Abstract
The joint sleeve is for connection of hard or soft pipes of pref. thermoplastic material, to smooth unprofiled pipe ends. The sleeve consists of two pipe insertion sections, and an intermediate collar, serving as a stop for the pushed-in pipe ends. The internal surfaces of the insertion sections (1, 2) have longitudinal ribs (4). The ribs extend from the ends (6, 7) of the sections over parts of their internal surfaces, and decrease in size inwards. The sleeve consists of a transparent synthetic resin.
Description
Fig. 1 einen Langsschnitt und
Fig. 2 einen Querschnitt durch die Muffe.
The invention relates to a sleeve for connecting pipes made of we chem or hard, preferably thermoplastic material with smooth, unprofiled pipe ends, which sleeve consists of at least two pipe insert parts and an inner collar arranged between these parts and serving as a stop for the pipe ends.
When laying plastic pipes in new buildings, connecting sleeves without retaining ribs are often used for the pipe ends to be connected. These sleeves have the disadvantage that plastic pipes inserted into the insertion openings easily fall out, which can have disastrous effects when concreting in new buildings.
It is also known to provide the insertion bores in sleeves with a greater or lesser number of annular ribs which prevent the plastic pipes from falling out. The manufacture of such sleeves is relatively expensive.
Simpler sleeves are also necessary, particularly for laying electrical lines.
The object of the invention is to create a relatively simple, not too expensive sleeve in which the pipe ends to be connected are prevented from easily falling out of the pipe insertion parts.
According to the invention, this is achieved in that the insides of the tube insert parts are provided with longitudinal ribs.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the socket according to the invention is shown. Show it:
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section and
Fig. 2 shows a cross section through the sleeve.
The sleeve made from one piece has two pipe insert parts 1, 2 and an inner collar 3, which is arranged between these parts 1 and 2 and which serves as a stop for the two plastic pipes 5 shown in broken lines.
serves. Pipe insert parts 1 and 2 are provided with several, preferably three up to 5 longitudinal ribs 4, depending on the size of the diameter of the sleeve. The inward tapering of the longitudinal ribs 4 extend from the end faces 6, 7 over half the lungs of the tube insert parts 1, 2. This has the advantage that the tube end 5 pushed in can expand again somewhat, whereby a better fit of the tube 5 is guaranteed.
The present invention is not limited to the exemplary embodiment shown.
The pipe ends to be joined together can, as shown in the exemplary embodiment, have the same outside diameter or also have different outside diameters, in the latter case the specific insertion parts of the sleeve having corresponding inside diameters to accommodate these pipe ends.
As shown in the exemplary embodiment, the axes of the slide-in parts intended for receiving one pipe end each can belong to a common straight line or form an angle with one another.
Both socket halves can be provided both with one pipe insert part 1, 2 each and with several pipe insert parts for the mutual connection of more than two pipe ends 5.
The sleeve is preferably made of a transparent polyethylene resin. The use of a transparent synthetic resin also enables visual control of the correct insertion of the pipe ends.
