schweizerische Patentschrift Nr. 457 469).
Als Bestandteile der erfindungsgemässen Mischungen kommen beispielsweise eines oder mehrere der folgenden Triazine der Formel I in Betracht: 2-Chlor4-methyl amino-6-äthylamino-s-triazin, 2-Chlor-4-methylamino-6 -isopropylamino-s-triazin, 2-Chlor-4-methylamino-6-sec. -butylamino-s-triazin, 2-Chlor4-methylamino-6-tert. -butylamino-s-triazin, 2-Chlor-4-äthylamino-6-n-propylamino-s-triazin, 2-Chlor-4-äthylamino-6 -isopropylamino -s-triazin, 2-Chlor-4-äthylamino-6-sec. -butylamino-s-triazin, 2-Chlor4-äthylamino-6 -tert. -butylamino-s-triazin, 2-Chlor-4-isopropylamino -6-sec. -butylamino-s-triazin, 2-Chlor-4-isopropylamino-6-tert.

In gleicher
5 Teile Natriumdibutylnaphthylsulfonat
3 Teile Naphthalin-Phenol-sulfonsäuren : Formaldehyd-

The present invention relates to a herbicidal agent containing two active ingredient components and the use of this agent for combating weeds, in particular in cereal and corn crops.
The herbicidal agent is characterized in that it contains, on the one hand, a 2-chloro-4,6-bis- (substituted-amino) -s-triazine of the formula I as the active ingredient component

The s-triazine components of the formula I are prepared, for example, in a manner known per se by reacting cyanuric chloride with one mole each of the corresponding amine in the presence of solvents or diluents and, if appropriate, acid-binding agents (cf.
Swiss Patent No. 457 469).
As constituents of the mixtures according to the invention, for example, one or more of the following triazines of the formula I come into consideration: 2-chloro-4-methylamino-6-ethylamino-s-triazine, 2-chloro-4-methylamino-6-isopropylamino-s-triazine, 2-chloro-4-methylamino-6-sec. -butylamino-s-triazine, 2-chloro-4-methylamino-6-tert. -butylamino-s-triazine, 2-chloro-4-ethylamino-6-n-propylamino-s-triazine, 2-chloro-4-ethylamino-6-isopropylamino-s-triazine, 2-chloro-4-ethylamino-6 -sec. -butylamino-s-triazine, 2-chloro-4-ethylamino-6-tert. -butylamino-s-triazine, 2-chloro-4-isopropylamino -6-sec. -butylamino-s-triazine, 2-chloro-4-isopropylamino-6-tert.

Preferred cyanophenol derivatives of the formula II as components of the mixture are 2,6-diiodo-4-cyanophenol, 2,6-di brom4-cyanophenol and the corresponding phenyl esters, such as. B. Caprylic acid (2,6-dibromo-4-cyano) phenyl ester and methyl carbamic acid (2,6-di-od-4-cyano) phenyl ester.
In the context of the present description, weeds are understood to mean broad-leaved weeds (dicotyledons) and various grass-like weeds (monocotyledons), e.g. B. those belonging to the following families:
Umbelliferae, Compositae, in particular annual Compositae, Cruciferae, Chenopodiaceae, Rubiaceae, Solanaceae, Papaveraceae, Boraginaceae, Coryophyllaceae, Scrophyllaceae, Polygonum spp., Geranium ssp., Amaranthaceae, Digitynodiaceae, Setynodiaceae, and Gramineos of the genera Panynodicum etc.
Such weeds seriously affect the growth of summer and winter crops and corn. To date, only limited control has been possible with conventional herbicides in acceptable application quantities. In many cases it was possible to control some weed species satisfactorily with reasonable application rates, but at the same time other weed species were either only restricted in their growth or their proliferation could not be prevented. In some cases, weed species that resist the action of certain herbicides could be combated by increasing the amount of herbicidal active ingredient, but this is unfavorable because increasing the application rate runs the risk of damaging the crops or large residues of herbicides to generate in the soil.
Therefore, in combating weeds in crops, it is desirable to develop herbicides which are effective at low concentrations.
It has now been found that the inventive multicomponent mixtures of a triazine of the formula I with an active ingredient of the formula II in relatively low concentrations for combating weeds, in particular for combating weeds in cereals and maize crops, are much more effective than the comparison the individual effect of the individual components with comparable concentrations can be expected. Mixtures which have proven to be particularly effective are those which, as s-triazines of the formula I, are 2-chloro-4-ethylamino-6-isopropylamino-s-triazine (hereinafter referred to as atrazine) and methylcarbamic acid - (2,6-diiodo-4 -cyanophenyl) ester (hereinafter referred to as cyanophenyl ester).
Such mixtures can contain the two components in all possible ratios in the range from 1: 1 to 1:12 atrazine: cyanophenyl ester. In general, the application amount of the two active ingredients, mixed in the given proportions and formulated with inert carriers and / or diluents, is between 0.2 and 1.2 kg per hectare, preferably between 0.25 and 0.9 kg per hectare.
The amounts of agent according to the invention used must of course be large enough to produce the desired herbicidal effect. The amounts used to destroy or prevent weed growth vary depending on the specific weed species, the formulation used, the corresponding herbicidal effect of the active ingredients, the intended use (short-term or long-term effect), the method of application, the plant density, the prevailing weather conditions and other variables .
Since a large number of variables play a role, it is not possible to specify an application rate that is suitable for all circumstances.
With such mixtures, summer and winter cereal crops and maize crops in particular can be treated in moderate climatic zones after the plants have emerged without the crop plants being damaged in any way. The planting can be treated with the mixtures according to the invention at the earlier possible point in time of the growth period after the plants have germinated.
In the agent according to the invention, the proportion of the triazine component makes up preferably 8 to 50% by weight and the proportion of the other component 92 to 50% of the total amount of active ingredient.
The following tests were carried out to determine the synergistic and selective herbicidal action of the mixtures according to the invention:
Post-emergence method
The following test plants were sown in the greenhouse: Wheat as a crop and Lolium perenne, Alopecurus myosuroides, Avena fatua, Bromus tect. and Setaria italica as grassy weeds. After the plants emerged (3-4 leaf stage), the corresponding active ingredient or the corresponding active ingredient mixture (I: II in a weight ratio of 1: 4) was sprayed on as an aqueous dispersion (obtained from 50% wettable powders). The effects achieved on the emerged plants were evaluated 11 to 14 days after application. The plants were kept evenly moist during the experiment.
The temperature in the greenhouse was about 22 to 25 ° C. and a relative humidity of 60 to 70%. The herbicidal effect was rated as follows:
9: no damage 8-5: minor damage (increase in reversible phytotoxic symptoms) 4-2: severe damage (increase in irreversible phytotoxic effects)
1: Plants dead.
The results are summarized in the following table.

