Abstract

The garden fork is designed for infirm people or those suffering from back trouble which prevents them from being able to lift the quantities of soil loosened by the prongs. It has two parts which are operated with a scissor action. The fork has a main arm (1) with a set of prongs at the bottom, and alongside is an auxiliary arm (2) shorter in length, with prongs offset from the first. A pivot rod passes through both, just above the prongs. The first part is stuck into the earth, and the other arm swung forwards to shift the soil.

Description

Fig. 1 zeigt das Gerät in Vorderansicht.

   PATENTANSPRUCH

The invention relates to a scissors digging fork, consisting of two parts each having a handle and prongs which are articulated to one another at the handle attachment.

The new garden tool makes it easier to dig up by hand by avoiding the need to bend down when digging and tilting the earth, which is particularly difficult for older people or people with back problems.

In the drawing, an embodiment of the scissors digging fork according to the invention is shown.

Fig. 1 shows the device in front view. In principle, the two parts 1 and 2 each form a digging fork with prongs, handle and handle. In the area of the handle attachment, each of these forks has a hinge part 3 or 4, which parts are connected to one another by a bolt 5.

The handling of the device is shown in FIGS. 2 and 3. The device is plugged into the ground in the closed state (Fig. 2), then the handle of part 2 is pulled backwards, while part 1 is held in its position (Fig. 3). Due to the leverage of part 2, the earth tilts effortlessly.
