**WARNUNG** Ende DESC Feld konnte Anfang CLMS uberlappen**.
The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of formaldoxime compounds of the general formula I.
EMI1.1
wherein R1 and R2, which can be the same or different, represent an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or an aralkyl group, which are used for the production of particularly valuable insecticides.
It is known that 1,1-dialkylthioformaldoximes which correspond to the general formula I can be obtained by reacting the corresponding alkali alkyl trithiocarbonate with an alkyl halide and reacting with hydroxylamine, preferably in the form of the hydrochloride and in the presence of a base, or by primary oximation of the Alkali alkyl trithiocarbonate and subsequent alkylation of the resulting thiohydroxamic acid with alkyl halide, preferably in the presence of a tertiary base. Finally, 1,1 dialkylthioformaldoximes with identical alkyl radicals can be prepared by reacting carbon disulfide with hydroxylamine, preferably as the hydrochloride in alcoholic solution, followed by alkylation with an alkyl halide.
The compounds of general formula I can in a known manner with isocyanates of general formula II
R3N = C = O I] where R3 is an optionally substituted alkyl or aryl radical, preferably methyl, to the compounds of the general formula III
EMI1.2
implemented. The compounds of the general formula III, in particular the compound in which R1, R2 and R3 are methyl, have excellent insecticidal properties.
The abovementioned processes for the preparation of 1,1 dialkylthio-formaldoximes have certain disadvantages, in particular the yields, for example in the conversion to 1,1-dimethylthioformaldoxime, starting from carbon disulfide, are far below the values aimed for in an industrial process.
It has now been found that the compounds of general formula I in which R1 and R2, which can be the same or different, denote an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or an aralkyl group, can be prepared easily and in very good yields if you use N -Arylimino-dithiocarbonic acid ester of the general formula IV
EMI1.3
in which R1 and R2 have the meanings given above and R4 is an aryl radical which is optionally substituted by an alkoxy group, is reacted with a salt of hydroxylamine.
The compounds of general formula I can be prepared as follows:
The compound of the general formula IV is added to a salt of hydroxylamine, preferably hydroxylamine hydrochloride, in a suitable solvent, for example methanol, ethanol, dimethylformamide, preferably with stirring. It is added over a certain period of time, for example 5 to 6 hours Stirred room temperature, the solvent removed in vacuo and in the usual manner, for. B. worked up by partition extraction in the ether / water system, treatment of the combined ether extracts with hydrochloric acid, washing with water until a neutral reaction, drying of the ether phase with sodium sulfate and evaporation of the solvent.
The compounds of the general formula I are obtained in fairly pure form when prepared by the process according to the invention.
The compounds of general formula IV used as starting substances can be prepared as follows:
The aniline carbodithioate of the general formula V
EMI1.4
where Rl stands for an alkyl group with 1 to 4 carbon atoms and R4 stands for a phenyl radical optionally substituted by an alkoxy group, is dissolved or suspended in a suitable solvent, preferably ethanol, with one equivalent of alkali metal alcoholate, preferably in ethanol, and added immediately after preparation, and the resulting clear solution becomes the alkyl halide of the general formula VI within a certain time, about 30 minutes
R2X VI where R2 is an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and X is a halogen atom, preferably iodine, is added.
The compounds of the general formula V can be prepared in a known manner, for example by reacting an aniline of the general formula VII
R4NH2 VII in which R4 represents an aryl radical optionally substituted by an alkoxy group, with carbon disulfide and the compound of the general formula VIII
R1X VIII wherein R1 is an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and X is a halogen atom, preferably iodine, in the presence of a suitable base, for example triethylamine.
Another advantage of the process according to the invention for preparing the compound of general formula I is that the aniline of general formula VII required to prepare the starting compound of general formula V is released during the reaction with the salt of hydroxylamine and can be recovered in high yield .
The following example serves to illustrate the process according to the invention for the preparation of the compounds of the general formula I. The temperatures are given in degrees Celsius.
Example 1 1,1-dimethylthio-formaldoxime
80 g (1.14 mol) of hydroxylamine hydrochloride are dissolved in 750 ml of methanol, and 227 g (1 mol) of methyl p-methoxyphenylimino-dithiocarbonate are added with stirring. The initially cloudy solution becomes clear after about 30 minutes. The mixture is stirred for a further 5 to 6 hours at room temperature, the solvent is removed in vacuo and the solid residue is partitioned between water and ether. The aqueous phase is extracted again with ether and the combined ether extracts are shaken with 1 N hydrochloric acid, washed with water until a neutral reaction occurs, dried over sodium sulfate and evaporated. The crystalline residue of 1,1 dimethylthioformaldoxime is already quite pure.
The yield is 77.4%. The melting point of the substance recrystallized from benzene / petroleum ether is 71-73 (Lit. 73-74 ").
