Abstract
The frame may be used for pictures, doors or for decorative purposes with layers superimposed to form a narrowing or a widening edge from the outside periphery. The layers (12) can be made of plywood or other laminations and the aperture may feature a groove for the insertion of a picture or a backing plate. The inclined surfae with the projecting cross sections of each layer imparts a rustic appearance to the frame. A picture, pane of glass or central veneer panel is laid across the flat rear side of the frame.
Description
Fig. 1 einen Rahmen in perspektivischer Ansicht,
Fig. 2 einen Schnitt nach Linie 2-2 in Fig. 1,

The invention relates to a wooden frame used as a picture frame. Door panel or can be used for decorative purposes.
Wooden frames are widely used for these purposes. However, the known frames are not suitable for simulating a rustic appearance, as is often desired.
The wooden frame according to the invention is characterized by a flange-like body with a central opening. the thickness of which increases or decreases as the distance from the outer edge decreases to form an inclined surface. and which consists of a single sheet of plywood or a laminated board.
The opening edge can be grooved on one or both sides. to take a picture, a base plate and the like. The inclined surface makes the different layers visible. creating a peculiar, rustic look. A large number of different types of frames can be obtained by using different types of wood and varying the inclination of the inclined surface on the different wood layers.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing. Show it:
1 shows a frame in perspective view,
Fig. 2 is a section along line 2-2 in Fig. 1,
3 shows an enlarged partial section which shows how it is necessary to cut to produce the inclined surface, and
FIG. 4 shows an enlarged view of part of the frame according to FIG. 1.
A laminated or plywood board 10 with a plurality of layers 12 of different thicknesses has a central opening 14. This opening can be grooved along its circumference on one or both sides to the desired depth. The part of the plate remaining around the opening is cut obliquely and forms an oblique surface 16.
In the example shown, the plate is rectangular and forms a flange-like body with an outwardly decreasing thickness. Due to the bevel, the cut surfaces of the various layers 12 become visible, as shown by the cutting line in FIG. 3.
The central opening can accommodate a picture, a base plate or the like in order to complete the frame, as described above.
The frame can also be used as a door frame, window frame, door panel, decoration and the like.
PATENT CLAIM
Wooden frame, characterized by a flange-like body with a central opening, the thickness of which increases or decreases to form an inclined surface with decreasing distance from the outer edge, and which consists of a single sheet of plywood or a laminated board.
SUBCLAIMS
1. Wooden frame according to claim, characterized in that the cut surfaces of all layers (12) of the body are visible in the inclined surface.
2. Wooden frame according to dependent claim 1, characterized in that the different layers (12) of the body have different thicknesses.
