Beispiel I

The dyes of the formula 1 are suitable for dyeing cotton, leather, paper, inks or ballpoint pen pastes and preferably textile material made of acrylonitrile polymers, anionically modified polyesters or polyamides.
This gives brilliant blue to greenish blue dyeings with excellent fastness properties. Some of the dyes are also very soluble in water.
Data on parts and percentages in the following examples are based on weight, unless otherwise stated.
Example I.
29 g of 3-ethoxy-4-nitrosophenyl-p-tolyammonium chloride, dissolved in 250 ml of ethanol, are slowly added dropwise to a 60 ° C. solution of 15 g of 3-ethylamino-4-methylphenol in 250 ml of ethanol. After 30 minutes the whole is heated and stirred at reflux temperature for 2 hours. After adding 1500 ml of water and 15 g of zinc chloride to the cooled reaction solution, the dye is precipitated with common salt. It produces bright blue colorations on acrylonitrile polymer fibers.
Example 2
A solution of 29 g of 3-ethoxy-4-nitrosophenyl-p-tolylammonium chloride and 13 g of 3-amino-4-methylphenol in 300 ml of ethanol and 200 ml of water is stirred for 2 hours at reflux temperature. The dye of the formula falls on cooling
EMI1.5
crystalline in pure form. It produces true blue colorations on acrylonitrile polymers.
Example 3
27 g of 3-methoxy-4-nitrosophenyl-o-tolylammonium chloride are introduced into a 60 cc solution of 18 g of 3-cyanoethylamino-4-methylphenol and 13 g of zinc chloride in 100 ml of ethanol in two hours. After a further hour at 60 cc, 300 ml of water are added to the solution and the precipitation is completed by adding saturated sodium chloride solution. On acrylonitrile polymer fibers, the dye gives blue dyeings with very good fastness properties.
Example 4
27 g of 3-methoxy-4-nitrosophenyl-o-tolylammonium chloride are slowly added to a 50 cc solution of 12 g of 3-amino-4-methylphenol and 26 g of zinc chloride in 100 ml of methanol. The dye precipitates as a sparingly soluble zinc chloride double salt. By converting it into the acetate, a readily soluble dye is obtained which gives dyeings with very good fastness properties.
157 Example 5
27 g of 3-methoxy-4-nitrosophenyl-o-tolylammonium chloride are slowly added to a 80 ° C. solution of 15 g of 3-ethylamino-4-methylphenol and 13 g of zinc chloride in 100 ml of methyl glycol. The dye precipitates as a zinc chloride double salt. It can easily be converted into the readily soluble dye chloride via the base.
The blue colorants characterized in the following table by specifying the substituents are also obtained analogously to the procedure given:
