Abstract

The piezoelelectric vibrator of the tuning-fork type for time-measuring instruments is constructed as a flexural vibrator. The mounting device (38) for supporting the vibrating element (35) is fixed at one end only at the base. The holder (39a) extends at right angles to the broad side of the vibrating element (35) and penetrates an insulator (40a) in the housing. This arrangement produces a favourable behaviour with respect to the dissipation of the vibration and the stability of the resonant frequency. <IMAGE>
