Darin zeigen:
Fig. 1 eine Seitenansicht eines Schwingsystems,
Fig. 5 die Seitenansicht und Draufsicht einer Zusatzfeder.
Frequency standard for time-keeping devices
The invention relates to a frequency standard for time-keeping devices, with at least one oscillator which has two arms which oscillate in push-pull with one another and which are bridged by a coupling member attached to them.
In the case of such frequency standards, it is not sufficient that they vibrate precisely at all, but rather they must also vibrate precisely at a certain frequency. For this purpose it is necessary to perform a frequency adjustment on the finished vibration system. This is necessary in mechanical systems and in particular those in which the drive energy comes from an electrical system which itself has a certain natural frequency.
It is already known to attach a second, smaller tuning fork to a tuning fork for the purpose of eliminating the temperature influence on the frequency, the end of each prong of the second tuning fork being firmly connected to one prong of the first tuning fork. It is provided to carry out an adjustment (trimming) to a certain target frequency by grinding the tines, which is a rather cumbersome process. A frequency standard is also known, the basic structure of which corresponds to the exemplary embodiment of the invention described below, but with the difference that this known frequency standard does not provide for the possibility of subsequent frequency adjustment.
However, it is quite difficult to mass-produce such a frequency standard with such accuracy that all members of a series have exactly the same frequency.
The purpose of the invention is now to create a frequency standard that can be adjusted to a specific reference frequency in a simple manner, that is to say without mechanical processing such as grinding.
According to the invention, this is achieved with the frequency standard in that the coupling member is designed as a permanently bendable element, so that the coupling between the arms of the oscillator can be changed by bending the coupling member.
It is useful if the coupling member is designed as an adjustable additional spring. You can then adjust the frequency by adjusting just one additional spring or fewer additional spring types. It is advantageous if the position of the additional spring can be changed, for example, bendable, relative to the main spring. This is a particularly efficient form of frequency adjustment.
If the additional spring is temperature sensitive, the entire oscillation system can also be temperature compensated.
If the additional spring is a leaf spring, it requires little space, has good vibration properties, and can be manufactured, assembled and bent cheaply.
Attaching and bending the additional spring does not disturb the symmetry of the frequency standard if the spring constant of the main leather is preferably large compared to the spring constant of the additional spring, preferably a multiple thereof.
It is beneficial if the additional spring is preferably only arranged at moving points of the spring weight system. As a result, on the one hand, the nodes and antinodes of the system are not displaced, and in addition, without disturbing the symmetry of the system, only a single Fez is required, in contrast to the solution in which the additional spring is connected between each of the two masses and the base is.
The frequency adjustment can be simplified considerably if at least one coarse adjustment and at least one fine adjustment spring is provided. An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the drawing. Show in it:
1 shows a side view of an oscillating system,
FIG. 2 is a plan view of the oscillating system according to FIG. 1,
3 shows a front view in the direction of arrow A of the oscillating system according to FIGS. 1 and 2,
Fig. 4 is a section along the line 4-4 of Fig. 1,
5 shows the side view and top view of an additional spring.
The oscillating system according to FIGS. 1 to 4 has a base 411 which is fastened on a floor 410 in a manner not shown in more detail, on whose front and rear end faces 412 and 414 a respective oscillator 416 or 417 is fastened by means of screws 418. The oscillators 416, 417, which are identical in shape, each have a foot piece 420 or 421, on which two U-shaped partial oscillators 422, 423 or
424, 425 are arranged. The partial oscillators 423 and 425 as well as the partial oscillators 422 and 424 are rigidly connected to one another in terms of vibration by a connecting piece 428 and 429 each to form a partial oscillating system. These connecting pieces are fastened by means of screws 430 to the outer free end pieces of the relevant partial transducers in such a way that these free end pieces 434 are practically rigidly connected to the flat end faces 435 of the connecting pieces.
As a result of the boundary conditions for the oscillation of each of the partial oscillation systems, the center of gravity of the relevant partial oscillation system oscillates in a straight line when the outer arm 438 of the relevant partial oscillator is approximately the same length as the inner arm 439. Since in this embodiment the masses of the connecting pieces including the parts arranged on them are significantly larger than the masses of the part oscillators, including any additional masses arranged on the actual resilient parts of the part oscillator, the connecting pieces oscillate practically in a straight line.
The excitation coil 442 is attached to the connecting piece 429 by means of the L-shaped coil holders 440 and 441, which are screwed to the connecting piece 429. On the side of the coil 442 facing away from the connecting piece 429, a balance weight 444 is glued, the mass of which is determined so that the center of gravity of this partial oscillation system consisting of the parts 422, 424, 429, 440, 441, 442 and 444 is in the lines of symmetry EE of the two oscillators 416 and 417 torn central planes falls. The connecting piece 429 is here attached to the outer arm 438 of the two partial oscillators 422 and 421 in such a position that the aforementioned center of gravity of this partial oscillating system oscillates in a straight line.
A permanent magnet 454 is attached to the connecting piece 428 by means of the L-shaped supports 452 and 453 via cylindrical plastic intermediate pieces 472 and 473, which partially protrudes into the coil 442 and interacts with this coil in such a way that the connecting pieces 428 and 429 generate opposing vibrations with the same energy content are stimulable. In this case, the coil 442 is self-controlled by a conventional control and excitation circuit, which is therefore not shown in detail, in time with the natural oscillations of the oscillating system shown, so that an oscillation of a predetermined amplitude is maintained.
Counterweights 460 and 461 are attached to the supports 452 and 453, by means of which the center of gravity of the partial oscillation system consisting of parts 423, 425, 428, 452, 453, 454, 472 and 473 is also placed in the center plane of the oscillation system shown. Here, too, the connecting piece 428 is fastened to the oscillating elements 423 and 425 in such a way that this mentioned center of gravity executes a linear movement. In this exemplary embodiment, the focal points of the two partial oscillation systems are therefore in the same plane and oscillate on a common straight line. In this way an optimal accuracy of the oscillating system in question is achieved.
On the half of the two inner arms 439 facing the base 411, the leg ends 463 of an approximately U-shaped additional spring 464 are fastened by spot welds 462 on their surface facing away from the coil 442. The location of the attachment is chosen so that there is no vibration node there. Due to the U-shaped design of the additional spring 464, the two inner arms 439 can oscillate in opposite directions.
In order to achieve a fine adjustment of the oscillation frequency with the additional spring 464, it is bent out of the plane of the inner arms 439, as shown on the right in FIG. 1. The spring is preferably bent at the thinnest point 465 of the additional spring 464. Depending on how far it is permanently deformed, its spring constant and thus the spring constant of the entire system and its frequency also change.
This additional spring 464 can be provided several times and in different shapes, in particular when one additional spring takes over the coarse frequency adjustment and a second additional spring takes over the fine frequency adjustment.
