be diluted with water to form suspensions of the desired concentration and can be used in particular for leaf application.
Detachable puke (rate:
The following substances are used to produce a 25% emulsifiable concentrate: 25 parts of active ingredient
2.5 parts of epoxidized vegetable oil and 10 parts of an alkyl aryl sulfonate / fatty alcohol polyglycol ether mixture
5 parts of dimethylformamide 57.5 parts of xylene
Such concentrates can be diluted with water to produce emulsions of the desired concentration, which are particularly suitable for foliar application.
The compounds of the formula I can be used to broaden the spectrum of action of such compositions with other suitable pesticidal or plant growth-promoting active ingredients.
Biological examples
A. Effect against Phytophthora infestans on tomatoes (= Solanum lycopersicum) I) Curative effect
Tomato plants of the red gnome variety are sprayed with a zoospore suspension of the fungus after three weeks of cultivation and incubated in a cabin at 18 to 20 C and saturated air humidity. Interruption of moistening after 24 hours. After the plants have dried, they are sprayed with a broth which contains the active substance formulated as wettable powder in a concentration of 0.06%. After the spray coating has dried on, the plants are set up again in the wet room for 4 days. The number and size of the typical leaf spots that appear after this time are the evaluation standard for the effectiveness of the tested substances.
II) Preventive systemic effect
The active substance, formulated as a wettable powder, is applied in a concentration of 0.006% (based on the soil volume) to the soil surface of three-week-old potted tomato plants of the Roter Gnom variety. After waiting three days, the underside of the plants is sprayed with a zoo spore suspension of Phytophthora infestans. They are then kept in a spray booth at 18 to 209C and saturated humidity for 5 days. After this time, typical leaf spots form, the number and size of which serve to evaluate the effectiveness of the substances tested.
When using, for example, the compounds 1, 10, 16, 38, 44a, 58, 76, 78, 96, 102, 112 or 126a, a good effect was achieved in tests I and II (reduction of the infection to less than 20% in comparison with untreated controls).
B. Effect against Plasmopara viticola (Bert. Et Curt.) (Berl. Et DeToni) on vines I) Resiciual preventive effect
Vine cuttings of the Chasselas variety were grown in the greenhouse. In the 10-Blaít stage, 3 plants were sprayed with a broth (0.05% active ingredient) prepared from the active ingredient formulated as a wettable powder. After the spray coating had dried on, the plants on the underside of the leaf were evenly infected with the spore suspension of the fungus. The plants were then kept in a moist chamber for 8 days.
After this time, clear disease symptoms appeared on the control plants. The number and size of the infection sites on the treated plants served as a benchmark for the effectiveness of the tested substances.
II) Curative effect
Chasselas vine cuttings were grown in the greenhouse and infected at the 10-leaf stage with a spore suspension of Plasmopara viticola on the underside of the leaf. After 24 hours
Staying in the wet room, the plants were sprayed with a 0.05% active ingredient broth which had been prepared from a wettable powder of the active ingredient. The plants were then kept in the wet room for 7 days. After this time the disease symptoms appeared on the control plants.
The number and size of the infection sites on the treated plants served as a benchmark for the effectiveness of the tested substances.
The compounds of the formulas (e.g. verb no. 1, 10, 16, 31, 38, 44a, 58, 76, 78 or 96) showed good foliar fungicidal activity in these two experiments.
C. Effect against Pythium debaryanum on sugar beet (Beta vulgaris) Effect after soil application
The mushroom was grown on sterile oat grains and added to a soil-sand mixture. The soil infected in this way was filled into flower pots and sown with sugar beet seeds. Immediately after sowing, the test preparation formulated as a wettable powder was poured over the earth as an aqueous suspension (20 ppm of active ingredient based on the volume of the earth). The pots were then placed in a greenhouse at about 20 ° C. for 2-3 weeks. The earth was always kept evenly moist by light showering.
When evaluating the test, the emergence of the sugar beet plants and the proportion of healthy and sick plants were determined.
When using compounds of the formula I, inter alia, compounds No. 1, 10, 31, 38, 44a, 58, 76, 78, 96, 102 or 126a, the infection was inhibited to less than 20%.