The two types of active ingredient mentioned can be processed in the usual manner together with various conditioning agents and additives to form agents which contain the active ingredients in herbicidally effective amounts. Usually no less than about 1% active ingredient is used in dusts, while the active ingredient content in wettable powders or solutions can be up to 80 or 90%.
After mixing with suitable additives or distribution agents, the herbicidal composition according to the invention can be in the form of solutions, dusts, wettable powders and aqueous dispersions or emulsions. So you can with a carrier or diluent, such as. A finely divided solid, an aqueous solution of materials of organic origin, water, a wetting agent, a dispersing agent, an emulsifying agent or suspending agent, an aqueous emulsion, or any suitable combination of all of these agents. The wetting agents, dispersants, emulsifiers and suspending agents are usually summarized under the generic term surface-active substances.
Such surface-active agents can be anion-active, cation-active or non-ionic substances which are known per se in many varieties. In the preparation of compositions according to the invention, the surface-active substances are usually used in a concentration range between 1 and 10% by weight.
The herbicidal composition of the present invention is usually used in the form of solutions, emulsions, suspensions or dusts according to the intended use. However, all application forms must contain the active ingredients in finely divided form.
For the selective prevention of plant growth, in particular for selective weed control, the use of inert carrier materials is preferred to carrier materials which are themselves phytotoxic.
Dusts and other solid compositions are obtained by intimately mixing and grinding the active ingredients with inert solid carriers, such as. B.
Talc, diatomaceous earth, kaolin, bentonite, calcium carbonate, limestone, boric acid, dolomite, precipitated silica, alkaline earth metal silicates, feldspar, mica, tricalcium phosphate as well as wood flour, powdered cork, bran, tree bark flour, cellulose powder, charcoal and other materials of vegetable origin. Each of these carriers can be used on its own or as mixtures with one another. The particle size of the carrier materials is expediently up to approx. 0.1 mm for dusts, between 0.075 and 0.2 mm for grit and between 0.2 and 1 mm for granulates. The carrier substances can, however, also be impregnated with the active substances by means of a volatile solvent. Dusts and pastes can be made suspendable in water by adding wetting agents and protective colloids and thus used as a spray.
Liquid concentrates for aqueous emulsions and wettable powders for aqueous suspensions can be produced from both liquid and solid active ingredients. Liquid active ingredients or solid active ingredients are only better suited for the production of liquid concentrates or wettable powders with higher concentrations. The various application forms can be adapted to the intended purpose in the usual way by adding substances that improve the distribution, the adhesion properties, the resistance to rain and possibly also the
Improve absorption. Such substances are especially the above-mentioned surface-active agents.
In the same
The biological effect can be increased and broadened by adding substances with bactericidal or fungicidal properties or other active ingredients that influence plant growth, as well as by adding fertilizers.
The method according to the invention for combating weeds preferably consists in treating an area contaminated by weeds with an effective amount of an agent which contains the active ingredients atrazine and fanerone.
The herbicidal agent can be applied in the form of a spray, a powder or dust to the site or to the area to be protected from weeds. The agent is applied directly to the place or area that is already contaminated with weeds. So the agents can be used as a spray on the leaves. On the other hand, the dry, powdery agents can be sprinkled directly onto the plants.
The 50% wettable powders used for the above experiments have the following composition: Atrazine 50% wettable powder 50 parts of atrazine
5 parts of sodium dibutyl naphthyl sulfonate
3 parts naphthalene-phenol-sulfonic acids: formaldehyde
Condensate 42 parts Champagne chalk cyanophenyl ester 50% wettable powder 50 parts cyanophenyl ester
5 parts of silica
3.5 parts of octylphenol octaglycol ether
0.5 parts oleic acid
2 sodium alkyl sulfate 39 parts Bolus alba
