Abstract
The cutting pincers (1) has hard metal cutting heads (7), in the form of beak shaped blocks on the conventional inter-articulating levers (2, 3), each block incorporating the cutting edges (8). Pref. each beak shaped block (7) is a contiguous extension of the respective handle, the connection between the two being a beak tenon (9) engaging a mortice (6) formed in the handle section, with abutting peripheries then being soldered (10). With this design, the frequency of sharpening is reduced, and the tendency of the screw (4) to work loose is eliminated. A spring is provided which returns the pincers to the open position.
Description

The present invention relates to a cutting pliers comprising two branches or levers each comprising a cutting part.
After a more or less long period of use, the cutting parts of the existing pliers being worn, they must be sharpened. But there comes a time when, the pliers having been too often sharpened, the material is lacking.
There are also pliers with hard metal cutting inserts attached to the jaws. Shearing effects cause these platelets to detach.
The present invention attempts to remedy these drawbacks by the fact that the pliers, object of the invention, is characterized in that the cutting parts are formed on inserts made of hard metal.
The appended drawing illustrates schematically and by way of example an embodiment of a clamp according to the invention.
Figs. 1 and 2 are a front view and a side view of a pliers fitted with hard metal inserts.
The clamp 1 is composed of two branches 2 and 3 retained by the articulation 4. These branches end with a flat machined face 5 comprising a square groove 6 or in the form of a dovetail. The added nozzles 7 are made of hard metal. They have a cutting part 8 and at their base a raised part 9. This raised part 9 has the same profile as the groove 6 of the branches.
Spout 7 fits into the upper part of branch 2 or 3.
The two parts are then brazed at 10 over their entire perimeter.
The solder helps to separate the two parts better later when it comes to replacing the worn nozzle.
On the other hand, the attachment of the added nozzles is very solid and is not exposed to shearing effects due to the interlocking.
CLAIM
Cutting pliers comprising two branches or levers each comprising a cutting part, characterized in that the cutting parts are formed on inserts made of hard metal.
SUB-CLAIM
Pliers according to claim, characterized by the fact that the jaws include a raised part fitting into a groove machined in each branch or lever of the pliers and by the fact that they are brazed on these branches or levers.
