in Frage: 4-Hydroxy-diphenyl, 4,4' -Dihydroxy diphenyl, 3 -Hydroxy-dibenzofuran, 2 -Hydroxy-fluoren, 4-Hydroxy-3,4' di.tert.b utyl -diphenyl, 3 -Hydroxy-N -äthyl carbazol.
B. ABS-Polymere.

For use as stabilizers, the compounds are incorporated into substances sensitive to oxygen or applied as a protective layer to the substances to be protected. Thanks to their stabilizing effect, the new compounds used in this way protect the sensitive substances from destruction. The possible applications in the plastics sector are particularly numerous.
They can be used, for example, with the following plastics: cellulose acetate, cellulose acetobutyrate, polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl chloride acetate, polyamides, polystyrene, ethyl cellulose, cellulose nitrate, polyvinyl alcohol, silicone rubber, cellulose propionate, melamine-formaldehyde-formaldehyde resins, , Polymethyl methacrylate, polyester and polyacrylonitrile, and corresponding copolymers, z. B. ABS polymers. Natural substances can also be stabilized, such as rubber. The substances to be protected can be in the form of plates, rods, coatings, foils, films, tapes, granules, powders and other processing forms or as solutions, emulsions or dispersions.
The materials to be protected are incorporated or coated according to methods known per se. A particularly important application method consists in the intimate mixing of a plastic, for example of polypropylene in granular form, with the new compounds, e.g. B. in a kneader, and in the subsequent extrusion. In this way a very intimate mixture is obtained, which is important for good protection.
When extruding, for example, films, tubes or threads are obtained. The latter can be woven into textiles. In this procedure, the stabilizer is mixed with the polypropylene before processing into a textile material.
You can also use monomers or prepolymers or
Mix precondensates with the new stabilizers and only afterwards convert the plastic into its final form. The new stabilizers of formula (I) can not only be used to stabilize clear films, plastics and the like, they can also be used in opaque, semi-opaque or translucent materials.
Examples of such materials are: foamed plastics, opaque films and coatings, opaque papers, clear and opaque colored plastics, fluorescent pigments, polishes for automobiles and furniture, creams and lotions and the like, whether they are opaque, clear or translucent.
The amount of incorporated protective agents can vary within wide limits, e.g. B. between 0.01 and 5%, preferably between 0.05 to 1%, based on the materials to be protected. The stabilized organic materials can only contain compounds of the formula (I) or, in addition, other auxiliaries for improving the properties. Such auxiliaries are, for example, further stabilizers or co-stabilizers against destruction by heat and oxygen or UV light. Above all, those which belong to classes of substances other than the compounds of the formula (I) are suitable. B. 2-hydroxybenzophenones, organic compounds of sulfur, tin and trivalent phosphorus or nickel salts of organic carboxylic acids.
