Abstract
The container is for olives, gherkins etc, which must be kept completely immersed in pickle, venigar, oil etc. In addition to the sealing cover (9) it has a false top (4) so designed that it maintains the items below the level of the preservative fluid. The container is preferably of plastics. The false top can be a diaphragm with raised edges holding it below the level of the container top. The cover can be welded to the container edge, part of it being secured both to the container edge and to that of the false top. The latter can have ports (6) in it of smaller diameter than the items contained.
Description

The present invention relates to a container containing a product to be kept completely submerged, such as, for example, olives, pickles, etc., which can be stored in brine, vinegar, oil, etc.
This container is characterized by the fact that in addition to an occlusion member, it has a removable false cover designed so as to maintain the product at a level lower than that of a liquid intended for its conservation.
The appended drawing represents three embodiments of the object of the invention, given by way of example.
Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the first embodiment, of which
fig. 2 shows a section.
Fig. 3 is a similar section of the second embodiment.
Fig. 4 is a partial section, on a larger scale, relating to the third embodiment.
In the example according to fig. 1 and 2, the body of the container proper is designated by 1. Its upper edge has a flat part 2, in the interior of the periphery of which is provided a housing intended to receive a rim 3 of the false cover 4.
The flat bottom thereof is placed below the level of the upper edge of the container, due to a raised portion 5 of its periphery.
It is pierced with holes 6, the size of which will be such that they cannot allow passage of the product contained in the internal space 7, in this case olives 8. Thus, this product will be trapped in said space and cannot in particular not to float in the preservative liquid, the level of which will be kept at a height such that it is visible in the holes 6 or even slightly exceeds the level of the latter. These holes thus make it possible to check whether the product is still covered.
The false cover is of course removable, that is to say that it is easy to extract it from the container.
Finally, by welding a heat-sealable occlusion sheet 9 on the flat edge of the container, it is possible to obtain a tight closure allowing transport.
Fig. 1 shows how to open the container by tearing off said sheet which could also be welded or at least partially fixed to the false cover, so as to be removed with the latter.
Container and false cover will preferably be made of plastic, for example thermoformed.
In the case of the second embodiment, according to the section of FIG. 3, the false cover has bosses 10, directed towards the inside of the container 1 and pressing on its contents (also olives 8), in order to prevent them from emerging from the preservation liquid.
As previously, for the holes 6, the diameters and distances of these bosses will be such that the product cannot come and occupy the interstices separating them from each other.
The third embodiment, according to the detail of FIG. 4, is identical to the previous one, except that the bosses 10 each end with an opening 11.
The advantage of the object of the invention is not only to constitute an obstacle capable of retaining the product in the container, in particular of preventing it from floating, but also of allowing easy and rapid control of the level at all times. preservative liquid.
