Abstract
1530598 Watches SUWA SEIKOSHA KK 20 Nov 1975 [21 Nov 1974] 47821/75 Heading G3T In a timepiece, e.g. a quartz crystal watch, having a seconds hand, a device is provided to permit adjustment of the hand, in the forward direction only, to the next one of a plurality of predetermined positions each of which is spaced from the next by an interval corresponding to 10n seconds where n is a whole number from 1 to 3. As shown the device comprises a cam 1 coupled to the seconds hand shaft and having four asymmetrical lobes 1c which are engageable by a hammer 8 to advance the hand to the next nearest ten seconds. The hammer is pivoted at 10 and coupled to stem 3 by a pin 9 on a lever 9a. When the stem is pulled out, the hammer is rotated clockwise, advancing the cam 1 and displacing a lever 14 against spring 17 to open a switch in the timepiece drive circuit; rotor 5 of a stepping motor is thus stopped. When the stem is pushed in, the drive circuit is reclosed and the hammer retracted. The cam 1 is fixed to a wheel 4 meshing with rotor pinion 5a.
