Abstract
The alloy having the compsn. 29-35% Zn, 0.5-0.8% Be, 1-3% Pb, balance Cu, a tensile strength of 40-85 kg/mm2 and elongation 40%, is shaped into watch parts or casings by stamping and/or pressing. A heat treatment is applied before and/or after shaping, for example by heating for 1-3 hr. at 700-900 degrees C and then quenching in water. Prefd. compsn. is 32% Zn, 0.6% Be, 2% Pb, 65.4% Cu.
