la fig. 1 mostra in vista prospettica la motofalce secondo rinnovazione;
la fig. 2 mostra in vista prospettica esplosa il particolare deli'innesto centrifugo:
la fig. 3 lo mostra in sezione longitudinale ingrandita;
The present invention relates to a portable motor mower.
Portable motorcycles are known which consist of a light tubular metal frame supporting a cutter bar applied to the front end, an internal combustion engine for operating said bar, and a handle constituted by the rear part of the tubular frame itself suitably folded.
Such motor mowers are light, easy to handle and are intended to replace hand scythes for cutting grass in gardens, parks and lawns in general.
However, they have some drawbacks which limit their use, affecting precisely those fundamental characteristics of lightness, manageability and in general ease of use.
One of these drawbacks consists in the fact that the transmission between the engine and the cutter bar is direct: it follows that the engine must necessarily be started under load, with greater difficulty and effort; furthermore, the blade, encountering any obstacles such as stones or pieces of iron, can break; finally, during periods of rest with the engine running, it constitutes a danger for people and things with which it accidentally comes into contact.
Another drawback consists in the fact that since the indination of the frame with respect to the ground must be constant, for a good shaving job, the machine is not suitable for operators of different stature, who are therefore forced to maintain a working position all the more inconvenient the more their height differs from the average value for which the machine itself was designed.
Furthermore, the presence of vibrations, due both to the reciprocating motion of the blades with respect to the blade holder bar, and to the motor, constitute other drawbacks which currently have not been satisfactorily remedied.
According to the invention, all the aforementioned drawbacks are eliminated with a portable power cutter comprising a cutter bar mounted at the end of a tubular frame and driven by a motor, also supported by said frame, characterized in that the cutter bar comprises two superimposed blades , actuated with opposite reciprocating motion by the engine by means of a centrifugal clutch, means also being provided to reduce the vibrations of the machine and to facilitate its driving and advancement.
The present innovation is better clarified with reference to the attached drawings tables in which:
fig. 1 shows a perspective view of the second renewal motor-scythe;
fig. 2 shows an exploded perspective view of the detail of the centrifugal coupling:
fig. 3 shows it in an enlarged longitudinal section;
fig. 4 shows a partial front view of the cutter bar, and
fig. 5 shows it in side view.
As can be seen from the figures, the motor mower according to the innovation comprises a frame consisting of a tubular element I equipped with two wheels 2 placed side by side, for supporting the ground and for moving forward.
A cutter bar 4 comprising a pair of superimposed blades 5 and 5 'equipped with opposite reciprocating motion is applied to the front end of the tubular element I by means of a support bracket 3.
A pair of stabilizing shoes 6, applied to said bar 4, keep it parallel to the ground during mowing operations.
Inside the tubular element I is housed a transmission shaft 7 which operates the two blades 5 and 5 '. It extends below into a double gooseneck 8 to which two connecting rods 9 and 9 'are articulated, which provide to give the two blades 5 and 5' reciprocating motion.
An ogival element 10 is welded to the connecting rod 9, having the function, as will be better described hereinafter, of facilitating the penetration and advancement of the machine in the grass.
A cylindrical casing 11 of larger diameter, consisting of two portions 12 and 12 'joined along a circumferential flange 13, is welded to the upper end of the tubular element 1.
Welded to the transmission shaft 7, in correspondence with said cylindrical casing 11, is a cup 14 housing a centrifugal expansion element 15 keyed, by means of a hub 16, to the shaft 17 of the engine 18. In conditions of minimum rpm the external surface of the expansion element 15 is slightly different from the internal surface of the cup 14.
A tubular element 20 is also applied to the casing 11, by means of an elastic shock absorber 19, which extends to the indieko forking into two metal rods 21 constituting the handles of the machine. Said rounds are equipped with knobs 22 and are in turn connected, by means of alki, two elastic shock absorbers 19 'to the engine 18.
The connection between the tubular element 20 and the metal rods 21 is axially adjustable, so that it is possible to vary the height of the knobs 22 with respect to the ground, to allow the machine to be used in the correct operating position by people of different stature.
Finally, a stand 23 is provided in the position below the motor unit to support the machine on the ground during breaks. Said stand is foldable and can be snapped onto the tubular element 1.
From what has been said, the operation of the motor mower according to the innovation is evident: first of all the operator, keeping the stand 23 lowered, so that the machine assumes the correct operating position, adjusts the position of the round bars 21 with respect to the element 20, and consequently,
The height of the knobs 22; subsequently it starts the motor 18. Until the shaft 17 rotates at low speed, it remains uncoupled from the transmission shaft 7 and the blades 5 and 5 'remain stationary.
However, when the operator wants to mow the grass, after folding the stand 23, it causes an increase in the rotation speed of the shaft 17: the element 15 expands due to the cenkifuge effect and adheres with the external surface to the internal surface of the sump 14 by rotating the transmission shaft 7.
The rotary motion of the shaft 7 is transformed by the double gooseneck 8 and the connecting rods 9 and 9 'into opposite reciprocating motion of the two blades 5 and 5', which, as the machine advances, cut the grass in front .
It should be noted that the vibrations caused by the reciprocating motion of a blade are exactly compensated for by those of the alka, so that the insulting effect is substantially nil and the cutting of the grass is more regular.
The ogival element 10, which is constrained to the head of the connecting rod 9, is subjected, during the advancement of the machine, to a spiral motion, which favors its penetration into the grass and its discharge from the cutter bar, and essentially the overall progress of the machine.
As for the vibrations originating from the engine 18, these are absorbed almost completely by the elastic shock absorbers 19 and 19 'so as to be transmitted to the knobs 21 in a very attenuated manner, with evident advantages as regards the driving and control of the machine.
These advantages are also enhanced by the presence of the double handle which reduces and balances the lifting and pushing effort of the machine.
