3. Table pepper plant according to claim 1, characterized by a housing (I) in the form of a cylinder, where the batteries (2), the motor (3) and the grinding device (8) are superimposed on each other.
4. Table pepper plant according to claim 1, characterized by a housing (15) in cubic shape, where the batteries (16), the motor (17) and the grinding device (19) are stored one beside the other.
The present invention relates to an electric table pepper pot. As we often see, the vast majority of pepper plants that are found on the table, especially in restaurants, hotels and other places frequented by large audiences, do not function satisfactorily. In order to eliminate this drawback, the table pepper plant according to the invention comprises the combination of an electric motor with reduction gear driving the device for grinding peppercorns, a mercury switch arranged in series in the electrical circuit, connecting the motor when tilting the pepper plant to more than 20 from the vertical and a box containing the motor, the gear, the grinding device and the switch.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, two embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows, schematically and in axial section, a table pepper plant of cylindrical shape as a first embodiment.
Fig. 2 shows a cubic-shaped table pepper plant as a second embodiment.
The table pepper plant according to fig. 1 comprises a protective casing made of anticorrosive sheet 1, cylindrical, divided into sections, one for the batteries or accumulators 2, a second section for the motor 3 and the mercury switch 4 and the reduction gear 5. The latter consists of 4 toothed wheels, with straight teeth, in brass, fixed on shafts fitted with pinions. The motor drive shaft is provided with a pinion which drives the play of the toothed wheels. The final toothed wheel of the reduction gear is fixed to the output shaft of the latter. The output shaft 6 passes through the center of the housing, on the side opposite to that of the motor.
The gear is calculated in such a way that the speed of rotation of the output shaft is about 100 rpm, or a reduction ratio of 50: 1.
The motor supply current is supplied by dry cells or by rechargeable elements (accumulators) connected in series so as to obtain a voltage of 6 V, respectively 12 V. These elements are mounted between two plates which surmount the driving part. described below. The terminal poles of the batteries are connected to the poles of the motor by means of two switches, namely:
a mercury switch 4 constructed such that an inclination of more than 20 from the vertical, in any direction, closes the circuit, and
a push-button microswitch 7 of the usual type with two positions (closed and open) mounted in series with the mercury switch 4 and allowing the latter to be switched on or off.
The pepper mill 8 consists of a cylindrical chamber, made from a section of 50/40 mm tube and 55 mm in length, in transparent acrylic resin. The upper part of the chamber is formed by the base of the reduction gear housing and is integral with the latter, since it is screwed with three screws into the thickness of the walls of the acrylic resin tube. At its lower part, the chamber ends with the hollow metal grinding cone. This has in the center a vertical hole 9 passing completely through it. The periphery of the hole is milled with vertical teeth widening from bottom to top. In this conical hole is placed the cutter 10, fixed at its upper part to the output shaft 6 of the reduction gear.
At its lower part, the end of the bur has a pin which pivots in a hole drilled in the center of a brass barrier fixed to the base of the pepper plant. During the rotation of the cutter, the peppercorns introduced through the loading orifice 12, contained in the acrylic resin chamber, are increasingly stuck in the space between the hollow cone and the cutter. As a result of the grooves in the hole in the cone and on the strawberry, the peppercorns are ground more and more finely and fall out as long as the pepper motor is running, i.e. the pepper plant. is tilted more than 20- from vertical.
Fig. 1 shows the first embodiment, where the elements (batteries, motor, reduction gear and the grinding device) are superimposed on each other.
Fig. 2 shows the second embodiment of the table pepper plant according to the invention with a cubic-shaped housing 15, where the elements (batteries 16, motor 17, gear 18 and the grinding device 19) are stored side by side the other. The output shaft 20 of the reduction gear does not exit in the middle of the housing 15, but at a point between the center and the circumference of the housing. The batteries 16 are attached to the wall 21 which divides the interior of the housing in two. The push-button switches 22 and mercury 23, placed in series, arranged above the gear 18, are of the same character as those of FIG. 1.
The cutter 26, at its lower part, pivots in the hole of a bar 27 fixed to the base of the mill and, at its upper part, its shaft 20 emerges on the surface of the upper square plate. The output shaft 20 of the reduction gear 19 of the motor 17, on the one hand, of the shaft of the cutter 26. on the other hand, each carry a toothed wheel, meshing with one another. As a result, the motor 17 while rotating drives, via the reduction gear 18, the cutter 26 of the pepper mill. The current necessary to power the motor 17 is supplied by 8 dry cells 16 of 1.5 V each, arranged in two blocks of 4 cells, blocks arranged in the two diagonally opposite corners, remaining free.
The table pepper plant works as follows. The peppercorns are filled into the grinding device through the loading port 12, 24 and the pushbutton switch is placed in the on position. As soon as the table pepper plant is tilted more than 20 from the vertical, the electrical circuit is closed and the motor 3, 17 turns and the grinding device 8, 19 produces ground pepper, falling on the dishes from the open bottom of the housing.
