The invention relates to a device for stripping electrical cables.
Numerous, highly developed pliers and devices are known for stripping cables with insulation diameters of up to 5 mm, which allow effortless work without damaging the bare conductors.
For cables with larger insulation diameters up to approx.
14 mm, especially for those with several wires, a hand tool is available for stripping which has a longitudinal and a transverse groove and a depth-adjustable knife. The knife must be set to a depth corresponding to the sheath insulation thickness. Then the cable is to be placed in the transverse groove and the knife is to be pressed into the jacket insulation. The tool is then to be rotated around the axis of the cable with thumb pressure against the cable.
Then the cable is to be placed in the longitudinal groove and pulled out of it with thumb pressure. The jacket insulation should then be removable by hand. Since the wall thickness of the sheath insulation is not constant in multi-core cables, the stripping cannot easily take place if the knife is not set to the maximum sheath insulation thickness.
In addition, it is difficult to always keep the knife cut at the same incision depth using thumb pressure. There is then the risk that the knife will be set to the maximum wall thickness of the sheath insulation, but the insulation of the wires will now be damaged.
In addition, to work with this tool, a screwdriver is required as a second tool for setting the cutting depth. As a third tool, special pliers are required to strip the wires.
The invention has for its object to make the stripping of the sheath and wire by means of a single device a wall-free.
According to the invention, this is achieved in that a housing has a through opening which can be narrowed by means of three jaws offset by 1200 and connected with spring-loaded bolts, that between these three knives offset by 1200 with spring-loaded bolts are arranged adjustable towards the center, that An adjusting ring with an inner cone is arranged via an external thread on the housing, so that the housing and the adjusting ring are surrounded by a centrally mounted casing housing in which two clamping jaws, a lever and a spring-loaded plunger are mounted.
The adjusting ring can at least partially have a grooving on its outer surface.
The jacket housing can have a groove.
The plunger can be connected to a button.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is described in more detail below with reference to the accompanying drawing.
Show it
Fig. 1 is a view of the insertion side of the through opening
Fig. 2 shows a section along the line A-A in Figs
3 shows a view from the rear with the cover of the device lifted off.
The housing 1 has a through opening 2. Three jaws 4 offset by 1200 are connected to bolts 3.
These are pressed by the springs 14 against the inner cone 9 of the adjusting ring 8. This is rotatably arranged on the external thread 7 of the housing 1. The knives 5, which can be adjusted concentrically with respect to the center, are offset from one another by 1200 and are connected to the bolts 6. The bolts 6 are supported against the inner cone 9 by springs 14.
The jacket housing 10 sits concentrically on the housing 1 and partially surrounds the adjusting ring 8. The adjusting ring 8 and the jacket housing 10 are each provided with a groove 15 or
16 formed. These serve to rotate the adjusting ring 8 in a non-positive manner or to rotate the device about a cable end inserted into the through opening 2. By turning the adjusting ring 8 clockwise, it is screwed more onto the external thread 7 of the housing 1.
As a result, the bolts 3 and 6 run onto the inner cone 9 and push the jaws 4 and the knives 5 towards the center of the through opening 1. The jaws 4 are thus adapted to the diameter of the cable to be stripped and the cutting depth of the knife 5 is adapted to the sheath insulation thickness.
The sheath insulation is cut off by rotating the device alternately in both directions around the cable axis. Any residues not caught between the wires are torn loose by the robust device when it is stripped. The individual wires can then be stripped. For this purpose, these are inserted through the rear hole of the opening 21 and guided between the clamping jaws 11 and 17. By pressing the button 18 with a finger, the plunger 19 lowers against the spring 20 and the lever 22 lifts the movable jaw 17 against the fixed jaw 11. The core insulation is clamped and stripped from the bare conductor by pulling on the core.
This gives the fitter a means to remove cables of different diameters from the jacket and core insulation properly with a single tool.
