Abstract

The display device includes on its lower part a fixed dial (4) which can have an ordinary arrangement. It is however coated with a polarising layer. Above this dial, the hour and minute indicator members (3 and 2) are transparent discs provided with guide marks (6 and 5). The disc (3) is covered with a polarising layer, so that the bottom of the dial varies gradually in aspect between a dark shade and a bright shade when it is viewed through the disc (3). The glass (1) can have an opaque decoration (7). The guide mark (6) may represent a sun and the polarising layers may be configured so that the dial shows a bright shade at midday and at 6 h and a dark shade at 3 h and at 9 h. <IMAGE>
