11. The method according to claim 8, characterized in that a paper web (2) is used as the backing layer.
Artificial leather usually consists of several layers.
The top of the artificial leather forms the so-called top layer, which can be connected to a middle layer.
This laminate is bound to a carrier layer by means of a primer or adhesive layer. If the artificial leather is to have a certain pattern, decorations or color effects, the surface is printed or colored in an optionally multi-stage process.
The disadvantage of this manufacturing process is that the printing process is relatively complicated and expensive, and the leather loses its original luster as a result of the printing process and has a visually unfavorable appearance. In addition, the printing and dyes applied to the surface are only resistant to light, heat and abrasion to a limited extent, so that leather produced in this way is only suitable to a limited extent for shoe production, for example.
The object of the invention is to create an artificial leather material which has superficially visible patterns, colored ornaments or the like, which do not wear off or peel off even under heavy use and which do not impair the surface gloss of the artificial leather.
This is achieved according to the invention by a synthetic leather laminate consisting of a top layer and a carrier layer as well as at least one intermediate layer, the top layer being provided with a transparent or translucent protective layer made of plastic, characterized in that the protective layer is coated on the back with a color layer or with a Pattern is provided and has a thickness of 0.01 to 1 mm.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the thickness of the plastic layer is between 0.025 and 0.05 mm.
The protective layer can consist of a polyamide, PVC or polyurethane, for example in the form of acrylic resin dispersions, preferably an aliphatic one-component polyurethane.
The invention also relates to a method for producing an artificial leather material, which is characterized in that the protective layer is applied as a paste formed from a plastic and a solvent in a substantially uniform thickness of 0.05 to 0.4 mm on an underlayer, that the protective layer is printed and / or provided with a color layer after curing on the side facing away from the backing layer, and that the top layer and the intermediate layer and then a carrier layer is then applied to the printed and / or colored side of the protective layer and then the The backing layer is peeled off the protective layer.
The invention will now be described in more detail with reference to the drawing, in which FIGS. 1 to 5 show the various process steps for producing a synthetic leather laminate according to the invention.
A paper web 2, which is continuously moved in the direction of arrow A, is applied to a conveyor belt or a roller conveyor 1. The protective layer 3 is now applied to the paper web 2 from a storage container 8 in the form of a plastic paste by means of a doctor blade (not shown). Polyamides, PVC and polyurethanes have proven themselves as plastic for the paste. It is essential that it is a transparent or at least translucent material that is waterproof, lightfast, abrasion-resistant and kink-resistant. An aliphatic one-component polyurethane has proven particularly useful, with isopropyl alcohol or toluene being used as the solvent. Isocyanate-modified polyesters, polyamide and acrylic acid derivatives, latex-like polymers and the like are also suitable for the protective layer.
The protective layer is applied in the plastic state to a thickness of approximately 0.05 to 0.4, preferably 0.1 to 0.2. After curing, for example in a drying tunnel, the protective layer then has a thickness of 0.01 to 0.1 mm and preferably between 0.025 and 0.05 mm. The paper web 2 can be provided with an embossing to which the surface of the protective layer 3 adapts. After the protective layer 3 has hardened, possibly even beforehand, a printing and / or ink layer 4 is now applied in a known manner with a printing cylinder 16, with no special requirements being made of the printing and ink materials used in terms of adhesion and abrasion resistance , as the printed surface is not exposed to any significant stresses after the artificial leather has been finished. For example, nitro emulsions have proven particularly useful as printing materials.
The cover layer 5 is now also applied to the printing or ink layer 4 in the form of a paste using a doctor blade from
a storage container 9 applied. As material for the
PVC or polyurethane, which is preferably cured in a drying tunnel at around 1600, is suitable. On the cover layer 5, an adhesive layer 6 is now also in the form of a paste, for example made of PVC or polyurethane and a carrier layer 7 is applied to the latter from a storage container 10. Woven fabrics, such as roughened fabrics made of cotton or synthetic fibers or knitted fabrics, composite textiles or the like, are used as the carrier layer.
After the adhesive layer 6 has adhered to the carrier layer 7, the paper web 2 is made by using
Deflection rollers 13, 14 slowly withdrawn from the protective layer 3 and thus obtained the finished product.
According to the invention, the printing or color layer is therefore not applied to the outer surface of the artificial leather, but rather to the back of a thin transparent or translucent layer. As a result, it is not necessary to make the printing or ink layer heat-resistant and abrasion-resistant, since it is not exposed to any stresses. As a result, the printing process is considerably simplified and cheaper, and an end product is obtained which meets the highest demands in terms of surface gloss.
